Went the same way as many a BDO/WDF player he was never quite good enough, you can't play on the PDC tour and get anywhere if you're bouncing around the high 80's, even low 90s these days you'd struggle, I doubt we'll ever see him in the PDC again if I'm honest, doing well on the WDF tour but the level he's playing at there just wouldn't cut it at the PDC
Too many talented players around these days and he maybe doesn't put the effort in, happy to toot along instead of working hard to compete in the game.
Exactly this. I don’t think he’s willing to do the graft needed these days. Talent will get you so far. And maybe even a BDO world title. But times have changed. The field is deeper and a lot stronger.
@@NicolaiAwesome BDO title doesn't really mean anything other than you are acknowledged as a world champion.. Glen durant is really the only player from the BDO in recent years, who made a big impact in the PDC before his own demise in the game but most of the players coming from there or who.are there now since the BDO dissolved as such, haven't really done anything in the PDC because the PDC is the elite darts and you can't get away with 90 averages in the game if you want to win or get far in tournaments. A game or no game against the top PDC talent.
Only two PDC world champions have not played in or started out in the BDO so sorry mate that kinda blows your theory out of the water,but i do get where you're coming from it ended up being like the conference compared to the premier league.
Richie George sprung out of nowhere and went back there just as quickly. I think he was overwhelmingly lucky, but luck can't last. Didn't he end up in trouble with the law?
to be fair he was just in the masters final a couple of years ago where he lost to Clayton and then made the QF of the 2022 worlds. He has reached at least the 3rd round of the WC each of the last 5 years. i don't think there's a downfall quite yet. he ended 2022 as 28th in the world. a drop for sure, but he's still up there.
