I've got an 8. I interchanged 1 and 9. It sounds good for me but I'd like to know if that is correct. Of course, I had to add 'it' after "into" to make it sense.
Hello, Jennifer. I really like your series of phrasal verbs. Here are a few examples of how "hone in on" can be used in sentences: The detective was able to hone in on the suspect's location by tracing their phone signal. After weeks of research, the scientists were finally able to hone in on the cause of the mysterious illness. In order to succeed, you need to hone in on your strengths and work to improve your weaknesses. The coach told the team to hone in on their opponent's weaknesses and use them to their advantage.
Hi Jennifer, I suffered from burn out in 2020, in the beginning of the pandemic I felt that outloook was bleak. I had to step it out a notch and worked out. All of a sudden, we had meetings even 10 in the evening to bring up any topic so I had to talk my boss into scheduling meeting earlier. BTW before the time I prepared presentations honed in on improvements. One day, It was 11 in the evening but I didnt want to call a taxi company because I had sticked around yet : The next day, ( I remember wearing a pair of shoes that they were worn out :) I had to buy them, when I went the mall and the seller try to rip me off, I did not pay !! outrageous price!!! Thanks for the help ! Score: 8/10

Dear teacher, since I started to follow your channel, I notice that my English goes improving and that's something to be really appreciated. Keep it up!
How u doin' teacher,I'm a your big deal student 🤗Yehooooo...🤭🕺😂yesss!Alhamdulillah/thanks God almighty. And that's for I sincerely answered your quiz all correct.Hello from Malaysia.Esl,English As a My second language.Maybe I honed in on your lessons thoroughly.
Since it's not always possible to have paper and a pen on hand when learning a new language, it would be helpful if you provided a list of phrases that appeared in the video that we could screen capture and later review and practise. As always, I appreciate the quality of your videos.
Lots of phrasal verbs to talk about but you honed in on the good ones. At first I was not sure I could keep up with the long lesson but you really stepped up your game. I always look up to you for your fresh ideas. You never seem to burn out. Your top is lovely. My wardrobe is the same because new clothes are such a ripoff. I had better let you go so you can draw up your lesson plans.
Thank you very much for this clear explanation! I really enjoyed listening to this video! I’m going to be honest: instead of writing “ripped us off”, I wrote “ripped off”. All the other forms I used were correct though.
I always look up to her like a very good teacher,. make sure not to eat in that restaurant, they will be ripped paying much money by them. I use to wear out my brother's clothes because the life was hard.thanks our teacher, kind Regards...
Hi JForrest First of all thank you for the awesome video and explanation of the 10 useful phrasal verbs. Second I noticed that you said some people mistake saying "home in on sth" for "hone in on sth". I looked up both phrases in Oxford dictionary and DioDic English Dictionary for Advanced Learners, and both phrases are listed in them. So they are both in common use in the English language. In fact the phrase "home in on sth" is prominent in British English, whereas "hone in on sth" is popular in American and Canadian English.
The other day we were ripped off in the nearby restaurant. That's is terrible! I need to get my shoes repaired as they are worn out. People are burnt out because of the Covid 19 pandemic. I always look up to my mother because she is always there for me. We need to step it up a notch if we are going to address climate change. If we really want to expand our customer base, we should hone in on smaller markets. Thanks for bringing this up! My friend talked me into going for a long drive. I wish I could stick around a little bit longer as the weather is pleasant. Please check my grammar! Thanks!
It is necessary to add "IT" to step up?, i always see sentences like these "The firm must step up production" "I have felt stronger since I stepped up my training". Thank you in advance.
If you specify the noun "production" you don't add "it" because "it" REPLACES the noun. Ex/ We need to step up our production. (noun is specified). Ex/ Our production is lagging. We need to step IT up (it replaces the previously mentioned noun, production). Hope that helps!
Thank you for the very precious video tutorial🙏 I assum that I got 10/10, though I have a couple of questions about it. And if you have them answered, I would appreciate it a lot! 1) I answered q.1 "be talked into". Is that right? 2) I don't get the concept of the q.3; I mean, if there's good news, why should the deadline be met!, however everyone stepped it up?
1. You're are not going to talk me into doing something. Or you can say: I won't BE talked into .... 2. The good news is we met the deadline because everyone stepped up. You're awesome, guys.
