Huge respect for letting the big female go
As much as I like eating fish, I like catching fish more. That one was more important so I can catch more next year!
Anybody who would release a big female rather then eat it is a true sportsman. Unless it is going on the wall of course. Great vids Elia
It's alway's good when Mario's cooking!
Mario seems cool af. He'd be like the godfather friend that can throw down on some good eats.
Sushi Bear the kind to chase you out of the restaurant for criticising his spaghetti 😂
That's a good cook that
Lol. Ive never chased anyone out for not liking the food, only for being rude to staff or guests.. Taste is arbitrary, civility is absolute.
@@thetruth9952 Elias repays me with friendship and fishing. Im a lucky guy have a gentleman like elias as a friend.
My wife thought i was watching a Brooklyn cooking show. Thanks Mario for the brilliant recipe. I'll be firing up the grill next week
Great video AGAIN. Mario is a cooking machine. Looks great! Can't wait to see your NC videos. Good luck in your next chapter. Take care. Tight lines!
My favorite combo video! Elias fishing and Mario cooking!
Hearing green bass for a largemouth or black bass to be technical is crazy, just shows everyone has their own language
Been cooking for 34 years...and just learned some Great tips👍💪💯
I love Crappie fishing. I've caught many many really good ones over the years. Done my share of catch and release and my share of filleting and eating them. Thanks for this post.
I have never been into fishing throughout my whole life, but your channel makes me want to try it. I really enjoy your videos man.
Dude.. NC is the right move for you, no doubts, but don’t forget your roots. Keep that ‘exclusive’ link intact. Fishing and cooking is a sport and an art. Me, My kids... and my mom love relating and learning. Thank you for delivering both.
Mario, that looks AMAZING!!! SMELLIVISION!!!!🎣🎣🎣🥂🍽
Thank you, we followed the cooking end of your video and the fish turned out perfectly!
Thanks guys 👍, Crappie is one of my favorite fish, love the recipe...
The guy who cooked the fish at the end is charasmatic as hell
My cousin Franci, says im not as charismatic as my dad was. I'll show him this post. That'll teach him!lol

I love to watch your cooking vids , I am an angler and a cook and l love fish. What gives me a chuckle is the amount of oil and herbs you coulda cooked a horse ! - - Keep em comming!
Great video Elias. As a guy from Brooklyn, I love how Mario (and you too for that matter) just embody being a New Yorker...but not so much that you shake your head and cringe. Really authentic, one of the reasons I've always liked your vids.
Mario, I am moving in, I will sleep in the garage even if you have one! Off the charts great job to both of you I was so depressed and then found this vid. Amazing, I could smell it way down here in MO. More please guys, thanks....

Discovered this 2 years after the fact. What a great video.
First NC catch-and -cook whole grilled trigger fish! Making me hungry already.
A great video mate, simple fishing, easy cooking done right. Mario seems like a great bloke.
Those are GIGANTIC crappie. One of the best eating fish that swims. Those could eat the ones around here in Eastern PA. Can't wait for a Snow's Cut flounder video!
your quality of vids ( content) is always top notch! thanks for taking us along!
Nicely done...both fishing, and cooking! Great presentation on the whole fish, Mario. Thanks for the insights. I will make this. All the best. Ed
Guys one of the best de-scaling technique I've discovered is running a sank full of cool water and scaling the fish submerged, not only it eliminate scale from flying everywhere, it almost eliminate that fish gut scent as well
I can’t wait to try this! Kudos to your Dad! Looks amazing!
Great video, Fantastic cooking and recipe. Yes thank you Mario! I would love to see Mario cook some whole sheepshead and on the half shell.
I've never seen crappie prepared like that before! You learn something new everyday! Good job with the video and the cooking.
First time Grilling Crappie, followed your instruction, came out great! Thanks.
Looks good. I love crappie. Deep fried filets quickly in cornmeal in peanut oil works well too. Thanks for the video.
Going to miss your NY fishing videos. Especially the Jamaica Bay fluke, weakfish, and striper videos. But I am also looking forward to the new chapter in your fishing adventures while living and fishing in NC. Looking forward to seeing your new videos from there. Hope your move goes nice and smooth too. Best of Luck Elias!
Crappie are always great tasting. Mario should continue with the catch and cook on UA-cam, I know I would watch. You can let him know that I save all of his catch and cooks with you. Don’t worry, there are some great lakes where you’re headed that have crappie. See ya soon Eli and I’ll be waiting for the arrival video.
Thats awesome. Im keeping these on my memory stick for when senility sets in.
Great video! I hope you have a safe trip! Looking forward to your next video.
Great fishing, responsible harvesting, delicious looking fish. Awesome video, keep up the good work.
That looks awesome , by far my favorite catch and cook! Good luck on your move!
This vid is a great find! Thank you!!!
Gonna let my nephew in on Mario’s restaurant. Next time I’m in Jersey we will be there. Used to eat at Villa Borghese on Bath Ave. Man this looks serious. Used to fish the Brooklyn shore line all of Raritan Bay , Boston on down to Hatteras . Life was fishing trip. Just great video guys, thanks, Tommy. Incidentally I had to throw this in. I once watched Michael LaMonico cook a shad and it’s roe on create tv. He had just returned from fly fishing for them on the Delaware river. I have been into this for 30 years and in 2009 I decided to go with a spey rod, that was the ticket. I have a great story to tell about it. Next time. Tight lines y’all.
Need to invite Mario down to NC. This video is the best!
Great video as usual Elias!Lots of luck on the move. Looking forward to videos from a new area.
That was great man, I love how much passion you have for fishing and how much passion your mate is for cooking, I really hope you do videos together again. Good luck with the move, much love from BC!

