Ellie's Grandpa takes good care of her. Time with Grandpa is always time well spent. Even if you are a dog.
I love your sacred approach to your cemetery work.
I had a lawn service for about 20 years. I had a cemetery account once. I thought I had one customer but in reality I had over 5000.
I feel... if you didn't bring me flowers when I was alive, don't bring me flowers when I'm dead.
❤ I love the way you and Ellie hangout together. She's Cooper's dog but she's everyones' dog I think. ❤
Having grown up in the monument business I’ve seen a lot of cemeteries. I have been so impressed by how the cemeteries that y’all service look. Every thing is nice and clean, and the graves are level and the monuments are all in line. If you saw some of the ones I’ve seen you would just shake your head in disbelief and disappointment at the way they look. I’ve reset stones for free when I was delivering one just because it needed it and I knew no one else would ever do it.
I’m a caretaker of an old 1700 - to date graveyard but now a closed unless u have family plot . My parents ,great grandparents and grandparents are buried there. It’s on the top of hill in the middle of a field with many fallen or unmarked and unattended graves. A few of us keep from being overgrown. When my father a farmer all his past we brought him across the field to the graveyard on a tractor and trailer as I remember him telling he had done this in the past for others . I felt it was the best send off he could get ❤ . Miss him 💔. The Cornstar family do a super job in the cemeteries 🤝
Your talk about funerals was spot on. I worked in the funeral industry for years, it what the family wants they should have it .
I know farmers pray for snow and rain for future crops, but this weather in December is amazing. I want it to stay like this all winter!
Ellie is like DCs kid!!
Your family is so respectful when doing your job. I did hand dig a grave for a neighbor several years ago. 3 of us did it and it was as very hard work.
If he hadn’t been a very close farmer and friend we wouldn’t have done it. His family closed the grave along with friends. Very rewarding service we all knew he was looking down at
us. We all sang hymns as we closed his life. Very Rewarding Experience. Thank you and your family for all the Respect You Have in this Sad Time Of Life.
Your little shadow, Ellie sure is getting big.
Nice of you and M.C. to dog sit while Cooper is busy.
Always impressed with the care and respect that you give the graves and the cemeteries.
That is a dad ringtone. My dad uses it too! I keep thinking there’s a nuclear attack…😂
You are one in a million Daddy Cornstar, you are timeless and have the biggest heart ever! You and Ellie are the cutest double act, she is lucky to have you in her life and vice versa. Never stop being you ❤ xx
DC - Make sure you get a CO (Carbon Monoxide) and LPG gas detector for any of the shops (and houses!) if you're running the LPG heaters - they cost anywhere from about $40 - $60 or so at Menards and just a huge lifesaver (literally!) and peace of mind for anyone working in the buildings and homes.
I love your channel, and Cole's of course. I used to dig for a cometary as well a long time ago and we saved ourselves a lot of extra work using a tarp and a concrete filled coffee can with an hook on top. The tarp contained the mess and the can packed the dirt so well we rarely got settle divets.
Hi Chris🌹🌹
How are you doing?
I am so glad the weather is holding off some! Thanks Summer
Nice to see your at a time when the jobs to be done aren’t as demanding and don’t require you to climb the failing bins like a spider monkey. I imagine it’s a good feeling having some product trucked out.
I never donate flowers.
I donate 1 tree for each year they were alive through the Arbor Day foundation and have them send a memorial card to the family.
That way the trees grow and replenish areas in need, it's basically IMO a gift that lasts generations
You need a tamping rod or tamping plate.i think that's what they are called.Long handle with a steel plate.Sold in most lumber yards like Lowes. In the garden tool or concrete paver section
Thank you for all the great care you take at the graveyard. Kudos job sir!
I have much respect for you and your family. Y’all’s unity is awesome. May it always continue.
Take care and God bless.
My Mom and Dad wanted a memorial bench with their kids names on it too. So my brother and sister who took care of the estate had that done. Im going to be planted near the bench too.
Cooper may think Ellie is his dog, but Ellie knows better.
My Aussies always wanted to herd shovels and rakes
😂
Worshin equipment, love the different accents 😁
Thanks for the video DC. You an mama cornstar have a great weekend.
Great video, Daddy Cornstar. Take care and stay safe and we’ll catch you on the next one. Thanks for sharing.
