I think you touched on a retail problem that isn't mentioned much. We look at value for the most part. But retail simply isn't fun to rip. Its alot of the same over and over again.
@@AcmePacksPanini retail is not fun to rip, however, Topps has been lately. I bought a Prizm blaster and a MLS chrome blaster at Target. I'm not big on MLS, but had more fun opening the MLS box, even though I only knew 3-4 players. Glad Panini is losing the license, Topps is killing it lately.
Not really true , watched multiple videos of guys ripping $800+ hobby boxes and getting absolute crap and then watching guys rip $40 donruss blasters or megas and getting solid hits , I got a Stroud red green optic preview yesterday from a blaster , it's truly about your luck and honestly how could paying 8x the price for a hobby be worth it when the average return is 25% of that or maybe half your money back ? Retail is the way .
For me, I only collect Packer prizm. So, I'm looking for any Packer that has variants to collect. Retail offers some opportunity for different variants, but the prices are laughable. I can literally go to a sports card shop and get most of the different colors for 0.25 cents - 1dollar. For me to spend 30 bucks on a blaster and only get maybe a few different color variants that will literally sell for a buck is stupid. Same with the hobby boxes, people spend nearly 1k dollars on a box and might get 300 back in return on the average box. I just don't understand the hobby anymore. I would figure that cards would be worth more when found in an expensive product, but nope, I can literally fill 90% of my PC with single cards that are in the 0.25 cent to 1 dollar boxes at sports cards shops. Those cards should be selling for 3-5 bucks each, considering the price per pack.
Hi Andy, I have historically stayed away from retail boxes but there is pretty good value in these boxes. Thanks for the rip and your constant service in the hobby. Have a great evening, Peter
$150 is definitely pushing it, basically paying $50 resell. In store these cost $100, I ran into 3 boxes at my target and picked one up, which I think for $100 that’s a super solid price
I just ordered a box from Walmart, I've seen some really nice rips so far. Not sure if I'm going to open it or stash it. They almost always double in price within a year.
ive been slightly lucky with prizm but i aint ripping anymore (ugh i forgot theyre releasing hanger boxes...). especially the value packs, got burned from those packs bunch of vets in the silver spot.
I agree that these are not great for $150, but they’re ok at $130, and great at $96 OTD at Target. The upside is much higher in these than any other format. $150 is too much though. I pulled that Bryce Prizmatic too! Beautiful cards. I think there’s 1 base green ice and four insert green ice per box.
I bought a standard retail box from target and a megabox from Walmart and pretty much got garbage.. I think prism released those cards at a convenient time and stuffed the premium rookies into all the hobby boxes. So the retail ones won't get anything.
I got lucky at the end and didnt think these would be worth what they are. I have a feeling the price of these cards drops a little though as more gets ripped
This seems like a pretty fun rip for $100 - $120 a box! With two kids to take care of, Panini has definitely priced me out of hobby. I think the latest hobby box was going for $1000 at my LCS 😵
Well I certainly hope my box I ordered is comparable to yours. I would call that a W. Some good cards and you easily made your money back if you wanted. Thanks for the vid 👍
Man, I didn't know these were $150 per box, at Target they are $4 per pack, so it's cheaper to buy all the packs individually. I could have done that today, I saw a newly opened box on the shelf, but just bought 4, I assumed a whole box world be better value. Anyway, I liked your review, seems like you did better than average.
Like I said before, IF you're gonna buy prizm retail, it seems like the best odds for your $$$ are the boxes of value packs. Thanks for sharing! 🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈 Take Care/Stay Safe ✌
Just bought a box , I got 3 checker boards Marcus Allen, David Njoku, Rhamode Stevenson. Green Ice I got 5 , K. Walker, Zay Jones, Pickett portals, Deebo samuel prizmatic , Aj Brown fire works. Silver I got 2 .. Nolan Smith rc, Desmond King. I got a Richardson rc , and Tank Dell, O'connell all are horribly miss cut at the top of the card. Got a Brock Purdy common which is worth up to 7.00 probably the top card I got. This product is absolute crap . The blasters are way better.
I know you don’t like this box, but you got a great box with some decent checkered boards stars and nice rookies and inserts. I think this box was worth it, I’ve seen other ppl open these and it was not as good as yours
I’m def done with Prizm this year. Blasters and megas are a joke. Value packs are meh. But the QC is non existent. Opened 12 value packs last night and at least 90% of the cards were defective with random dimples in the middle of the cards, scratched. Almost every card off center by quite a bit
Lop. The 3 Checkers and 2 big Ices pay for the box and he claims the value isn't there like what? Yea you didn't get a good box but still paid for itself.
I didnt realize what those were worth at the time. But my review still stays the same. Its not a very fun rip and at $125-150 this doesnt have fantastic value.
Not going to lie, got a handful of packs, green fireworks stroud and green ice fireworks stroud. Colts rookie checker board and then instant disappointment 😂
For $150 not my favorite. If you can find a box on the shelf they retail for $4 apiece so a box is a little over $100. I think at that price point I like the chance to pull some checkerboard and green cracked ice. Thanks as always for the rip and Go Pack Go!!!👊🍻
so all you care about is money cards and dont care about the others you guys dont know what its really like to collect cards ive been collecting for 50 yrs. and to me its no fun anymore all the fun was taken away
I hear this comment all the time from people who have been collecting a long time and my response is always the same. No one would care about the money if the boxes didnt cost so much. A box of prizm hobby today is $900 when it used to cost $120 10 years ago. But since these products cost so much now it doesnt feel great if you get skunked on a box that you spent a few hundred dollars on which is why people care about the value of the cards.
I apologize that was not my intention with this product. Mainly it was was to say this just isnt as fun of a rip as i had hoped with all of the base packs
Maybe i was a little harsh on this but at $150 a box this is a pretty boring product to rip. I was not upset about not hitting a big card. That happens all the time. There were simply too many base card packs in these boxes which is why i gave it a negative review.
Every single product in the sports card industry is only worth it if you hit something or you get something cool for your PC. The prices are too high just to open for fun anymore. Thanks to those who only view this as investments and for some reason would rather invest in sports cards than in the stock market (which will 100% provide you better returns on your money). I miss the old days when you bought boxes for fun because they where reasonably priced and people collected cards instead of bragging about how much money their hit is worth lol. I hate when the sports cards investment bro's come into the card shop and start talking like they are in the stock market.
I think you touched on a retail problem that isn't mentioned much. We look at value for the most part. But retail simply isn't fun to rip. Its alot of the same over and over again.
That wasnt my initial intention going into this video but man did it turn out that way haha

