You have been clear from the start that Ken would be placed in an environment where he could be useful working. I watch this channel because I enjoy watching the loving relationship between Jim and Brenda as well as the loving relationship between them and their horses. Jim and Brenda have integrity.
Jim, It's sad, but there are people out there that will say things completely out of place for no reason. Anyone that watches your channel for any length of time should have all the faith in the world, that you will always do what's best for your situation, and the good of your horses. Best Regards.
I was sad when I learned he was gonna sell Ken. It made me shut a tear. With Jim, I know that you will put him in a good home situation. I can tell you a wonderful kind man and Brenda is such a sweet lady. You make a lovely pair. I like your dog too right now. His name loves me. I called his name yesterday when I was watching it with my sister EULA thank you for the videos 😊
We recently bought a Shire who's has done everything from logging to pulling sleighs on a ski hill. We dont have a ton of experience with pulling horses. This horse has made all of our dreams come true. He is just so reliable and good natured. He has taught us so much and kept us safe. Please send Ken to someone who has a dream to work with pulling horses so they can get experience too. It has brought so much joy in our lives.
Ken has looked out of place since Buck died. I think it’s great you are finding Ken a place where he can be used more. Someone will get a nice gelding, well trained and well mannered. Speedy recovery Jim.
Jim you and Brenda and your family are very good people. You channel is a joy to watch filled with knowledge, life experiences and honour and Integrity. I am disappointed in people that just say dumb things about your desire to find a good suitable home for your horses. It's obvious to anyone that watches you folks the care and good work you put into you farm and horses. Please don't be dis-heartened by foolish comments. Wishing you , Brenda and your family all the very best from your Canadian friends. Michael A Stickland
😄♥Skippy!😄❤ I pray for those who make negative or presumptuous comments and ignore those comments. TY for your explanations, but they weren't really necessary because, as you stated, those of us who have been watching and following your channel know you and know better! ♥🙏
This hurts me so so much to think people think that of you, very very upsetting, so l can imagine how you and Brenda must feel.Sending you my best wishes and l will see you on the next video 💞💐
It never crossed my mind that you could sell Ken for meat. Ken has been such a big part of this channel for so long I just feel so bad to see him go. Ken and Buck were just a great and powerful team. Your horses, your choices. Good luck with whatever you decide.
It is unbelievable that anyone would think that you would let Ken go to slaughter. If they watched your videos they were either not paying attention or they just wanted to say something mean. Thank Jacob for coming to help. All of you are in my prayers.
I got discharged by hospital today.. I dislocated my shoulder and cracked a bit of bone.. 7 weeks ago. I had to sell both my ponies 12 hand cobs... but they went to a riding school where they are meeting loads of kids. I know they are really happy because they are busy ponies who love going out with people.
Sorry to hear about your injury, but glad you get to go home today! Also sorry about your ponies but it's great that they are being a blessing to so many!
I like Jacob! The way he patted Baron and Skippy, you know he loved animals! Jim made me laugh out loud when he told Brenda that he didn’t know how the horses would be able to pull her weight too. But they were fine with pulling you and Skip! I agree with Brenda, the word is “forgiving.” ❤
I'm very sorry to hear that some people have left these comments. It is VERY clear to me and many more people that you and your family are very invested in the horses. It makes me very happy that you have taken this tough decision to sell ken for his benefit ❤❤❤
So sorry people are difficult, but we know you guys love your horses and will do what is best for them. We enjoy you guys being willing to share your lives with us. May The Lord bless you.
Jim, Your message concerning the possible sale of Ken and the Phillies was clear and concise. It never ceases to amaze me how so many people can interpret such a clear message to mean something entirely different.
