Terje Rypdal played the Bergen Nattjazz festival in 1998. Just for fun, he started the gig by playing Bergen's anthem Bergensiana, aka Nystemten, in the same style as jimi Hendrix played star sprangled banner at Woodstock. The was not an antiwar-protest, but rather a protest against a local Cultural person who refused that this song was played at another festival in the town. This song is also sung before every home-match by the local football-team, SK Brann.
