My favorite Rolex term is "waitlist".
I’m DEAD
Thats the term i hate the most
Winner 🤣
Thanks for the weekend laugh. Waitlist..... hahahah
😂
The more I learn about Rolex, the more I love this brand. Thank you for filling in some gaps. I wished you had talked more about that and the other marketing campaigns, Hans Wilsdorf was a genius.
3:11 some brands even have reference numbers sounding like international telephone numbers, some people even tried to phone these LOL 😆🤣😂
Nice, interesting and funny lecture for novices and passers by ! Well done boys !
Rolex 904L steel is also referred to as Unobtainium!!!
Nice video. Thank you.
Great video!! 👍🏻
THANK YOU!
Thanks ...I new some of that but not all..very well done, and GLASSES there not that bad lolol
Thank you for knowing how to pronounce the word specificity!
Entertainment at its finest :)
I've known all of this for years, but I still enjoy these videos :)
Can you do a video highlighting the evolution of the explorer 2? When the reference number changed, when the bracelets changed, which serial numbers had the 3186, how many years tritium vs Luminova vs SuperLuminova last, etc? Thx
Vintage watch collecting still makes no sense to me. But I am an glad that there are people collecting and preserving historic timepieces.
Often times vintage watches are cheaper and easier to obtain. Also styles have changed dramatically throughout the years so it's about whatever you like the most.
Great video. Older sead-dwellers have no cyclops. Any others?
Hey romelo,
You are correct. Up until the newest release Sea Dwellers did not have a cyclops because originally Rolex could not insure it would stay intact at the rated depths.
@@CrownandCaliber and the current deep-sea too
Rolex Sea-dweller Deapsea does not have a cyclops.
Thanks
How do you trademark "cyclops"? Why do they confuse "automatics" with true watches with perpetual calendars?
I love this snobby Rolex stuff. For me it’s entertainment.
Deep Sea has no cyclops
The Deepsea 126660 doesnt have a cyclops
So not all rolex’ with a date function have a cyclops
3035, and 1570 are important too
My Relox Nautilus Professional brought me here.😆
The most important phrase ‘pistol whipped’ is what is best associated with Rolex.
is there a nickname for a rolex with an All bue bezel?
out of curiosity, what is the watch on your wrist during the video??
Rolex Datejust 16200 Silver Stick Dial
@@CrownandCaliber Beautiful
2:00 this is incorrect. The sea-dweller does not have a cyclops.
This one does: ref 126600
*deepsea*. www.rolex.com/watches/sea-dweller.html
This one doesn’t www.rolex.com/watches/sea-dweller.html
Not entirely RottenPJ. The current reference 126600 released in 2017 does have a cyclops. But any reference before would not. Thanks for watching.
Yes sorry, I meant the Deepsea specifically without the cyclops.
I have a certified Rolex GMT Master II Black, G Serial I bought thru a reputable AD. Who in fact had taken the watch in trade. They sent it back to Rolex for a complete service at like $900. They then offered it to be as part of there estate sales section. The watch came with a two year warranty and all kinds of paper work and and insurance certificate as to value. There was a minor issue with it and within a month I sent it back to Rolex through the Ad. It came back and works great and has been slightly better Than +2 a day. My question is why doesn't my watch have the laser etched crown at the 6oclock position or anywhere else. By the way this only bothers me when someone like you guys mentions it as how it should be there. Love the watch and when I got it looked brand new.
I believe all pre 2002 watches don’t have the laser etched crown. Hope this helps you.
Mr. Perpetual is correct, but a G serial would be a Ceramic GMT Master II 116710, so it should have it. It is probably on the crystal, they are just super difficult to find. AND since it went to Rolex for service there is a chance you have a "Service" LEC crystal which would have a tiny "S" in the coronet.
A tip on locating the LEC. Shine a bright light from 12 o'clock across the crystal and then look from 6 o'clock, being careful to not look directly into the light. Also make sure you're using a loupe to magnify the LEC. Good luck!
Why isn’t the Kermit ( a submariner) also an oyster watch? I thought all water proof watches were also oyster watches?
Why do Rolex put all the attributes on the dial? Too much text! Would look much better without the crowded dial.
Once they declutter the dial, the current models will skyrocket in price.🚀🤑😆
It's the need to boast about what features they got.
No cyclops on older Rolex Sea Dweller 😋
My 2019 chromalight is still green, any ideal why?
Fake
Gray market dial swap maybe?
Not all Rolex watches with a date have a cyclops.
I'm going to start calling my watch the Speedmaster Perpetual
Uhhh... no. It's a SpeedMaster Automatic or Professional? Be proud of what you wear. Omega's horological history is superior to Rolex.
@@alwong604 Omega is superior to Rolex in every way except marketing, and special editions.
How did you not mention President or Oyster Bracelet??!!
No wrist watch check?! I'd laugh if it wasn't a Rolex, lol
Outcast: people not to be offered steel sports models (me).
Well the statement about all Rolex watches with a date having a cyclops is not so. Case in point the sea-dweller deepsea with the extra large case. 😁
Some sea dwellers have no cylcops on dates right? Just checking... unless I bought a fake.
Y'all pointing out the sea dwellers and deepseas with no cyclops... Cellini sitting there like 👁️👄👁️
Not every Rolex has a Laser Etched Coronet. My James Cameron doesn't. I went to the Rolex shop and yes, it was genuine and no, it didn't have one. They said not all af them have one. Especially the latest versions with the crown on the dial on 6 o'clock.
it started in 2018 i believe, so if you have an older model that would make sense.
116600 do not have any cyclops 😄
Note not every Rolex with a date has a cyclops - deepsea
Rolex vocabulary: skinny handset, silly cyclops, dial full o’ text.
meh nvm... at this rate the next video will ask me to sleep with the AD reps to boost my chances lol
BS spider and tropical no go.
I know how to speak Rolex!........DON’T BUY ONE!!! Buy an Omega. 🕶✌🏻
Shade thrown! haha!
Rolex sea dweller dont have cyclopes over date
no cyclopes over a seadweller...i just trolled you.
Great video! Unpopular opinion - Rolex model nicknames are tacky and don't fit the elevated brand identity. Sorry not sorry!
Hey! We love people sharing their opinions. Thank you!
@@CrownandCaliber Muah!
yep, I find them very childish
I've been told that Rolex just tolerates them and doesn't refer to the nicknames in house.
Hmmm, Rolex bump.
meh
Rolex, Rolex, Rolex ....... Not only are there more luxurious watches, technically superior watches, better pedigreed watches, watches that are bred from actual watchmakers, watches that were BUILT in-house, Rolex watches are butt ugly. It turns a watch that should cost no more than $4,000 into $10-12,000+. I guess there really is a sucker born every minute. Yes, I am here to troll Rolex, not Crown and Caliber.
Feedback: NEVER do the old “oh, I didn’t see you there” nonsense. Super lame.
Pretty sure he was doing it ironically...
Rolex strapped to her neck?????
Haha yep, Nutash kotwal! Think more like a necklace rather than a choker.
Thanks. Rolex is overrated and overpriced.
