I will be sharing my own 1st answer and the improvements there on and the differences between all keywords(criticise, comment, discuss etc.) asked in questions in the part -2 of this video soon!
This will be a great initiative mam … pls share your answers with us. If it is possible please start a answer writing series where we can practice with you.
Answer writing is biggest obstacle in upsc preparation... Most of us just keep preparing for prelims and ignore to write answers which cost afterwards.... I kept on covering the syllabus for 2 years without practicing answer writing thinking that I will write best once I will cover everything. This was the biggest mistake.

Mam aap bhut motivate karte ho thankyou so much… apka daily schedule I’m following and I can feel the difference bhut clarity aa rhi h in preparation. And this video I know will help me even more and solve my problems
But to just start the answer writing one should have content right.. so should we first read the topic ,have notes on different dimensions of the topic and then attempt the answer writing.is that what you are suggesting?
You got it partially right! U should practise only pyq first of the topic u r reading since 4-5 days. For example u r reading climatology topics in geography ncert then try to practise pyq related to that without making any notes first … just try to attempt the que. This way u will be able to analyse how much u r retaining what u read also when u will compare your answers to model ans then u can add points beneath your ans to remember and revise later on points what u missed in your ans. This way your own answers on various topics will become your upsc relevant notes.
Mam , you wrongly showed marksheet of two people with different categories, 741 is generals cutoff for mains and 953 for final. The second person got selected because he’s from catogory ( not even OBC and EWS, their cutoff is also higher than the person you showed).Your intent is good, but it’s unfair for the first guy. Also it’s an important context that person getting just above cutoff marks, rarely clears the final list because then they have to get 210+ in interview which rarely happens. So one should strive for atleast 25 marks above cutoff for mains in their respective categories.
Man I am beginner please tell me about list of books for upsc and is it important to write standard English in upsc mains because I am from small village and my English is simple
Hi! I will putting booklist videos subject wise. For history you can refer to this video :- ua-cam.com/video/_1xh6lcjGY4/v-deo.htmlsi=_5ubXv9Bu6ivxqbi And upsc demand only simple plain English only. Don’t worry about it at all. No fancy English is needed to clear this exam or any government exam
I will make separate video for 2026 attempt soon, I’ll cover this in that video. Till the time what ever 1-3 most imp article you find most worthy to revise, note their headlines in your phone with date no so that you can search it on google for when to revise if u read from hard copy and if u read from soft copy then take the snapshot and save it. Also make sure to do revision every 5 days otherwise it will be difficult to revise
