Like 13 I remember moms buying a ps1 for me & sis, all I could think was she ain’t gone want this more then the super nes we got two yrs before from pops. Those separated Christmas presents last gift I got from that dude then he showed me his true colors fake as fck
I love the HD it looks great. I reluctantly sold this game 20 years ago to help fund my Japan trip. I felt so down over the years when I thought how silly I was to let it go and haven’t seen a copy in a second hand shop since where I live in Australia. I just got an original complete copy in the post today and it’s in near brand new condition not even a scratch or blemish with the same brown middle section of the case that I remembered mine having and inserts in the same colour so I feel almost complete again. Now I need World tour. Just got Black and the strategy guide and 2012 I got new and kept it but can’t find a cheap ps3 that hasn’t not ylod issues 😅
oh the nostalgia. sleeping over at my cousins house on the weekend staying up all night playing PS1/2. Just listening to the Playstation intro gives me goosebumps. take me back to those days .
I played Twisted Metal for the first time at my homeboy's place when I was a sophomore in high school, it was awesome, I got all the old-school twisted metal games in my playstation collection, so hell, yeah!
I never got to play the Twisted Metal games back in the day on my PS1 but I was always amazed at the sound design. Whenever my neighbor would put it on it sounded like WW3 was happening lol.
Wow, I always figured Twisted Metal was full of crazy characters, but they’re just regular people. It seems like it was initially supposed to be cool and serious, with Sweet Tooth being a throwaway joke. He’s the most interesting part though, so I get why the knock-offs took that cartoony aspect and ran with it. It’s always interesting to look at a console’s early launch titles, because they’re always a demo of what the console can do. Or in this case, what 3D games are capable of. Something for everyone to be amazed by when they try out their new PlayStation on Christmas morning.
imo, the first arena level sweet tooth is the toughest opponent if you're fighting him with a smaller vehicle because you can't ram him to death and he fires limitless homing missiles...on another note, spectre is a great car because you can whittle down AI opponents with your ghost missiles without risking taking damage and he's either the fastest, or second fastest car in the game so he can get cheap af with keep away tactics.
on another note, the first TM game has a certain charm the others don't I can't exactly put my finger on it. I like that destroyed AI cars become part of the landscape permanently, I like the cars themselves, I like that health pickups cannot be aquired by the AI so you don't have to grab it to prevent someone else from getting it, I love Darkside's special noise and I love to ram opponents with larger cars.
I just played this Twisted Metal game yesterday on the PS5 with the PS Plus subscription and got the platinum for it all in one day. Super easy to play, and really one of the best classics I’ve ever seen in a lifetime. Really loved it! I’m still trying to wrap my head around how Twisted Metal has these hellish supernatural elements, like Calypso being an annual competition winner’s wish granter. Did he sell his soul to a powerful demon in exchange for the being the host and creator of the most grittiest and violent vehicular combat sport? It’s kind of an interesting question I’ve asking myself since then. And Calypso’s face being “burned beyond recognition” made me think that when I read Twisted History’s contest history.
I played it on PS5 as well. On normal difficulty the enemies have perfect aiming and hit me constantly. Knocking my health down in seconds. Am watching this guy’s gameplay and I’m shocked. The enemies are missing constantly! What gives?
I played this at a friends house i dont know why she got this game cuz I know I would never have picked it up for myself but it was probably one of the most fun I've had during that time
This is awful. I tried to play it on ps5 after all these years. The controls are absolutely terrible and the graphics are vomit inducing. I know as a kid this game seem amazing but after dealing with much better controls of today thsi game is unplayable and horrific.

I can’t believe at one point as kid I thought the graphics couldn’t get any better. 😂
Hahaha Same! I remember thinking that the only next step was actual real life graphics.
Syphon filter for me amd holy crap all the sounds in these games bring back so much nostalgia

I Remember I got this Game for Christmas when it first came out along with PlayStation. Man so Many Many Memories of this Game. How I miss it.
The playstation start up sound gats me every time
Bro when I heard it, immediately I was transferred back to being my 10 yr old self! 🥺
TM1 is my favorite of the series. Also love Yellow Jacket.
It’s absolutely criminal that a new Twisted Metal game hasn’t been made sine 2012
Warthog was ALWAYS my go to pick with the Patriot Missiles.
Man, I miss my PS1. Playing on emulator feels different.
Buy a PS3 and play it
Now available on Ps5
I'm getting fucking old....😢 The memories
This sequence deserves to be remastered
Just bought the original game a few days ago and it's pretty hard to get through the story with only 3 lives
Yeah the games hard.
this game was more difficult than TM2
I'm struggling to get through the story on easy 😂
Really the best TM game the only 1 with the Repo Man/ Robocop kind of humor the others
are just cartoony and dumb
Never realised how short this game was.

I was a junior in college. Spent so many nights playing head to head until dawn.
So good, love this game.
The presentation and the way the music changes to suit the action also the soldier guys you can run over
I never forgot how awesome the soundtrack was it was the cherry on top
Takes me back. Love it.
I’m watching the tv series now. Such a great show
Первая часть никогда не попадалась в игровых салонах. Пройду на yt с Вами :)
The ice cream truck that pinged the molotovs. What a vehicle that was!!! The best all rounder. The motorbike was good too but soft as shit.
Opening of Playstation scared the shit out of me then going into twisted metal epic lol

I had the 2ed one for ps1 damn I miss this game I have it for ps3 it's still cool as hell
The first two Twisted Metals are amazing. TM 3 was ok, but something was missing.
