Shawn Smith of Satchel, Pigeonhed and Brad performs this beautiful rendition of Purple Rain in tribute to the late great Prince, live at the Folk House Bristol, UK, Friday 24th April 2015. Dubbed "One of the greatest rock vocalists of all time" by Mojo Magazine, this was a rare chance to see Shawn perform solo, in a beautiful, intimate setting.

The dynamics on this performance are so good. Pauses, inflections, loud, soft. He was truly a master. Rest in Peace, Shawn Smith. So much love.

damnit. just damnit RIP one of the few vocalists that could give me chills by barely singing at all...
Not a dry eye in the house when Shawn sings. But nobody was sad. Joyful tears. Got to see him a dozen times or so. Every time I would be in a good mood all week knowing the show was coming.
This is one of those epic performances. If you were there and you heard it, you knew you'd witnessed history.
Shawn is the most beautiful man on the planet. I am so in love with him and he is so talented for real! Mad love for Shawn and yes this is an amazing version of Purple Rain.

It saddens me that it took me until this man had already passed to discover his music. This is what being a musician is about, and words can't express what I would have given to see him live. Long live Shawn❤

Did you ever find out? I'm not sure about the earlier part but it sounds like the last couple lines are from Chloe Dancer (MLB) before he starts the Wrapped lyrics.
