Boyd's campground right outside of Key West. They have a few beach-front spots. It's a little on the expensive side, but you can't go wrong in the Keys. ;-)
I'm jealous, I saw that Rincon RV parking area on a UA-cam video late last year and it's on my bucket list. Unfortunately I live in Florida and it will be 9 years before I make it out to California in an RV. California is my favorite state, being there six times, four times on vacation, one of them in a Jeep all the way from New Jersey. I take California dreaming seriously. :-)
One of the things Marcia and I love the most is our retirement home is both a mountain home and a beach home. Marcia loves the beach, I love the mountains. Our RV is the vacation home made in heaven!
I was quite excited in your last episode, when you decided to skeedaddle out of the desert and over to the Rincon Parkway! You did such a fine job of depicting that stretch of boon docking delight in an earlier episode, I haven't stopped thinking about it ever since! I am pointing my van to that spot ASAP!
I live in Ventura County, and I camp there at Rincon Parkway. Beautiful!!! Wake up in the morning and have coffee sitting in front of the ocean view.....NICE!!!. Sunset view is priceless. I've seen the comment, it is not that bad people walking on the side. The best part is the view of the ocean. I always pass through the bike path everytime I bike from Ventura to Santa Barbara, Ca. Really nice scenic coast.
Yall channel is my favorite, its real! I dont no how to put otherwise, i enjoy watching there no bad words said there nice views and real world problems. Thank u!
I am just loving your van life. I couldn't do the cassette toilet (only because of its small size) but I really think this is how I want my travels with Ruby to be -- small and nimble.
Man, I can see by your jackets that it's definitely cooler than the desert. Looks so refreshing. I'm so glad you went back to the Rincon Parkway!!! And check it out... I noticed how you were able to make a u-turn around 1:20 something you couldn't have maneuvered in the old rig. Now, that squirrel was something unexpected, lol. Okay, okay... I think I saw a shooting meteor shooting at 5:27. Leo, now THAT'S a winter coat, hahaha! Love the ocean, thanks for sharing!
I'm from Michigan, and my every day winter coat is a hoodie just like Kait was wearing. If I'm going to be outside for a decent amount of time in the winter, I wear something warmer. Us Midwesterns have thick skin!
Thanks for clarifying the EcoTrek system a little. I checked Hymer's website and it looks like you have a 11,000 BTU AC, which is quite a bit smaller (understandably) than you'd find in larger RVs. 400 aH lithium battery bank, 320 watts solar panels & 3k watt inverter (probably a hybrid variety that can pull power from batteries and generator/shore power simultaneously?) seems well sized for a small Class B. Congrats for doing a great job down-sizing from the Class A.
Thanks for the inspiration, I bought my Class B last Saturday! I sold my T@B travel trailer today. Like you two, new Class B Adevntures await in the next couple of weeks.
Yes, sold it yesterday and pick up the Class B on Saturday. I want the freedom to be able to stop in a town, park anywhere, walk around, and sip coffee at a cafe. I always wanted a camper van, but a good used one is hard to find. It took me a year, and I am excited!
Ha ha! I love it - you were there just before the holiday weekend and we showed up on the Monday after! Missed you by 3 or 4 days. It is a little loud and a little pricey, but our Labrador loves the beach the view is amazing!
That is a familiar landmark for us when traveling up the 101 Hwy, but never realized that it was a PAY RV parking area. We just assumed it was first come first served area! Figures that the State just has to have another way of taxing us! Yes it is a beautiful spot and luckily your travels took you there during an off season. Did you ever venture into the water? Pretty cold this time of the year. Heck, its' cold most of the year there. Look forward to your Central Coast postings. We almost moved to Arroyo Grande but it was just too overcast for us. Love your dog! What is going on with his eye?
Good day! I'm actually looking at buying that same motorvan. I have seen most of your videos and I haven't seen a review of the Hymer Activ. All new vehicles have issues. What problems did you have, what needed to be fixed and how did you deal with these issues? A video on this topic would be great. Thanks and happy motoring.
Thanks for sharing your adventure and the interesting places your go! When you show us these great spots, like beside the ocean, it would be nice to know where it is. Can you post coordinates of your camping (boondocking) sites? A great advantage of watching other peoples videos is to know where to go.
