The "wobble" you are talking of is in fact "tremolo". I am a Hammond organ player and de tremolo effect can only be made by a complicated machine, a Leslie speaker system. Connected to the organ you can switch from "slow" (classical organ) to "fast" for theater organ, jazz ... Amplifiers, electro motors, speakers and rotating speakers are needed to obtain "tremolo" effect (is not vibrato). Tremolo is the quick repeating of the same tone. So we build heavy machines to obtain this special effect, but when a human singer has got the effect from nature, it is not good ? (Did Katherine Jenkins swallow a Leslie when she was a little girl ?) Well it's simply a matter of like or dislike, but I don't think that Katherine has much control over that effect in her voice, but I can be wrong. I like it, but I am accustomed to it. I hope that this was not too annoying to read. I only wanted to make clear that the tremolo in the voice of KJ is rather a gift than a problem.
Sir Arthur Sullivan would have loved her musical ability but WS Gilbert would never have allowed her on stage at the Savoy as her enunciation is poor and you can’t make out the words