Oh thank you so much for cooking the panfish whole! I am so tired of seeing people try to filet anything under a foot long! You might as well just go buy it from the supermarket.
Love your vids with Mario.
Those are some massive crappies! Good job.
I learned more about grilling fish in this video than ive learned in the past 27 years of life. Ive been doing everything wrong.
Mario is the man!
Man, I really enjoyed this video. Now I'm craving grilled crappie or snapper.

That was a great way to prepare crappie! Never seen that and looked great! Thanks and I've enjoyed all your vids!
Wow now that looks like chef city..i do the same thing with chicken stuff the whole chicken with herbs. taste so good and smells good too; great recipe, love how you guys did the oil on the grill without making it flame up great catch clean and cook excellent.
Crappie fishing looks like so much fun when you can get on em' .I've fished yellow perch, small-mouth bass, large-mouth bass, trout, bullhead, rock bass, etc...but 3 fish I've only ever caught one or 2, crappie and white perch, and silver bass. I live right next to lake Ontario and I've never caught a crappie out of it.
Nicely done... thanks for sharing !
When he flipped that first one over we said DAMN at the same time.
Love the vids and love learning from Mario we'll miss him I know you will too

This is awesome!! I am almost tempted to cook a fish whole.
17th St Fish Market Miami. Bit of a sketch area but best cooked whole fish ever. Pick out your snapper mangrove snapper and tell them cook it. No tourist either. They wouldn't ever ever ever go there lol
Crappie is the best fish to catch!
Absolute wonderful recipe!!! I love crappie. Will be checking his restaurant out
I never have had grilled whole fish that impressed me, but this looks like it could be a game changer! Thumbs up for the chef!
Man I'm going to miss the videos with Mario when you go to NC. I love him on the catch and cook.
We have to convince Elias to fly me down regularly - first or business class of course. Mario dont fly couch.
msdibiase agreed. Elias has to get you a first class flight down there to cook up some more fish. Always look forward to the catch and cooks you do. I actually learned a lot of good tricks from this video.
xIEm1n3m im glad you do. Besides having a good time and good food, these videos are for sharing knowledge, tips and techniques
Loved this one educational and interesting, ppl need to start watching your vids I just ran in to someone today that buys your jigs
infactuated by the cooking lesson, took me back.
All of that prep work you do on that crappie we do for redfish baked in an oven with red Italian gravy. The crappie we cook Southern fried in a Cajun butane deep firer ( no heads). Ummm good. thanks for the video.
I like it the old fashion way it’s looking good all the spices on
Great video and technique to cooking those! I actually licked my screen LOL
Mario must have a lot of experience stuffing things in little slits...
He really needs his own youtube channel.
Wonderful video you possess right here.
Another awesome video! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Awesome cooking Mario. Gotta send him up some fish from NC and do a catch cook still. Good luck on your new adventure Elias.
Man is a heck of a cook and I would love to try his cooking.. also I would bring him fish anytime I would clean them for him to cook .. I just don't have the patience to do all this as amazing as it looks and sounds, I just can't do it all
