Thanks for the info guys. I've had all the YZFs since the first 400 and also a WRF 250 Which i turned to 270 with Athena kit. Since 2020 I have the Sherco 300FSE (2T), which i love. My question is. Is the XEF310 just and oversised WRF with fancy mapping or have they done anything on flywheel, crankshaft and conrod? Thanks in advance

    Hello mate, Two questions:
i'm a owner of an XEF250 4stroke, do you think there is an improvement on the lugging in low revs on the 310? I mean, i love the 250 and i'm confortable with the pull of it from mid to high. I'm just not very confortable with the always constant risk of bike stall when i'm crawling technical trails in low revs.
I'm currently looking for a 300cc Enduro 2 stroke add to my garage. My favourite bike 2stroke is a Beta 300RR Racing 22 or higher. Can you quick compare this two? Beta 300RR Racing and this fantic? I have the impression that this fantic will be more similar to a TM 300Fi 2 stroke than towards the Beta engine deliver and friendly usability.
Thank you for sharing your review of the bikes.

Hi, it's a decent improvement over the 250 in that way. Not just for the extra power, which makes it more useful in all riding conditions, but also because of the things Salvini is talking about in the video. The 250 needs the same development of the fuel delivery IMO. I rode the 310 on the rocks and deliberately in low revs a lot and didn't find the stalling anything like the 250. Two-stroker compared to others on the market is difficult without a back-to-back test. They are different horses in how they all feel for sure because of different chassis' and suspension etc. But the engine character on the Fantic is great, like the EXC/TE300/EC300 but stronger I think. And yeah, like the TM feels stronger tin that wat. Hope that helps. 👍

@@jonpearsonbiketester yes it helped thank you. About my 250, the short story is, i love the high rev 250f japan style engines, but the downside is the low rev usability that we can only find on the enduro EU bikes :( Recent Japanese bikes, never find this!! The 250 is constantly reminding me that i'm using a mx bike with some "soft ECU map" but the nature of the engine always comes up in the low revs ......
About the 2stroke, i just want ot avoid "enduro racing weapons" like TM300 that in my opinion, is only for PRO's and not for hard enduro mellow situations. I want a 2 stroke for riding with friends, mostly hard/extreme enduro slow conditions. The bike got to have punch yes, but the punch is for helping and not for ripping my body :)
Again thank you so much for your inputs. Please continue with your good work!

hello mate i work at a fantic dealership and i had the chanche to do some meters on the 300.
sadly not offroad just on the street but i was very impressed by the power delivery and the chanches the map switch can do.
it makes very good power in the low and mid rpm and the soft map is very forgiving.
you can put in the hard map and the bike will just pull and pull and then you switch to the soft map and the power valve will realy do its job and makes it very ridable.

Fantic is buying the base bikes from Yamaha. Fantic gets the up to date technology with almost no delay and puts their twist on it, in some cases develops this baseline beyond like the XE300 which is a YZ250 in the core. The deal between Fantic and Yamaha is protecting Yamaha's market share in the US.

Get on a new gas gas and this just can’t compete, the ergonomics are still the same as a yz and for enduro they are just not as good, when the pace gets fast it’s awesome, it’s different granted but the likes of gas gas, Ktm, beta and Sherco are still a more viable buy for enduro riding

5sp gearboxes are fine if the spacing is right. One of my favorite enduro engines ever, and only a 250, was freakin awesome with just a 5sp trans. With a properly spaced 5sp and a 300 there should be no issues. As for the chassis you don't need to make changes if it was great to begin with and it still is when compared to any more modern chassis. Change just for the sake of change is not a winning strategy.

@@WildAzzRacing sorry but that’s nonsense the chassis was designed for motocross its stiff with high pegs low front end , as for the tranny we have all tried a million times to convert a YZ into an enduro bike and its not even close to a modern purpose built enduro.
That bike should have at least been based on the latest chassis the same as the four stroke and had a 6 speed because in essence all it is is a big bore yz250 which quite frankly would have been better off keeping the carb to match the rest of the bikes out dated spec
