I got curious, opened Google Maps and found 1st Street and 1st Avenue, New York. There's a landmark called "The Nexus of the Universe" and a place called "Nexus Lounge" at that location 😅
Can we just comment that once Kramer drove through Manhattan when his face was plastered in a Marlboro ad over Times Square? The continuity errors are rather charming. Lol
What's the point of this comment when you know you replayed it and found out yourself what he said and you still thought to yourself I'm still gonna post this comment because dur!
A friend moved to my city. One day I was expecting him to come to my place, and he got lost walking over. He called me and told me he was lost. I asked him if he could see what street he was on. He said no. I asked him what he saw around him. He said, 'Buildings and cars.' Eventually I got some landmarks out of him and was able to walk over to where he was and guide him to my place. 'Buildings and cars.' Gee, thanks. That narrows it down.
I love in that moment Kramer genuinely believes he's made a Doctor Who-like discovery of the nexus of the universe because he's at 1st and 1st in New York City. 🤣
WILHELM: Oh no, you've got to go downtown, George. It's all downtown. Just like the song says. GEORGE: The song? WILHELM: There's your answer. Downtown.
Yeah. The "NO MATTER WHAT OCCURS, I WILL FIND YOU." is from Last of the Mohicans. I feel like the end where Kramer gets picked up is a movie reference too, but I'm not sure from what movie.
Anybody else notice that when Kramer entered Jerry’s apartment in the beginning he said ‘Well boys” and Elaine not George was sitting with him on the couch???
Is there a grain of truth in this? Like is this how people live in big cities? They just stay in their own sector/quarter/district like it's a smaller town and never go to the other sectors?
In NYC I could see it. It’s built so you really don’t have to go far for anything. In this case they live uptown, you might go to midtown pretty often but downtown is one of those places you go to only if you have to or for a specific purpose
Yes. Same thing happens in London. Once you settle North or South of the river, any suggestion of moving to the Other Side is unthinkable. Even going to the Other Side for dinner feels like a trial.
In The Cigar Store Indian episode, Elaine expresses a certain amount of shock when she's told she's got to get back to Manhattan from the Costanza home in Queens on the subway. I have never been to NYC, but it must be unique with essentially five different cities close together.
New York is wild. He's 6 miles away and that'd take over 30 minutes by car according to Google. 35 minutes by transit, so it's gotten a bit slower since the 90s.
@@MyKingdomForAK9 It was in the episode when they were sitting at the counter. Elaine tells Jerry that she got a 212 number from an old lady who died and Kramer mishears and thinks they said Newman died.
Stating the painfully obvious is a literary comic device going back hundreds of years. Even Shakespeare did it. It can be related to "Vacuous Truth." A friend of mine is is a comedy writer in Hollywood.
Probably. I wouldn't have minded an abbreviated 13-episode season 10. Maybe they could have tightened up the writing and ended more strongly. There are still plenty of great jokes but the episodes are on the weaker side.
Kramer screaming " Hey buddy, don't say no! " on the collect call. 🤣
How can the same street intersect with itself? I must be at the nexus of the universe!!

Atlanta,: Peachtree street intersects Peachtree street AND Peachtree boulevard And Peachtree Avenue! But that pales in considers to Miami.
I did find that line pretty darn funny. The way Kramer said it cracked me up. 🤣
