This is by far the best KH 1.5 movie out there. I love the small bits of gameplay thrown in. Other "movies" just show the cutscenes and they end up looking kinda choppy.
Just imagine how confused Kairi must be ^^;; She goes to her island to investigate a storm, and little black creatures literally tear out her soul, and the last thing she remembers is seeing Sora walk into a cave. Then she wakes up, several weeks later, to see Sora explode into balls of light while a giant, bipedal duck screams for him, and the glowing spirit of her other friend stops a tall dark man from attacking her. She then runs away from the dark creatures that attacked her on the island, and hugs one of them, who immediately blows up into light, and appears as Sora again.

I don't know why they couldn't have let him on. Donald just says no because he said so; he doesn't even give a believable reason as to why he didn't let Riku join them. And considering that Riku easily joins Maleficent when she gives him an obvious lie that can be disapproved of no problem, you can see that the rivalry tension between Sora and Riku in this game needs a bit more work for it to make sense.
Some moments transcend gaming. Some moments can reach us on such a deep level that you don't quite understand it. That's what I feel about this moment 04:32:28 It is such a beautiful scene, it always gets me nostalgic for great times that I have lived through with friends and family. As much as fans would enjoy that scene to be about romantic love between Kairi and Sora, I think it's really more about friendship. It certainly has strands of romance for sure, at least for me, it's about the unbreakable bond between friends. The scene was great with "Simple and Clean" but we had to remove it for copyright reasons. But truly, I believe that by some random luck, adding Kyle Landry and Josh Chiu's version of "Passion" makes this scene even better (if that's possible). Cutting together game movies isn't a glamorous business: we are simply the middle men to greater and much more talented story tellers. But when song and visuals come together so beautifully, I can't help but to feel grateful for being able to partake, in some way, with this wonderful industry. Gamer's Little Playground I could not agree more. Especially about how it reminds you of times you have lived through with friends and family. I'm 23 now but when I watch that scene it brings back so much of how I was when I was young, what I felt at that time and.... Well I could honestly cry watching it now.
I would hate for that to happen. I love KH to such a huge degree, but the way Cartoons/movies/Anime seem to ruin a lot of their original stuff, or keep it going until it's ran into the ground would kinda ruin it for me at least. There is a reason why so many FF games are out yet only 4 movies.

I love that first step Riku takes into the Dark. "I'm not afraid of the Darkness!" Easily the best step into the dark anyone's ever made in Kingdom Hearts because of the unknown factor of what happens next.
Yeah Riku was a bit of jerk in this game but he was manipulated by the darkness. But after a while he became a good guy again at the end and became a Keyblade Master.
Kingdom Hearts changed my life, the way I view stories and friendships and will forever be the cornerstone of fictional story telling for me as a writer. I weep for the love and gentleness of the youth, and their ability to believe in truth and love in the face of utter horror. This game taught me to believe. Thank you Square Enix. Ironic considering this game's story is the easiest to understand in the entire franchise. The rest just go on a downward spiral and progressively forget to justify their actions with logical reasoning. Also, why is AnsemSOD wasting time belittling Sora with a subject matter he wouldn't be able to know? This is the hero and villain of the story meeting up for the first time and it goes nowhere. Like... what was the point of that scene?

Did it occur to anyone else that in Neverland when Sora called out to Kairi and she subconsciously reached towards him, that she was actually reaching for her own heart? I know it kinda defeats the purpose of the whole love scenario, but it's just a thought that occurred.
Wow.. I played this as a kid and by the end I lost what was going on, and didn't understand the ending. See it again now and.. this is incredible. Had chills as Kairi was walking through the island alone.
It makes sense because Genie isn't allowed to kill them. A Kingdom Hearts game making sense: what nonsense is this?! In all seriousness, Jafar should just use the second wish to become the most powerful sorcerer-Sultan in the world and fight them himself.

Kath Soucie's voice work as Sora's mother was my favorite part of this already amazing game. The way she announces 'dinner's ready' perfectly captures the moment and reminds me of something my own mother would say, when dinner is ready. The second time she says 'Sora?' just brings chills to my spine, because you can just hear the sudden shift in tone to pure angst and desperation as soon as she realizes her boy fled off, and might be about to go on some epic adventure with a strange dog and duck, fighting heart-stealing creatures and an evil senior with multiple bodies. I know my mum would be terrified at the thought of that. 10/10

I love it when Jafar says "the child's strength is not his own". I know he means the power comes from the keyblade, but that could be a statement towards Ventus too. I wonder if they'd planned that far ahead yet :)
None of this was planned from the beginning that's why the story is overly convoluted and nonsensical in parts. They retconned a ton. It's why things in 1 that seem like big story points are dropped or made into nothing in later games. I like the series, but Nomura is also his own worst enemy in development.
That's because most of the characters were voiced by the original actors. There are a few exceptions, Hercules is voiced by Sean Astin, for example. Genie and Phil are voiced by Dan Castellaneta and Robert Costanzo, respectively, but they only half count, since both voiced those characters in other media before KH.