okay.. I'm new to your channel and have only seen about a dozen of your videos starting with you wrapping up your Class A adventure.. As an outsider looking in it seems like the tension has grown since you have gotten a smaller vehicle.. Am I off the mark? ps... the financial videos have been a huge help.. thank you for sharing your adventure.
Following The Son , I think it would take a while to get the kinks out of the new arrangement. Don't forget they have actually been living in a house while they waited for the van. That's really going to take some time!
When I interviewed Derek May at Happier Camper, he said they're working on a deal with a French manufacturer for an AC powered off of 12 volts. I'm really curious about it, especially in terms of power consumption.
Camping right by the ocean seems the greatest way to relax. I`m sure Leo enjoyed that entire trip with the cool breeze off the water. I cannot wait til I start full-timing in Canada with my husband. You give us lots of useful tips and also things to think about before we haul out.
Camping by the sea is cool, but then how are you going to wash the van? It is also necessary to wash underneath. The marine environment is one of the most corrosive in the world. The maritime air will not leave the van without washing. If you wait to rinse the corrosion will start.
Cool location.. I assume you book online? Do you have a printer to print out your permit? If so wanna share what you use? Maybe a video of your computer set would be helpful for some folks?
Speaking of solar, lithium and ACs did I miss a walk through of the van and it's systems? I'd love to see what you're using for solar, lithium and the inverter.
Great video. Would you be so kind as to comment on how many miles you have on the vehicle and what kind of mechanical problems you have encountered so far? The ram promoter 1500's do not have good reviews on the web ( many mechanical /engine /electrical issues all over the place from searching google . Thanks !
Hi Guys - Could you explain your gym situation on the road? Also, when having a van and "disconnecting" to go into the gym or others places, in such a busy location, how is your space held so no one else grabs it? You said you can't leave a car, so I'm just curious if you would be able leave for awhile.
Those cars holding sites sounds like our state parks in PA near Pittsburgh when I was growing up. This was before reservations. These State parks are a pretty close so people would drive up Thursday night, get a spot paying for Thursday and the week end set up, and leave. Well they then added a you must continuously occupy your spot so then one person that could take Friday off would be elected to stay. Now you just reserve online. With the internet and all the info about everything online don't those cars know they are going to get towed and probably lose there fees? Also how do you pay? Is there a booth or a kiosk you go to?
I thonk it's fine to go to the gym for a shower. If you belong to the gym, you probably do more than shower there, but if you belong, its your locker room and shower, too. Whats cool about the Y as your bathhouse is that you can usually swim in the pool for a couple of hours before you shower. Or use the equipment in the gym.
@@Weretherussos They actually have one, now, to take the place of "Y-Away". But it is offered by participating Y's and honored at participating Y's. Most I've checked do honor it, but they don't all.
Are you making your way up to Sacramento area? Would love to meet you guys for a sec to see the Hymer. We just love following your adventures and hope to have ours next March.
Jo, I loved your initial hesitation and quick glance before taking your sandwich outside! We have never been to this spot but we hope to go before the end of summer.
considering a hymer or zion and was wondering about the batteries and solar running the a/c. we have a dog too and would have to keep her in the RV when sight seeing. I take it the volt start system works well too? How about the cassette toilette now that you've had more time with it. With only 4.6 gallon capacity I was wondering if you're having to dump it often. And are you finding it messy or totally gross when dumping? Thanks. Happy Trails!
i think hymer says the ac can run about 3 hours on that setup. my question is what happens after that? have you utilized the voltstart system yet? and if so, when the engine just turns on is it noisy? i don't like being hot. also, do you think the hymer is better insulated and/or quieter inside than the rv you had previously? sorry to bombard y'all with so many questions but the aktiv is looking like the only true contender to me based on what i think my needs will be. thanks for sharing your experiences!

