It was the only extra A4 belt we had.
And coincidentally; The original Gracie Jiu Jitsu academy only had blue belts, dark blue for instructors and light blue for students, it wasn't till in the later 1920's that the Gracie Martial Art adopted the Judo ranking system of White to Black. That is why you see videos of GrandMaster Helio Gracie wearing a Blue Belt and Royce Gracie walking out to his latest MMA bout with a Blue Belt.

He was always doing real stuff, the brother exposed a lot of things about bjj and other self defense methods that will get you murdered on the streets, and to let you know I'm a practioner of judo and Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
Just to let you know, bjj is a sport and most schools don't focus on self defense in the streets.

in true Renzo fashion, always humble, polite and happy to teach another instructor no matter how poor the technical abilities of the so called instructor. Renzo taught this gentlemen well
