Try putting a small copper plate behind where you want to weld. It pulls the heat and helps prevent blow outs. I would do this when using a cheap flux core that was constantly blowing out. As soon as I used the copper plate say 1” x 4” my welding improved immediately.

I use an aluminum block. Does the same thing
