Remember Addie bringing The Wick Scottish down to play for annual staff dance at Stonehouse Hospital in 1966. Before dance started he took band round some of the wards and played to the patients then, following day he came back to hospital and played in each of the other wards. No charge whatsoever !

Waltz medley - By the Shores of Lock Maree, The Battle's O'er, Lonely By Myself.
Beautiful use of Hawaiian guitar in this "Sound Of The North" - well, why not - it works for me.

They were 7 in the top 10 chart.Jimmy Blair was 6th.Shand was 1( discussed,Shand was the trendsetter and Bobbie McLeod was to be number 1,but that didn't happen.3 was Jim Cameron,4 was Ian Powrie,5 was Alasdair Downie, and 8 for Willie Hannah, the melodian player,9 for George McAlpin, and finishing with Adam Rennie.
So...for other good bands there was no place anymore.(e'g Lindsay Ross,Jack Forsite,Hamish Menzies, and others, coming later on the fore)

The Wick Trio was a great band and Adie Harper was a real gentleman with a lovely sense of humour. I loved his playing and he did so much for Scottish music bringing the steel guitar into it for the first time.

Humour...he HAD.On one occasion they played on one of their many records the Hens March. And Addie smashing the bow on his fiddle.Tamtam tam tam tam tam, tadeleerum, tamtam etc.You remember?Addie had composed some good material and there was a fat link with Fergie McDonald.(e.g. the 6/8 Ness Bothan)

Is no CD. It's an LP. BTW...Do you happen to be related to Edinburgh Moray Rumney,a friend of mine? (EMI STAL 2005 or 2006 or even 7,have to look it up,but check it in a valid EMI catalogue) Not all of the LP's ve been set over on CD.
