    Mate, I got the smaller 8331 (+ 7350 sub) in 2021 and made *the exact* same stank face when I first heard them. I couldn't believe how good they sound, especially after calibration.

    I too bought them recently, a pair of Genelec 8341A. And yes, it's like being born again with new pair of ears. Even on UA-cam I could hear much more detail than ever before! It's almost scary how pristine is the sound they produce!

      Curious - how is the bass output on the low end with the 8341A alone and not using a sub?

    1 tiny issue that I noticed. Did you move the location of the monitors AFTER setting the SAM? If so you will want to reset the SAM while the monitors are in the exact location that they will be in while using them. They will sound even better. 😉 I can't wait to add a pair to my own studio by the way. Genelec 8341's are on my 'to get' list.

    Since the Genelec recommended listening distance is between 1.3 meters (4'-3") and 1.5 meters (4'-11") those speakers would be better served on stands behind the desk. The 8341A user manual states on page 2 Typical listening distances can range from 1 meter to 3 meters depending on room size and SPL requirements. The user manual also shows a diagram on page 4 (figure 5) with them on stands behind the desk.

    • @sergeyleps8492
      @sergeyleps8492 Рік тому

      What are you talking about buddy))) Be careful and read the reliable information on the official website. They indicate the distance for this series of 3-way coaxial monitors starting from 40 centimeters!!! These are the only coaxial monitors with which you can accurately control from 40 centimeters. All other monitors of the usual 3-way configuration will really be able to open Only from 1 meter or more.

      @@sergeyleps8492 Nope that is the NOT recommended red zone distance. The recommended Listening Distance and Sound Pressure Level chart on the official Genelec website for the 8341A is less than a 0.5 meter distance (50 centimeters or less) is the red area and is NOT a recommended distance. 1 meter and up is the green area and the minimum recommended distance. In fact, the 8341A user manual clearly states on page 2 Typical listening distances can range from 1 meter to 3 meters depending on room size and SPL requirements. The user manual also shows a diagram on page 4 (figure 5) with them on stands behind the desk.

    • @FatLarry-h4z
      @FatLarry-h4z 9 місяців тому

      The 8331 diagram in the manual has that model also on stands behind the desk so it doesn't matter if you get 8331 or 8341 the listening distance is the same near field but 8341 has lower bass extension and more powerful.
      The listening chart red zone for the coaxial ones is green for 0.5m and not even red under 0.5m but orange which doesn't mean bad just means not optimal.

      Nothing wrong with the Scarlett. Converters has improved tremendously the last 10 years and in 2023 the sonic difference between a 400$ and a 4000$ converter is extremely minimal.

    • @gitarman666
      @gitarman666 9 місяців тому

      That’s what Behringer said when I bought the 8200 ultra for 8 spdif adat for my Apollo x6 rack
      and then I used a ten year old
      Audient asp880 and it was night and day
      But in support of quality converters today sure then exist in less expensive gear they have for some time but the difference between a $300 cirrus logic or AKM converter chip in the 8200 and a $1300 burr brown asp880 is that the former is bottom to low mid quality and performance the BB is mid to high mid
      But get into something like Crane Song Solaris dac for high end editing and mastering.
      1. greatly increased depth resolution
      My recordings always have a lot of depth and this dac presented the depth in a way that no other dac has done.
      2. tonally more accurate than other dacs--all frequencies very defined. Change from Benchmark was revolutionary. Bettered the DAD we have here. Bettered the PrismSound we have here.
      3. hyper detailed sound without exaggeration
      That being said
      it's the design and implementation of the various support circuits around them (power supplies, voltage references, clock, analog stages, etc.) that is likely to make as much, if not more, difference to the overall sound
      and those wrappers are not on the lower priced gear
      You gotta look at the big picture of that $4000 converter I did not want to spend $8000 for Neve Shelfords and I had plenty of time to try them out and send them back
      But that simply is not happening they are that good
      If you really can’t hear it as your track count multiplies, and your stacking, quad guitar tracks,
      Keys, horns, overly miked drum kits
      Deep, edit effects that are invisible on most gear
      And still get a crisp detailed lead vox track punching through
      Then maybe you need to invest in much better near fields, cans or and I do not mean this as an insult some folks just can’t hear it. I can’t tell you how many “producers” i’ve met in my 44 years that don’t know how to use a compressor correctly or even hear the differences in detail changes made on the hardware, they just can’t hear it
