The price has gone up. However, I enjoy paying more for great craftsmanship such as this genright tank. Redoing the whole fuel system on my XJ and thought, why the hell not. Just put in my order. Look at those damn welds!
How’s it going Martin I was curious you see a huge difference positives such as Obviously being able to travel longer with out fill up exactly how many miles do you get out of a tank now compared to before or negatives such as extra added cost to filling up with the extra 10.5 gallons of fuel you feel the extra weight in the rear with all that gas would make a great video doing a follow up video of your opinion on the product being that it’s been almost of a year of use
It's going pretty well thank you . As far as going further on the tank it's how many ever miles you get per gallon X to 10.5 so for me it would be around a 160 miles further. I have actually been running this tank now for 3 years. I just never posted the video until recently. Honestly I was never that happy with the footage. But after doing a lot of editing it didn't turn out too bad. Being that the fuel tank itself is rather heavy and the additional 60 + lb of fuel I did add a another leaf spring to the pack. Overall I think it's a great idea if you are the kind of person that goes on long trail rides we're normally you would bring additional fuel in separate cans this would eliminate that. I really do like the heavy duty skid plate I have dragged over a few rocks with it before and I don't even worry about it.

Should I install my frame stiffeners before or after the tank? I am thinking that if I do the weld on they should be done before tank...just wondering if that messes with the install. I really appreciate your videos.
Aren't the frame stiffeners on the outside of the frame and if so I would install them before with the fuel tank removed. Shouldn't effect the fuel tank install.
@@martinbuilt well now...that makes sense. I have not ordered the frame stiffeners yet. But...I believe I will go with weld ons. Just thinking the the Bolton would tear the frame metal in a severe enough strain?
Martin, in another video I see you have some kind of power steering filter??? Do you have a video showing that? I'm about to put a new pump in mine and a filter seems like a good idea. Thanks and I love your vids.
NVairborne - Yes I do have a power steering filter. I'm also using the Grand Cherokee power steeringpump that came with a hydraulic cooling fan. I can probably do like a walk-around video of the system that I got installed.
@martinbuilt that would be amazing! Thank you...I'm Northern Nevada but bought my XJ from Phoenix...zero rust!! Anyways, thanks for the videos, after my new engine goes in I'm doing the 30.5 gallon fuel cell next...with a buddy! lol
It does say for off-road use only but I drive it on the highway all the time. I don't know why they put that on there. Could be some kind of liability thing or something.
I like Genrights stuff but you pay a mighty price for their name. I want a bigger tank for my Tj but it has to fit inside the Savvy Gas tank skid. I like keeping the weight down if I can. The tank will be the only item I buy from Genright but 5 extra gallons is worth it.
@@martinbuilt tucking my '00 soon and would really like to fit a larger capacity tank. Of course no one stateside ever produced one and everything from over the pond has long since be discontinued. The Brown Davis tank was 34 gallons but I haven't been able to find a picture of how they accomplished that with the stock tank already so low. I feel like it would be pretty straight forward with a tuck as it's just essentially a rectangle. The XJ genright tank is up to $1,850 now, which is just absurd.

It does say for off-road use only but I drive it on the highway all the time. I don't know why they put that on there. Could be some kind of liability thing or something.
Looks like there could be issues with clearances and such. Especially with rocks and such
There is no clearance issues at the very most you're gonna lose 3/8 of an inch clearance compared to the factory fuel tank and skid plate.
Oh okay much better then I thought. I think I might go for one then. Once I finish fabricating and whatnot back around that area
Where did you get that
I forgot where I ordered it from but then it was only $890 with free shipping.
Can you put a trailer hitch on it ??????
Good question, my trailer hitch is built into the bumper but I would think you could install a hitch.

Yeah I don't know, I never thought of that 1 before. I did draw up a aluminum tank for the WJ with it being tucked. I was thinking about building one.
