Happy birthday Ami. I’d have gone alone on my birthday. I think decompressing from our real life is a good thing. You were going to an all inclusive resort.
I’m 58 and have just started doing things on my own even though I’ve been on my own since my kids moved out. Starting out small restaurants, concerts…. My kids never remember my birthday. Of the three, I think I got maybe two gifts that I didn’t buy. I didn’t have a partner.

Justin I actually took a solo trip to Cancun for my 50th birthday in December. Everyone else had plans for the holidays and I decided that I wasn't going to squeeze my birthday into a holiday party like I normally do so I went to celebrate me. 😂 I was really nervous at first, but made sure I had everything planned and my friends and family checked in with me daily.