Jim & Brenda, please know that the majority of us know you as caring people who wouldn't dream of letting any of your animals go anywhere other than a great home. Sometimes, people say more than their prays, honestly. Thank you, Jacob, for all your help for these wonderful people. We all need a helping hand at times, and I'm so glad they have such a great neighbour in you. 💞🤗🍀
What you were talking about was very serious, but in the background skippy was being so goofy. I am confident you will find the best person to buy Ken, June and Bree. Ken is a great horse and deserves the best. 😊
I live in Maxville Ontario I am only 45 minutes or an hour from you I would love to go visit I'm 65 years old and would love to do some driving God bless you both
We would never believe that you would put your horse in any position like that and will certainly make sure that they go to a good place. The people that would even say that certainly don’t know you or Brenda cause from what I’ve seen in your videos show how caring and loving you are to your horses and other four legged family. So glad you have friends to help you both in your time of need.we are praying for you and hoping for your speedy recovery .God bless you both.Randy and Madeline Greenham,Newfoundland,Canada
It's pretty frustrating when people automatically think that if you sell a horse it's going to meat. I've had people tell me the same thing. And he most definitely doesn't need to be rescued... Good luck and I hope you can get back to full health soon.
Well, I would never have thought you would ever do such a thing. I thought your intent was very clear. As to the fillies; they are prime time. Whatever their purpose, they will be a welcome addition to anyone.
My goodness, you explained Ken situation very well. He needs to work to keep the cellulitis back. I wonder if people are really listening to what’s being said. Love your channel and your family.
Glad y'all have some temporary help. I'm thoroughly convinced that y'all will do right by Ken, anyone who has been around horses will understand. Poor Miss Brenda, catching the harassment. 😂😂
You have integrity and will do what is right in all cases. Keep on doing what is right. Those of us who have been watching a long time, know the kind of people you are. Don't let the others who know nothing about your life, hurt your hearts with their unkind comments.
I was Thinking about The Situation with Ken He Would Be A Great Horse For One Of The Students At Paul Smith's To Have To Start Up Their Own Horse Logging Business Hopefully Something Like That Can Possibly Happen Still Praying For A Fast And Great Healing On Your Shoulder Blessings To Y'all And Please Be Safe ✌️
I dont know about that, Jacob guy he seemed like a real amateur horseman to me...j/k. I am glad i got to come up there and help. Lord knows Jim has helped me with my horsemanship. Maybe we will have to get together and do some horse pulling in the warmer months
We know you would do everything you can to ensure all your horses will be cared for as well as you take care of them. As you said you cannot guarantee what others would do, I hope and pray that everything works out for everyone for the best.
I have had an injection in my back for my back hernia and i feel so sick and weak since then, glad you always have longer videos. I think a lot of people just love Ken a lot and there are many rescue videos on youtube of work horses that end up in the slaughter pipeline to Mexico, that it is seen so much, it has become an underbelly feeling especially from horses from the amish and they might think you do the same, and a lot of older farmers are known to do that. I hope my English is not to bad, greetings from the Netherlands ❤ p.s have a four year old dutch horse, maybe we can trade ken for her, she is a bit too wild for my since my back hernia 😁
I recently find your channel. It wasn’t just clear by your care , you were also very clear of your intentions in your previous video. I suppose people heard a lot of things about actions from other channels and were just scared. But still.. Understand the situation feels even more awful for you and also fantastic that he will get a new life and things to do. I’m sure it will turn out good for you all.
Sorry to hear about what people r thinking or saying about Ken. We r happy to hear you got help with the horses Jacob looks like a good lad we loved it when u had William doesn’t matter who u hav3 as long as they’re there to help you and r good
You folks are incredibly good people and I can’t imagine anyone thinking that you would sell Ken for meat or whatever is beyond me. I have every confidence that you’ll look out for Ken’s best interest.
Some say I'm weird but I love the sounds the spreader makes when empty being pulled and when being unloaded. I also love the sound of horses feet on the road.
I am so sorry that you had to experience that. From the short time I have watched your channel, I have been impressed by the care and respect that you have for your horses. Take care, be well, and please don't let the idiot trolls affect your life.
