Awesome little intro on the CAN network. This was a good jumping off point for my UA-cam education on this system. I spent several years working on off road military diesel trucks and now I work on Volvo and paccar products. I was completely dumbfounded by the CAN network when I began working on these vehicles because the older military stuff was just so much simpler.

It's growing in popularity due to fewer and fewer people understanding the basics of SPI-UART-TWI due to the reduction in education quality, while automotive industry is growing in size and demanding more and more people thus flooding itself with the undereducated.
CAN feels like a loose corporate wunder-term. Mentioned the CAN at a job interview? YOU'RE IN!

Has nothing to do with the lack of people not knowing these systems due to a lack of quality in education lol...
Has everything to do with the industry, the only thing that matters is cost and reliability.

I'm looking into these systems because as a mechanic i was wondering how these systems work internally. I learned that certain wires that read battery Pos after key on are reading ground with key off.
The whole ignition system read continuity to ground on each fuse that had to do with the ignition system. All for safety reasons ie, parking brake, nuetral safety switch, etc. When unplugging the sub controller the continuity to ground went away.
I would love to understand how they work internally. The only reason i figured out about that ground / positive jive is because someone tried splicing into the key on wire from the switch to relay box for the LP lock off solenoid (fork lift) not realizing it had going as well.
It's like magic having both ground and positive other than for coils.

Prove you know. What could cause can h and can l dropping to 0.06v after customer put jump leads round the wrong way. Only ecu not speaking but when checking it works. So what could be the fault
