This tank is very-very strong even before the buff. People often misunderstood this tank, or they just really bad at reading line-ups. This tank mostly is a medium bully like E50, you face HT only when you have to, mostly just help MT to clear out the flank, especially with the buffed DPM, you can perform this task very well. Remember, you might not have the penetration for all the HT, but you definitely have enough penetration to go through all the mediums, even E50M upper plate, just tap the premium key and just cut through like butter. Btw, run calibrated on this tank, it is a game changer from only good enough for fighting medium to capable to fight heavy armor tank like Maus and Type 71
0:58 well, it can be weird but still correct, the IS-8 has the M62 even irl, (differently from the IS-4), but anyways, yeah, it leading to a tank with a different type of gun is really weird, that's why the IS-7 and 8 aren't from the same branch on pc anymore
Fact: IS-8 is more commonly known and named as T-10 Heavy Tank due to Stalinisation of the USSR in the time the tank was about to enter service, and IS-8 was the last Heavy Tank on full production of the Soviet Union. IS-4 and IS-7 was just both Heavy Tank prototypes intend to enter service as a companion for Sovier T-54s and T-62s. On the west the Americans has also there last production Heavy tank the American M103 designed to counter the Soviet T-10s.

Can you do an update on the IS3 DEFENDER? I'm trying it out but no matter what I die nearly instantly like it has no armour I truly don't understand how to use it and thinking about selling it

I mean if you really want accuracy then the is7 should go 60km/h, has absolutely impenetrable armor (even stronger than it is now) and a gun that can penetrate anything and everything. It's a game after all, just have fun.
Imagine people complaining that IS-8 has horrible Gun depression, like srsly you should get used to it by now. If you think IS-8 has garbage gun depression, maybe whole Soviet Tanks Tech Trees is not for you. Yes, I said it. Cuz most soviet vehicles has 5-6° and some special ones which is not a lot of them, has 7-8°. So yeah, don’t complain IS-8 has a bad Gun depression. Blame yourself for not being smart enough to figure how to use them effectively. If I can operate IS-8 and IS-3 with flying colours, what your excuse? If you want gun depression, just drive Americans or Germans. Heck even Type 71 with meta build still has 6° of gun depression. A fool complaining about Gun depression without realizing you can be creative with the tank. Maybe blitz players are no longer have creativity in their brains anymore cuz the game is “less harsh” than previous pre 5.5 update. So yeah, if you know how to master IS-3, IS-8 wouldn’t be a problem while IS-7 you get rewarded by all of those hard work you did.
Meanwhile every map in WOTB HAS many hills which forces you to go forward and expose yourself to an ammorack. Well yes you have to be creative to use it. But when the game itself forces you to have at least 7 and above gun deppression to have a somewhat comfortable gameplay experience. Heck even nowadays goin city is 80% lose at this point on which the Russians tanks excel at.
It doesn't matter how skilled you are. The IS-8 OBJECTIVELY has bad gun depression, of course if you're good enough you can work around it but it's still bad.
@@shinymoddy yeah, i agree with you. my average dmg for is8 is 3k with top gun, just don't be a hero and lead a charge when you are in bottom tier matchmaking and read the map more. Your side armor is more durable than you think if you angle it well. don't rely on your gun depressioin, try to always find a rock, the side of the hill, or something that can block your hull while you peek and boom. Dont be the nub that always go forward on a hill, and expose your lower plate, go by the side and peek The IS8 ain't a bad tank if you have good map awareness, cos it has very high dpm to outrade most heavies as long as you don't miss your shots, and poke only when you have the chance
I remember struggles with this tank then I used 50% discount research to get IS-7 in just 2 weeks but then I realized that is-8 help getting the top gun for ST-1 and IS-4
mate ur running milk on it but not combat rations with gun rammer it gets 2800 DPM idk why u would run cali on that insane DPM 340 HEAT is enough for a heavium but u run cali on everything so eh

He has a skill unlocked where there is a slim chance that the gun will not disperse, or go where you aren't aiming, at all
