A murderous bank robber on the run from the law hides out in a small town, where he gets a job as a cab driver. He meets a young girl who is caring for her ill but wealthy aunt. He courts her and they eventually marry. She soon discovers exactly who he is, and finds herself enmeshed in a scheme involving murder and loot from a bank robbery.

I feel that way about Robert Young who I believed must be "Father Knows Best" and now can see Mr. Young in a variety of roles--. Mr. Beaumont's bio is worth a read and did not dies young as some have said

Seen Mr. Cleaver in a few other movies. Sinister character that man was. Sure wouldn't want to have been the Beavers school teacher, reporting back to his dad. He'd like to have killed me.

In real life Hugh Beaumont was actually licensed to preach by the Methodist church. You wouldn't think so based on his performance in this movie. I guess Hugh was more versatile than we all thought. 5/2019

+jim dandy In reality, Hugh was known as one of the nicest guys in Hollywood.
+Kevin Florio some people play nice people and are mean in real life and some the opposite. that's why they call it acting
+Kevin Florio explains in part why his film career didn't go much further. He had a combination of looks and acting skills in my opinion which should have made him a leading man for a generation, but in all likelihood he was pushed aside by more aggressive and ambitious competitors for suitable roles.
Hugh Beaumont died young too. I think he was in his forties.