That never crossed my mind at all Jim and Brenda. To me what you do with the horses 🐎 is your business and only your business 👌. I am so of Boston Ma and if I had a way up there I would be there to help out, but unfortunately I don't have transportation
Don't worry about comments much at all. Sounds like Ken needs to go to a place where he will get the movement he needs. I figure it would not matter if someone rode him or hitched him to whatever just as long as he gets a nice home. I do wonder what a horse thinks when they are moved off to some new place with new people
I've always wondered how a horse, or any animal really, feels when moved away from home. The story of "Black Beauty" comes to mind. That horse never forgot the love his first owner gave him!
Competent help is so important when needed. Have a good recovery Jim. Thank you to you both and best wishes for finding good suitable homes for the horses you are selling.
I read those comments, too, and couldn't believe the negativity. They must not have watched many of your videos. Praying for you guys often, especially during this time of extra work and recovery! 💜😊 So thankful you've had help from another horseman!
Just started watching your videos, and i can tell your good people. For anyone to think that someone like you would sell ken for meat, they really dont watch your videos all the way through. I'm sure you have done alot of thinking about it and probably not easy. I really like your videos
Many of us also watch horse rescue channels. We can't help but worry.I know that you will do what is best for the girls and Ken. Kenny is a perfect 1st work horse for a lucky person. I have felt for a long time that you had too many horses. It's time to make a change.
My grandfather always had horses that were born and raised on his farm. Every year he had a new colt that he would take to see and assist his mother with her work. After 2 years my grandfather had to decide whether to sell or keep. He never sold his best horses.
I know you two love all your animals. It will be sad telling Ken goodbye, but like you said, it’s the right thing to do for him. 😊❤Brenda, you should have pushed Jim off the hay sled!😅LOL❤
Oh my gosh, I would never think you and Brenda would ever consider doing that to Ken or any of your horses for that matter. I've watched your channel for quite a long time, and you have always taken excellent care of your horses. You encouraged my interest in drafts, and I have long wanted a draft horse for our 120 ac farm. I've owned riding horses all my life. As a retired mid-60s person, I'd rather ride in a wagon now. 💯❣️
I would have never thought that someone would think you would sell your horses for meat . I think a lot of people watch these kill barn and judge everybody on the same thing. But I am sure when you are selling your horses you have great intentions in mind that they go to a great home and be used for work. You have a great friend there Traveling the miles to help you . oh Jim you are too funny with your words to Brenda laugh out loud. . Gets better I'm praying for you here in the frozen Canada today at minus 34 here in Sherwood Park AB
Hi jim, you couldn't have been more clear in your video that what you wanted was one of your viewers who knew Ken to take him and continue working him for many many years to come. If you get ignorant viewers who are not paying attention and assuming something else, that's not on you, that's on them. Hopefully Ken will go to a good home.
I watch your channel because I love horses even though I don’t know much about them. I haven’t been watching your channel long but I never once thought the horses were being sold for meat. My thoughts are your farm, your business. You do you. Thank you for sharing your experience. I am learning a lot by watching your channel.
You have been clear from the start that Ken would be placed in an environment where he could be useful working. I watch this channel because I enjoy watching the loving relationship between Jim and Brenda as well as the loving relationship between them and their horses. Jim and Brenda have integrity.
Old horses are better kept working light rather than standing in a field getting stiff and bord

I know you guys love Ken and will find him a great and loving home ❤️ Everything will be fine ‼️
It's hard to believe after watching you with your animals that anyone would think that you wouldn't make sure that they would go to a good home
Nice fellow to drive all that way to help a friend. Farm and ranch folks are the best.
What a sweet friend to take a few days to help you guys out. Warms my heart to see people able and willing to do that. ❤
I can't imagine you doing anything but the best for your horses. The horses are wonderful and they listen well.

Hi Jim, you are so right. Why would anyone that watched your channel think that? Br
Keep him working light that will help his legs and he will be happy & healthy
