Karen I think that this has been one of your best interviews! My hope is that it will go viral. My hope is that it will reach millions of women everywhere. It is has great value for educating us about the plight and excellence of women in Afghanistan, who have been hidden, and whose names are not even spoken. Your guest has done a beautiful work for the Afghanistan women and ultimately for that nation.
WOW what an interview. Rangina has inspired me in so many ways! She is an amazing example of what a leader of women should be (ALL women)! Our politicians could also take a lesson on what the meaning of service is! THANKYOU, Karen for introducing us to her and her work ‼️
Thank you Rangina for what you achieved for afghan women. I can see your enthusiasm is still there despite all the political changes your country went throug. Thank you for telling us about this important project and your work in politics ; the news we have from medias are always very limited and decreased after 2021. Elena, Italy
What a marvelous father& mother she had. Wise words to live by. Rangina is spiritually committed, determined, enlightening, courageous, loving, highly educated, and humble. These attributes alone in women will bring peace to this world. As humans that bring all life into this world, we appreciate all life. Wars will end with women in charge politically. Peace❤ Thank you, Karen & Rangina
Facsinating interview Karen. Ranginas strength and courage to achieve her vision to help the oppressed women in Afghanistan is amazing. Sisterhood in any culture or language will always win. The insight into the challenges these women face daily is incomprehensible to us as free women living in a democratic society. The heirloom embroidery is something they should all be proud of.👏♥️🇦🇺
I also live in the UAE and I hope Rangina didn't get washed away in the heavy rains that hit us, especially Dubai. This fantastic interview was very different from your others, thank you for stretching the bounderies of "quilting".
What a beautiful person, thank you for introducing us to Rangina, Karen. This was a fascinating and highly informative interview. I am in awe of Rangina and her incredible accomplishments. We need more Ranginas in this world.
Thank you for your excellent interview with Rangina Hamidi. I am sharing this interview with 3 women's groups I belong to...their purpose is to further women's rights. I plan to obtain the book and watch your interview again and again to further print Ranginas lessons...which are many.❤
I so enjoyed this interview as I indicated above. My local library occasionally orders books upon request. I have requested it ordered and will be available to other readers . 😮
Wow wow wow what an amazing interview. How blessed we are and what an incredible woman. Thank you Karen for sharing these interviews with us. We have been able to learn so much from your interviews. Awesome.
Such a wonderful and moving interview and woman. I particularly loved her attitude to what matters when trying to quantify the impact of putting money into projects. Not everything that can be counted counts and not everything that counts can be counted (attributed to Einstein) She and the women of Afghanistan have found warmth and friendship with each other, over and above and including their embroidery. I think we all find peace of mind in a difficult world, when we engage in our creativity
Wow! Wonderful interview, kudos to Rangina for her leadership and commitment 👏👏👏 thank you Karen for bringing out such great work, well deserved recognition 🩷
Thank you once again for amazing and inspiring interview. I admit to waiting a few days to watch this one so as to give it the attention it deserved. So informative and insightful
Karen, I think this is one of your best interviews. If anyone is looking for more stories of the life of women in Afghanistan, I recommend A Thousand Splendid Suns, by Khalid Hosseini.
In a similar vein is the book The Dressmaker of Khair Khana written by Gayle Tzemach Lemmon about Kabila Sidiqi who organized women to produce beautiful embroidered dresses during the Taliban. Very interesting interview.
Wonderful interview. What a beautiful thought to put all yourself and even a type of worship to the work these ladies did in spite of all the inequality they suffered. What a gift it would be to think they way in our process of quilting or whatever craft or task we take on.
I enjoyed your interview and learning of this beautiful work of excellence. Learning of other textile talents in other cultures is so interesting. We can sometimes take so much for granted here in Canada. Thanks for opening our eyes and hearts.
I live in Virginia!! I'd love to help get a brick and mortar site somewhere in the state. I live in Harrisonburg on I 81. We have several stores already set up that support third world artisans, Ten Thousand Villages is just one. Dirt is lots cheaper here than inside the DC beltway. KPDUTYQUITER
Karen, I love that you bring us interviews with people across the world, who we would never know about otherwise. Thank you!
I am so grateful to have connected with Rangina.
Peace will reign when women are valued and respected. Love this woman starting the journey.

Or 'Warp and Woof' (i think woof may be older than weft).
