I'm hoping that Luke looks at these comments because I have an important point to make.
I've worked at Boomtown 4 times, as either a venue or a zone manager. Last year, as my zone didn't exist anymore, I worked as a campsite manager. I chose to take on this role because I was genuinely interested in how the new campsite areas, with their hubs would work, particularly when it came to trying to convince people to take their stuff home with them.
With this in mind I was very happy to see that there were more, well placed, eco bond stations and also that the Eco warriors were out in force each day making the idea of tidying up and recycling a lot more fun and engaging.
However, last year a couple of things made this not work at all.
    1. The signs in my campsite, Temple Valley, were in the wrong place.
    2. Most importantly, the team that run this, not gonna mention names you know who they are, turned up well after the advertised opening times and left early.
I had so many people who dragged their rubbish, and other people's, up the hill to collect their eco bonds, only to find they couldn't get it back as the compound was shut!
Some of those people will have been people who didn't bother before, I'm pretty sure they won't bother again.
I know you've made the bond more expensive this year, @£20 up from £10, this may help get more people to try to do it, but if you can't garrentee that the compound will be open for business you're just going to get a lot of angry people.
Please please make sure that they are staffed for the hours that they say they'll be open and also let your camp managers know what those times are in advance so that people can be told.
The main reason I'm not working BT this year is because of this fact, it was so darn hard to stay smiley, supportive and be public facing, when people had put the effort in, in that heat, and the best I could suggest to them was that they took a selfie of their rubbish by the Eco bond sign and email it to BT.
    A real good opportunity missed.

The eco bond sucks for myself and my wife as we literally don’t have any rubbish to dispose of at the end of the festival.
Also, we seen people just ditching their bags of rubbish because they didn’t want to stand in a very long queue just to get a tenner back.

@@waynebelfast I think the reason for it is solid, there is so much rubbish, old tents, broken chairs etc etc, left at BT each year, it's actually quite shameful.
I think it's felt that if there is some financial value given to clearing up then more people do so. I just want the systems that are put in place to make this work, to actually happen.
Very well done if you don't create any rubbish at all, but if you do create rubbish and are being decent and putting it in the bin areas early, might I suggest that you keep a bag back and get your eco bond, this year £20, back on your way out.
If you don't make any rubbish, that's really amazing, well done, but if you want your £20 back then maybe pick up what recycling you can and collect your bond, as well as helping to make BT people seem like people who care.

Was the same this year, you pay the bond, tidy up at camp and let them have the bond 😂

It's amazing what litter bugs people are there, if people didnt drop there litter t& they didnt have to do such a massive clean up there would be room for cheaper tickets or new stages. The whole floor is covered. I don't understand the mind set to drop it on the floor, personally I've never done it. Maybe not enough recycling station & bins but still hold it until you find a bin is normal.
