Axial just took the market by surprise! This is quite literally the BIGGEST RC NEWS from the past couple of years!

The all new Axial SCX6 is a 1/6th scale trail truck that packs a ton of features which you might know from its smaller brothers and sisters. This brand new developed vehicle has licensed items and some familiar looking design elements, such as the officially licensed Jeep Wrangler JLU bodyshell, the Black Rhino rims and the BF Goodrich tires. Add a two speed gearbox, a full light kit, a scale interior and roll cage and electronics tailored for this absolute giant, and this is sure to be a huge hit with the RC community. This truck is a true engineering piece of art!
In this video I don't just show you what it looks like, we also take it for a drive so I can tell you all about how it behaves out on the trails.

ive had mine a few weeks and mostly trail drive the issue i have is it squeaks and creaks to the point of getting annoying any suggestions on how to quite it down thanks
@@deweyblackburn2047 lubricate it. Any metal on metal will benefit from some silicone spray.

Great review Chris! Thanks for your honest assessment of the new offering from Axial. Thinking that this SCX6 would look good parked next to my Axial Yeti XL. Excellent running footage, gives us a better idea of the running features of this JEEP.
You bet! It's a pretty good size comparison to the Yeti XL, thankfully and fortunately though, the quality feels far superior. And that is coming from someone who loves the YXL platform.

Here's a comparison with a full-size counterpart, such as the TNT T-Rex Jeep JK (with 43 inch tires and a 121 inch stretched wheelbase).
Width: 86" / 14.88" = 5.78 scale
Length: 182" / 33.55" = 5.42 scale
Height: 81" / 14.55" = 5.57 scale
Wheelbase: 121" / 19.74" = 6.13 scale
Weight: 6000 lbs / 25 lbs = 6.21 scale
Tire height: 43.1" / 7.0" = 6.16 scale
Rim diameter: 20" / 3.2" = 6.25 scale
How awesome would this be… with a Unimog body… 🤩 My Mini-Z 4x4 will get squashed like a bug by this thing…

I have the SBR 2.0 since about February and I'm completely hooked on large scale RC's. For me, ordering one of these was a no-brainer. Moving from 1/10 to larger scale offers a very different driving experience. I love it.
October 29th cannot come soon enough.

Too bad they come with Spectrum Radio and Servos. Otherwise WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER. Hope this bad boy comes as a KIT soon.
The DX3 that's included isn't bad, the servo can be swapped for a 5th scale one. Might try to bump the internal BEC up to 7V first though!

Pre-ordered a green one today, man. I've been waiting for a 1/5-6 scale trail truck for a while now. I leave that comment EVERY TIME it's asked what would we like to see hit the market from manufacturers. Now it has. Mine will get ALL the lights. Can't wait to see what the aftermarket brings to the table for this thing. Awesome vid man! Can't wait to see what you do with yours. 🍻👊

Man, I really like the size and the details. I'm actually kinda worried about the size, meaning is this thing going to be a "Shelf Queen"?? Do you think it's going to break apart after say, rolling over once or twice??

There’s a video on UA-cam already with a guy literally riding on it lol. Looks like he only stripped a 17mm hex when he sat on it and tried to tow his 3500lb Ford but the Ford was in park lol.
Its a shame they didn't include DIG on it.
Between dig and the 2 speed, I'm glad they decided on the 2 speed.

Not one video on UA-cam can show you the true size of this beast. This is almost 3 feet long, with many folks using a 0.5 lens you won’t see that. This is a BIG truck!!

I like your jokes. lol SCX6 looks really fun, but honestly, I like to be able to carry, and sometimes bike with my crawler. I'll probably be sticking with the 10iii JLU.
It isn't the most portable truck I own, it requires some logistical planning to run it.

Hmmm, you have an 3D printer so you can build a full interior instead off the lexan one and go crazy with it 👍. Maybe 3D print a bit bigger "engine" for upfront cos it seems a bit too small compared to the rest.

Definitely, I think the pricing is spot on. It is a lot of R&D and a massive risk to take on a project like this, I think this would not have been possible under different ownership.
I'd have to make my backyard obstacle course bigger, that thing's huge. Would that body fit on an xmaxx?

I want this truck but I have a hard time finding stuff for my tenth scale trucks to crawl on. I like 24th scale because it’s so much easier to find some crawling where it’s topographically flat like Indiana

So me being a hardcore largescale mainly 5th gas but have two electric largescale Trophy Trucks this has caught my attention big time, I may actually buy this and have my first crawler but just need to sell a kidney as I have already blown my Xmas budget with a couple of ZD racing electric vehicles and was going to get an LOSI Super Baja Rey man decisions decisions.
So good to see your name pop up, I hope you are well! I think in the long run that you will use this more and it will cost less to run than the Super Baja Rey.

the size is cool, but the rest is just "yet another Jeep Wrangler" and, for me, a SCX10 III chassis, just in big... no innovation, nothing new... really hoped for a banger, but this is just a bummer for me

These rigs seems well build as you'd expect but I just don't see them flying off the shelves. I can see folks buying them if they already have a good place to run them. I found that my 1/8 scale rig pretty much sat on the shelf. All that said, im happy to see something new from axial, but I'd rather have a 1/6 scale yeti score or new TT. They did a good job redesigning the axles, multi piece axles are necessary when ya got 20+ lbs bashing rocks, parts will absolutely break. Amazing would have been a non jeep body but once ya pay for that license ya might as well use it, ha.

If I had one I would put studded tires and snow plow on it. This is actually big enough to move something in my driveway. With a snow blower in the front it could actually do real work.

I think top speed wasn't listed as that's not really a factor in this one. You want to keep it in sight too, it can cause some harm in the wrong hands. Thank you for checking it!
@@hemistormrc I agree that it's not a normal use case for it. I just think it would be interesting to build a top speed version similar to Harley's 70mph TRX6. Lower it, Gorilla tape band the tires, Mamba Monster 8s, 2028 800kv, and 8s. Find a flat bit of road and sent it. Just to see what it does.
it's neat but its too expensive. axial better have better things up their sleeve than making 1/6 stuff
It is a lot of truck for the money, the electronics alone I'd value at 550-600 bucks.
What batteries and charger would you need to work?
Ideally some spektrum smart gear if you want to use the telemetry functions too. 3S max!