Hux is right, beyond value it’s just not fun. I’m down on Prizm right now. Not that my opinion means anything!

Thanks for the rip and your constant service in the hobby.
Have a great evening,
Peter
I’ve only bought one of these and got a silver Anthony Richardson and it got a psa 10🔥
Takes me back to waiting in line and the stocker handing me 3 of these packs and then ripping the Herbert! what a day !
$150 is definitely pushing it, basically paying $50 resell. In store these cost $100, I ran into 3 boxes at my target and picked one up, which I think for $100 that’s a super solid price
$100 is solid for this. At that price its not terribly hard to make your money back unless you get totally hosed.
@@AcmePacks yea really hard to get total skunked at that price for sure, which is all we really ask for with retail lol 😅
I pulled a silver puca and silver levis. New to the hobby and I was excited.
Those arw awesome! Congrats!
I just ordered a box from Walmart, I've seen some really nice rips so far. Not sure if I'm going to open it or stash it. They almost always double in price within a year.
These are normally a pretty good hd oto
ive been slightly lucky with prizm but i aint ripping anymore (ugh i forgot theyre releasing hanger boxes...). especially the value packs, got burned from those packs bunch of vets in the silver spot.
Think I’m a huge fan of the Prizm flashback from this year’s set.
Not a hot box, everyone gets those green inserts, the one green is the regular one. Welcome back
The Stroud green cracked ice base rookie is said to have a limited print run of 3500. That should be a fun chase 😢
If I find some I rip just to hit a checkerboard and green ice
We actually enjoyed this rip because of those check boards
Theyre awesome! I just wish there were more in a box
I’d love to see a video of your PC or just your favorite cards
I hit a Bryce young green ice and Kincaid checker board. Same box. Both on eBay. Nice
I agree that these are not great for $150, but they’re ok at $130, and great at $96 OTD at Target. The upside is much higher in these than any other format. $150 is too much though. $100 is a good price for this, at that price this is a very good box
I feel like this product is pretty good 👍
Btw Where’d you get this from?? I’ve been looking every where!
this came from walmart. target is where you can hope to find them on the shelves
What do you recommend besides this to rip? 😊
with what is available right now i would go blasters or megas!
Awesome video I have two questions what camera are using to get that far away shot and are you using a stream app to record thanks for advice
are you asking about the face cam?
@@AcmePacks yes
I bought a standard retail box from target and a megabox from Walmart and pretty much got garbage.. I think prism released those cards at a convenient time and stuffed the premium rookies into all the hobby boxes. So the retail ones won't get anything.
as far as base rookies go it seems to be pretty even across retail and hobby. Of course hobby is the only place to get numbered cards though
I got one of these for ten bucks at target. The barcode didn’t ring up and they guy said “this looks like it’s about ten bucks”
Purdy, Bryce, Jackson & Hurts :P what a QB box!
As always great content i almost one but the issue is alot of base... then again you did finish strong.
I got lucky at the end and didnt think these would be worth what they are. I have a feeling the price of these cards drops a little though as more gets ripped
@AcmePacks you know what I think I'll try my luck. Who knows might get that Stroud
Hurts and Jackson are good hits
i enjoy retail (whenever i can find it which is never)
That Jalen Hurts checkerboard for sale?
Checkerboards are cool
This seems like a pretty fun rip for $100 - $120 a box! With two kids to take care of, Panini has definitely priced me out of hobby. I think the latest hobby box was going for $1000 at my LCS 😵
Looks like a good box compared to most product panini puts out.
Well I certainly hope my box I ordered is comparable to yours.