Boyd's campground right outside of Key West. They have a few beach-front spots. It's a little on the expensive side, but you can't go wrong in the Keys. ;-)
Half Moon Bay. Especially late summer/fall, when it's foggy. You can hear the roar of the ocean, but you can't see it.
I'm jealous, I saw that Rincon RV parking area on a UA-cam video late last year and it's on my bucket list. We're the Russos thornhill Broom, Sliver stand state beach, Bolsa Chica State Beach
Frisco Beach National Seashore campground on Camp Hatteras, NC.
Got me feeling homesick. I grew up on those beaches. Currently living out of a truck camper in Central America, but I'll be back.
I like the way they do these videos. Best way to learn is watch someone do it.
Southern oregon coast lots of spots right by the beach, no crowds, no $$, dog friendly
One of the things Marcia and I love the most is our retirement home is both a mountain home and a beach home. Marcia loves the beach, I love the mountains. Our RV is the vacation home made in heaven!
I'm a local too. Or was one. Am now full timing on the road. But our favorite local place will always be the Rincon! Can't beat the sunsets.

FAB-u-lous Ocean views and so happy to see Leo all chilled out!
I miss Ventura, I was born there, love looking at the beach, thank you,
I'm binge-watching your videos to catch up to the present! I'm getting with the program!
Thanks for giving us feedback on the batteries. It was super helpful safe travels!

The fact that the Mrs., has no desire to trek to the snow, tells me she is a keeper.

I think the inverter is 2000 watts, same as my Roadtrek Zion Ecotrek system does.
Loving this!!! The best views!!! I can't stop replaying this!!!
thank you love ur videos and dog comments. look forward to gping to this beach! i too grew up with a beach summer events. just feels like home

People in Canada are indeed laughing at your winter coat! Great vid BTW! Hope you decide to make it up north at one point!
Lived in Ventura for 30 years....here's something to remember: May Gray, June Gloom and July No Sky :)
Mojo & Tokyo M., Definitely like your saying this year until Mid- July. Wish it wasn't as humid as it has been this year. ☹️
Beautiful the coast line we have been there... want to go back so bad..
smart move going to the beach.
Leo knows a good thing.
Yes we love Rincon Parkway we just avoid it on weekends and holidays too may jackwagons trying to reserve spots with cars! Safe Travels!

Congratulations guys I really love your videos !!!! Keep up to help us watch more !! haha !!! Have a nice trip !!!!
hello from London. We just came across your videos. Really enjoying it.Have a safe and happy trip
This one had me laughing at Kates winter jacket. Especially after meeting you all at the MOORE Expo.❄️🥶
😂 that jacket kept her warm
Very nice you guys , wonderful scenery and view of ocean.

Hi from from the UK. Love the vids, Keep them coming ***********
Great video thanks. Just about to buy our first Camper Van so all tech details greatly received. New to your channel but great viewing.

Following The Son , I think it would take a while to get the kinks out of the new arrangement. Don't forget they have actually been living in a house while they waited for the van. That's really going to take some time!
keep your voices down, guys, they might hear you. dumbass trolls.
I could see going out for 1-3 weeks at a time in something like this but full time? No way.@@legestrom
When I interviewed Derek May at Happier Camper, he said they're working on a deal with a French manufacturer for an AC powered off of 12 volts. I'm really curious about it, especially in terms of power consumption.

Awesome solar testimony!
Wen you get time look up "Turtle Dog Stands". They are a diy portable hammock stand.
Love your videos. Beautiful scenery, and lots of good inormation.
Pretty sweet spot! Our favorite "beach" camping spot is on Old Taylor Lake at Waupaca S'more Fun Campground😎😇
It looks like a great life! So jealous!
👍Good to know the AC can run off of the battery.
Can't tell who did the editing, but it was spot on. Really great video.
Camping by the sea is cool, but then how are you going to wash the van? It is also necessary to wash underneath. The marine environment is one of the most corrosive in the world. The maritime air will not leave the van without washing. If you wait to rinse the corrosion will start.

Wow, so cool to see you run A/C on solar.
I'm curious to know how your van is performing. Considering this or and Airstream tow-behind.
I love the way you guys eat. Simple and still yummy 😋
amazing parking spot. love it.
You should have a telescopic rod.. Strong enough to support your weight on the hammock..
I like your channel-one day I'm going to do what you guys are doing--keep up the good work....
i love all your videos I want a van like this.

What do you do for a living to make money and how much did the van cost??

Did you sell your Jeep yet? Great vlog. Glad things are working the way they are suppose to be working in the new van.
Awesome video thanks for sharing.

I love peanut butter banana sandwiches!
peanut butter butter and bananas..yum! love them :)

Glad to hear Hymer upgraded from the 2k to a 3k watt inverter on the 2.0 compared to the 1.0. Or was this your requested mod?
Enjoying your videos. Love to Leo.
When you camp out there away from town what are some of the supplies you would advise on stocking up the most?
new sub here looking forward to joining you on your adventures . can i just say what a lovely couple you are , lovely people xx
Welcome to the channel!

P.S. Leo is very cute.

5:27, shooting star!!
Yes, what is the gym that you go to? Can you use it in any state?

With traveling how often do you get to the gym? Is it really worth having a gym membership?
It depends on where we are...but yes it's invaluable to us since we use it to shower and stay fit.