While they were great games I think the magic of the first chapter was never recaptured in the entire series , in KH1 you felt the cross over with disney the worlds were important for the story and meeting FF characters here and there was a joy , after this the disney worlds felt like filler till the original story focused ones
ya, well in KH1 each world was more involved with the main story than KH2. as in KH2 you just explored the worlds and handled their problems. they were less involved with the main story so it felt like alot of filler
Some people think that games are a waste of time but they don't know what power games and movies like this hold they can change life's and help us on our own road we learn great life lessons from them😌. (And have fun in the process😋)

Kingdom hearts is the ultimate game in terms of story animation and gameplay It's really ahead of it's time It's better than any movie, book cartoon or anime (except for yugioh maybe)

I was confused about that too, but later I found the missing cutscene. In the gummi ship, Donald says he doesn't think the king could be in a "backwater" place like Deep Jungle. Sora thinks Riku and Kairi might be there, so he and Donald fight over the ship's controls and crash on the world.
Sounds like there's stuff missing from this video of the games that I will probably still remember... I played the early KH games hundreds of times over. Even made certain to memorize the scripts, printed them out myself to take to school and everything. I still honestly don't know why I did that other than it really helped me remember the storyline.
It took me fours years I was 7 when I first started playing Kingdom hearts. when kingdom hearts II was announced I was 11, and determined to finish this Boss. And now I’m 24 and I finished KHIII with in a month 😅 I need to go back and do critical tho.
This is my favorite game in the series. The story and character arcs are great and contained. The gameplay is simple; level design small, interactive and charming. absolutely love it.

I remember watching this when I didn't know what Final Fantasy was. Now when I watch this, I facepalm really hard because I didn't know where Aerith or Cloud were from or why they were there.
Never got to play KH as a kid since I only had a gamecube growing up and not a PS2. Finally after 15 years I'm able to play all the games in the series on one console ( I just finished playing KH1 Final Mix) and I'm absolutely loving every single minute of the journey
I’m 25 years old and since the first game came out I always wanted to play this game and today I finished the game after a long break. I started to play it at December. I played last year FFXV through and honestly I have to admit Kingdom Hearts is the most powerful game. Once again Square Enix broke me down in tears and I’m excited to play the next parts on my PS4. I grew up with Disney and got a Faible for Japanese productions and it was a complex, beautiful and painful experience to play this game. Ansem was the most difficult opponent I ever faced before. I heard from friends he was easy on PS2 well on PS4 he’s a badass. I’m patiently waiting for Part III and the sweet thing is I never surfaced the other parts beside 1.5 and so I can cope the time by playing.

Did it occur to anyone else that in Neverland when Sora called out to Kairi and she subconsciously reached towards him, that she was actually reaching for her own heart? I know it kinda defeats the purpose of the whole love scenario, but it's just a thought that occurred.

Kath Soucie's voice work as Sora's mother was my favorite part of this already amazing game.
The way she announces 'dinner's ready' perfectly captures the moment and reminds me of something my own mother would say, when dinner is ready.
The second time she says 'Sora?' just brings chills to my spine, because you can just hear the sudden shift in tone to pure angst and desperation as soon as she realizes her boy fled off, and might be about to go on some epic adventure with a strange dog and duck, fighting heart-stealing creatures and an evil senior with multiple bodies. I know my mum would be terrified at the thought of that. 10/10

None of this was planned from the beginning that's why the story is overly convoluted and nonsensical in parts. They retconned a ton. It's why things in 1 that seem like big story points are dropped or made into nothing in later games.
I like the series, but Nomura is also his own worst enemy in development.
They did a good job recreating the voices for the characters!!

That's because most of the characters were voiced by the original actors. There are a few exceptions, Hercules is voiced by Sean Astin, for example. Genie and Phil are voiced by Dan Castellaneta and Robert Costanzo, respectively, but they only half count, since both voiced those characters in other media before KH.

While they were great games I think the magic of the first chapter was never recaptured in the entire series , in KH1 you felt the cross over with disney the worlds were important for the story and meeting FF characters here and there was a joy , after this the disney worlds felt like filler till the original story focused ones

I was confused about that too, but later I found the missing cutscene. In the gummi ship, Donald says he doesn't think the king could be in a "backwater" place like Deep Jungle. Sora thinks Riku and Kairi might be there, so he and Donald fight over the ship's controls and crash on the world.

I found I wasn't enjoying the combat, the cumbersome dpad/rstick menu, fetchquesting and not knowing where to go, but was really into the cutscenes/story (despite being a "gameplay comes first" kinda guy). Time to remove everything I *didn't* enjoy and watch this!
I remember watching this when I didn't know what Final Fantasy was. Now when I watch this, I facepalm really hard because I didn't know where Aerith or Cloud were from or why they were there.
Never got to play KH as a kid since I only had a gamecube growing up and not a PS2. Finally after 15 years I'm able to play all the games in the series on one console ( I just finished playing KH1 Final Mix) and I'm absolutely loving every single minute of the journey

Man, we really can't judge a book by it's cover. I misjudged KH 1.5 and Melody of Memories. This really is an excellent game series.
I’m 25 years old and since the first game came out I always wanted to play this game and today I finished the game after a long break. I started to play it at December. I played last year FFXV through and honestly I have to admit Kingdom Hearts is the most powerful game. Once again Square Enix broke me down in tears and I’m excited to play the next parts on my PS4. I grew up with Disney and got a Faible for Japanese productions and it was a complex, beautiful and painful experience to play this game. Ansem was the most difficult opponent I ever faced before. I heard from friends he was easy on PS2 well on PS4 he’s a badass. I’m patiently waiting for Part III and the sweet thing is I never surfaced the other parts beside 1.5 and so I can cope the time by playing.

Why would anyone thumb this down, the amount of effort this must of taken, its cut fine and is proper HD and no subtitles or anything ruining it.
Oh My God. While I loved the song you chose for the last cut scene, I decided to also play the song "Everything is Alright" from the game To the Moon over the cutscene (Play the game if you haven't), and wow, that was truly powerful. Check it out! Also thanks for uploading this, I missed this game.