Should be a corn cob Santa! Lol
Congratulations on the new Grand baby 🎉🎉🎉🎉
I have a problem calling you by the name you are given being from the south. But what I have to tell you is Thank you. You have briefly very gently touched on burials being from that side of it. Coming from a mother thats son committed suicide at 19. 12 yrs ago. My mind & his Fathers being completely lost. I can remember we both knew cremation. Sitting in a weird room at the funeral home being thrown all this stuff and we had no clue. Didn’t care. All we cared about was our son. Why couldn’t we see him yet what are y’all doing with him, what do we have to do to be able to see him and YET, I Myself remember freaking out that they would charge $750 dollars to auger a hole in the cemetery. Telling them I would dig it myself being a farmer. And it would mean more to me to do that for him. His cremated funeral cost us over 12,000 $ in the end. 12 yrs ago. And we both honestly regret every single aspect of being in shock and having people push things on us that we had to decide while not being in the right frame of mind. If I could tell anyone, anything. You don’t have to decide asap. You just don’t. Don’t let anyone push you when you aren’t prepared.
Love the video Grandpa Cornstar :) ... Merry Christmas!
A funeral is the day for the living to remember the deceased. That was the line I took for my late wife's funeral, I did not side with the idea that the music should have been her music choices, sadly she was not there to hear any tunes. We had mutually planned things as she knew she did not have much time left, the cancer was too aggressive having spread to her brain.
If you put some hooks on the ends of the doors to hook those side to the opening frame. For the center of the doors, could either drill some holes into the cement for bars to side down into, but then you would have to clean the holes out now and then when they fill with dirt. Or depending on how much space is between the bottom of the doors and the cement under them, but a bit of a raised piece for latches to go into. Won't be holding by as much, but be a lot less and easier to clean out the dirt.
I get to hand out with my daughters dog too,, She's 2.5 years old, A smart energetic mut. Fun
Great job DC . You and Elle are a team . Happy Holidays . Take care . Deborah 🇨🇦
Love watching your channel stay safe and enjoy your time with your wife
Thank you for sharing your time with us
Daddy Corn Star,
You need a couple of new rakes.
Thanks DC, God bless your family!
Be glad your sleeping thru the night cuz eventually you will wake up every two hours just to pee lol
You are becoming a living legend.
Good video DC ,worked in the cemetery business for 44 years was wondering if you ever thought about putting a tarp down and then putting the dirt on it,no need to rake?
Kinda surprised you didn't have a sod cutter for the cemetery
Airplane hanger bifold doors.you can even build them your self with some research.
So love your respect for our lost loved ones❤❤
The relationship between you and little elle is heartwarming
Nice show today, D.C. ! 👍
Very nice to see how much care you have ❤❤
Hi Sandy🌹🌹
How are you doing?
Thanks again for the video, They are always entertaining.
I know it would make for a long video but I would love to see the full loading process of loading a truck if possible please.
dear dcs. you and i have more in common that may first appear. we both had strong fathers and strong sons. somehow, although we are proud of both, it kind of leaves us in the middle. my father was president of farm bureau, chairman of soil conservation. as such he held a high position, even having lunch with the president of the u.s. the next generation like cole, have found ways to be as successful, you know big wheels. i guess, for us, it is good son and good father. i feel blessed, and hope you do too. we have a contribution. thank you
3:52 I find myself curious about the Headstone with hieroglyphics
Another video of sound advice and compassion from Daddy Cornstar. Thank you!
Maybe Sable will come back once in awhile and help you with grave work.
Breakfast pizza....why not! ❤
I really do enjoy your videos DC, thanks for taking us along with you.
when you set up your air lines look into useing rapid air system. it is easy and fast to use.
We need a way to track our pets better, like a GPS or low jack that will point us in their direction. I've tried a few things but haven't found anything I like.
I've never attended a cemetery service/burial for ashes. Is that usually just for immediate family?
You spend a Million smackeroos on seed and fertilizer, and all you got was a $20.00 breakfast 😂 Shame on them 😊
DC Your The Best!!!!
Which co-op do you usually use. I'm in Warren County and there's a large co-op... just curious. I'm originally from Cedar Falls/Waterloo area, but have lived in Warren County since I started school, a hundred years ago. But, always aware of the farming community in our area. You know what season it is by the fields, driving back and forth to work. ❤😊
Hi Sharon🌹🌹
How are you doing?
👍 Thanks and GOD BLESS 😀
Great video DC. thank you
@dc is that a Busch latte can someone left on a grave at the 4.44 mark ?
It's ashamed to have to move some corn so early due to the uncertainty of the bins holding up, I certainly hope they make this right DC because the job that company did stinks!!
I thought Cole said that the buyers are paying pretty good at this time.
@marshalltille7770 yea they are but it usually gets really better after the first of the year, at least in our area it does, they are concerned about the foundation the bins are set on, the foundation on the wet bin already cracked really bad, if the foundation gives way with a loaded bin it can crumble like a beer can I've seen it happen
Could you mount one of them Jamb lock type on the bottom to hold them tight.
Thanks for the video!
Let it be a fox, please
Awesome always cool stuff always thanks 😎
