Bob I love listening to you ramble on while riding bikes. I have you playing at work in the background, makes the day go much faster. Keep up the good work.
I had a Caballero 50 cc dirtbike ... That was a badass bike. In 1900 something. Hey Bob, great reviews sir. Greatings , it's great to see your young passion for bikes.
Great review. I was a bit nervous for you pressing on in those slippery conditions. The Caballero range is very handsome, but sorry to say, this model has lost some of the style refinement of its smaller siblings. Better looking that the Yammahas though.
I've had a Fantic 500 flat track for 2 years and it's a masterpiece. That's probably a little of an overstatement but it's so much fun l can't keep the smile off my face. I live in the Algarve and my Fantic dealer hasn't sold one 700, everyone wants the 500, they're still flying off the shelves...the general feeling is that the 700 doesn't quite work and the 500 is better....
Single cylinders are gay

nice to see my old town where i rode Portishead
Are they going to do a rally version with this platform?
This is going to be an interesting bike, very keen to see this in the flesh
Its just a superb bike in my opinion. Good looks, really good an reliable engine and an italian soul. What do you need more? 🙂
Definitely warmed to it a lot! That engine just works in anything 👍
@@motobob absolutely!
Finally a proper motovlog video instead of 'static' ones.. :)) Nice!
Re-upload? This one is HD, I guess that's why. Cheers Bob!
Yes indeed - some problem with the upload 🤷♂️
I really enjoy MotoBob Vlogs, shame there aren’t more of them. You don’t hang about do you on those wet and greasy roads ! 🇬🇧
More coming now that the shows and announcements are over and it’s time for reviews 👍
That's a fantastic looking bike. I would love a go on one, but we don't have them here in Canada. Pity.
Really like these but only one dealer in Scotland and settled on a XSR700 XTribute with higher seat height, love the CP2, might go for a Tenere World Raid next ❤
How do you compare this to a triumph scrambler 900?
What CCM should be doing with the new Suzuki 800cc engine!
No, they shouldn't.
Terrible weldings on the exhaust, are these the Arrow ones?
I love mine although it has some warranty issues that I’ve been assured will be fixed at first service. The engine is a peach, plenty fast enough for me. The build quality on mine around the plastics on the petrol tank is poor. Apparently there is a recall for this plus my right hand switch gear has packed up, so can’t scroll through menu on dash. Fingers crossed there won’t be anything else as it’s a brilliant fun bike.
First time I hear about this kind of issues. How do you feel about he support from Fantic with the warranty fixes? I decided I want a Caballero 700 but quality issues and the way these get solved are my only concern.
@@arnoudbuddingh2669 it’s going back to the dealers for its first service. These issues will be put right then so my dealer has said. That’s all I can tell you for now. I’ll update when I know more. Thanks
@@cooky6660 thanks! Appreciate that.
Bike has just had its first service and the minor issues fixed. The tank panel fitment was a recall. Warranty and bike is back home so all good, looking forward to decent weather to get some miles on her!!
Thanks for the update. Sounds like you are happy with the service provided. Good to hear.
Not quite as pretty as it’s 500cc cousin, but the engine is a known quantity. The thing that keeps it off my radar is the dealership network and parts availability. Having got into Royal Enfield 5 years ago, back when their network was smaller than now, the distances to the nearest dealer location for warranty/recalls/servicing is a factor with these smaller brands.
…and you be careful riding the mean streets of Portbury. 😂
What xsr700 should have been😅
A great bike and almost perfect for me except 2 things ....too tall in the saddle ( fixable) and way
overpriced !! ... Honda Hornet 750 £7K , this £ 9600 ??? ... sorry but it's ridiculous.
I would put money on them being heavily reduced in no time.
The price difference is significant to say the least, but Fantic will never be able to compete, the economies of scale aren't even slightly comparable. Factor in that Fantic will also be trading on the uniqueness/exclusivity element, I think it's possible to see a £1000 reduction, but not more.
This is what the xsr700 should’ve looked like. It just puts the xsr to shame in the looks department. Would have been cool if they based it on the T7 instead, would have made it much more capable and interesting.
what the mt07 should be post 2nd gen .
shame yamaha, shame.
mt07 , superb engine , shiet everything else...especially suspension.
this is the bike yamaha should have made.and not the xsr700
It needs tubeless tyres, and it's too expensive. Great engine, but we know that from the MT-07/XSR700. I think the Caballero 500 [450cc] looks better. I'd rather have an XSR700 than a Caballero 700.
I don't understand why virtually everyone who tests & reviews this bike treats it exclusively as a street bike & not a scrambler?. Spec wise I think the triumph scrambler 900 is just a poser coffee shop bike, but is this bike only just as well ?. I realise it's not an off road bike, but as a scrambler isn't it capable of a bit of green Laning?.
To be fair, there aren't any real scramblers in the market now. The only scramblers that have real off road capabilities are the ducati desert scramblers and the Triumph scrambler 1200 xe. The rest are mostly styling exercises.
They all can do minor offroad riding, but nothing major due to their low ground clearance and short travel suspension.
It’s low slung and I’ve included some shots of the underside of the bike to show just how vulnerable it is. There are no frame rails to fit a sump guard and the headers just have a carbon heat shield. Even on a relatively easy green lane you’ve still got a good chance of meeting a rock. I’d rather be on the triumph which they’ve used in the past as one of the bikes available at their adventure centre. But ultimately the best choice would be a 125, 250 or 500 caballero all of which are pretty much based on dirt bikes. I mention this in the main review which is coming soon 👍
Yeah, stock Triumph 900s are poseurish, but the aftermarket offers better suspension, more power, and weight reduction for it.