Thanks for the vid 👍
I got really lucky that these are worth what they are!
Dude u did great, like pretty gooood
Love these!
Value packs great too! 😊
I need to try the value packs!
I hit a red white blue puka & silver gonzo
That’s a pretty good pull from those packs
Man, I didn't know these were $150 per box, at Target they are $4 per pack, so it's cheaper to buy all the packs individually. You got your price of the box back in 4 cards. How is it not worth it?
I got lucky. Cant base my reviews off of what comes out of my boxes good or bad

LOVE the retail review's!!! my friend! As always buddy!! 🤜🤟💯✌️✌️
Prizm is always fun, tough but exciting 😅
Why is he complaining he made more than his money back.
Its not complaining. Its giving my thoughts on the product and i cant base my reviews on what are in my boxes
Nice rip! Not worth the money in our opinion. You are right about the blaster. They are alot of fun to rip.
Think u might have made or close to your money back. Good box
I literally ordered one of these 10 minutes before I saw this lol
Some good UGA rookies!
Box paid for...plus money....not sure what else could be expected...
I had a much better box than i originally thought i did. But again i cant base my reviews off of what is in my boxes.
How about for a break night? "Hit or miss"🥳🥺
The value packs are the best deal.
That’s what I originally thought. I guess better than the blasters and megas. I’ll give it that much
I havnt had a chance at megas but blasters I did real good
I’m def done with Prizm this year. Blasters and megas are a joke. Value packs are meh. But the QC is non existent. Opened 12 value packs last night and at least 90% of the cards were defective with random dimples in the middle of the cards, scratched. Almost every card off center by quite a bit

imo prizm QC is horrid this year for centering. Most cards are heavy left, which sucks. More like the 21 set than 22
Ive at started to notice tht more and more. And its sad to say but 21 and 22 was sooo bad haha
Maybe I just got lucky, but I had a ton of 22 prizm pulls that were perfectly centered. @@AcmePacks
I think it's worth it, most likely make 50 percent of the cost

$100 a box would be a good price for this
Yeah pricey. You got a good box... some wont be as fortunate.
How can u want a blaster over that blasters are awful bro
More parallels in blasters 🤷♂️
Select is better
You definitely get closer to your money back then you will on a 1200 box
No. Retail is rarely worth it. The ROI is terrible.
Hey AP, definitely not worth the price. I wouldn't rip this or the blaster, I think it's better off being saved for something else
5 blasters would run you 250 bucks..
$30 retail at the time of filming this video. They were extremely easy to get from Target
Spend $150 on value packs imo
Bro I’m in Canada never get anything good on football and I hate hockey
Haven’t pulled a lot of pooka in awhile huh? 😅
How is ripping 24 packs not fun? Lol
it is but when 75% of the packs are base than I would rather rip a blaster because each pack has a parallel
Not worth it.
Pretty dull product tbh
Agreed
