Hey everyone! I have a huge favor to ask. If you enjoyed the video, please see if you've liked the video and subscribed to the channel. It helps immensely in keeping the channel going and making more Godot-focused content. Thanks 🙏 Check out Backpack Battles! BACKPACK BATTLES ►► store.steampowered.com/app/2427700/Backpack_Battles/
These two have always been very impressive (especially with how well they work together) and I love their videos, so glad they were able to achieve something so monumental :))
Thanks so much for this very inspirational video! I am coder myself and after playing tons of card games, decided to try out creating my own one with Godot. Interview provided me so many details I didn't even know I need to know. And what's even more important, motivation to create some working demo in few months just as you did!
Halls of torment sold over 1mill they had an announcement recently. Phenomenal game and the only game I've only done achievements in , because they're reasonable and doable for us mortals !
I think it's great you do these videos and I want to thank you. As a constructive criticism, I'm a bit saddened there were no questions on Godot, their use of it, etc. Your channel really push Godot, and so I was kind of expecting at least 1-2 question on Godot.
Small nuance but they actually went after a smaller concept (I thought this was a game jam project?) and after it showed some promise, they naturally just kept going with it. No chance they crammed a couple years worth of ideas into a design doc and then said "ok, lets do it". I think there is a good conversation to be had about how long it takes most of us to get something out there (if ever) and to start evaluating the.... or is it, our... potential. I'm certainly one of those afraid to release my partially made games.
About player feedback and complaints, it reminds me of the League of Legend dev saying: "people would complain about things we had not even changed, saying the game was now much slower... so we pushed a patch saying we improved networking, made it so the visible ping to always be under 100, and all of a sudden everyone is praising us for how much better the game is. lol"
another proof of me being totally out of the curve. I bought the game and refunded in about 30 minutes, its boring and it gets tiresome fast, the art is bland to say the least too. I wish I could enjoy these things and understand why normal people enjoy it too
I hate those lazy intros. Just copy & paste stuff that happens later in video anyway feels like it wastes my time. Also makes me feel like content creator isn't confident about quality of their video keeping attention all the way if u feel like u need to trick audience wirh cheap american reality tv kinda "hook". And it isn't a great hook either cuz the format is just interview.. "ooh, whats gonna happen next"... ... ... uh... they are gonna answer. Also also this also makes it feel like u don't respect the viewers ability to make decisions themselves. This video might have a lot of good information but i didn't even reach minute 2 and am out ->

5:18 Dorothea's smile when you mentioned the artwork she did was the most wholesome thing I've seen all day.
I used to watch all their videos so glad to see they are doing well. Thanks for the content!
These two have the most hilarious videos... they got me into Godot. Much love to them and congrats on the success.
They really deserve all of the success!!
they are awesome people and they have been a great impact on the godot community !
I knew about their channel and about backpack battle, but didn't know they were the ones who made it. Love to see them doing well
Two of my favorite UA-cam channels together in one glorious video, I loved it! 😊
Great interview. Thank you for sharing.

More interviews, it's pretty nice and good luck and congrats to the devs! :)
Subscribed before I even liked...just because of the great questions you asked. Very helpful info and cool to hear about a successful Godot game.
Thanks for subscribing!
man your channel just gets better and better!

Nice vid! Would have loved to see more questions about Godot itself but it's fine

Didn't know they made Backpack Battles. I have watched some of their videos when learning some Godot tips.
Amazing success! They achieved what many people only dream about.
I liked these talks, but I would have liked them to be more like a two-way conversation than an interview.
Great interview, I loved watching their videos.
A really good game. I'm happy for them.
Godot plushie spotted!
Cool interview. Very informative.

Good interview!
Aaw! I love these guys. They're so adorable and such an inspiration
Really nice video. Would have loved if you asked them questions on revenue, share, and overall finances.
I love the game. I bought it directly after trying the demo. Now playing nearly every day.
I'm so happy for them
This couple is too adorable.
when r u going to work on your fps shooter again? those videos were so fun and helpful to watch
Was hoping to see Dorothea conduct the interview with her fish microphone. :(

bro you did them wrong with that thumbnail, they both look so much better in the video than the thumbnail 💀
Don't lie. They look better in thumbnail.

Lmao
Congrats to them but... dude has a phd in CS and is using Godot to make a 2D game... Bro.
Have you played the game? It’s fire
