My message is quite late but when you transfer your 23andme data to Wegene for free (on the wegene website it‘s very easy) you can get much more information. Especially in chinese ethnicities because Wegene compares your data to their mostly asian data base while 23andme has mostly white customers.

@@MamitagAdventures Austronesian is originated in Mainland Southern East China and Austronesian people are the one who populated the Philippines that's reason why Filipinos exist today. According to U.S census Austronesian is refers to the languages family that's the reason why Austronesian speaking people look so different because language family is different from bloodline ancestry.
      Like for example
      Austronesian speaking melanesian
      Austronesian speaking micronesian
      Austronesian speaking Polynesian
      Austronesian speaking malagasy
And others who speaking related to Austronesian languages
When it comes Austronesian is race not a language family. People in the Philippines have the highest Austronesian ancestry among the the other Austronesian speaking people because the geography is closer to China and taiwan. Philippines play an important role because the country was both linguistically and genetically Austronesian, Philippines is home of different Austronesian languages and house of Austronesian people. AGAIN Austronesian is refers to a language family rather than bloodline ancestry that's reason Austronesian speaking people look so different because language family is different from bloodline ancestry although linguistic evedents shared some genetic but people in the Philippines is now a Austronesian homeland because Philippines is home of different Austronesian languages and house Austronesian people. Austronesian people are originated in Southern china and they belong to mongoloid race from what is now Filipino

Clara de Vera He doesn’t have a Spanish part of his family. You’re such an idiot, it’s 1 person from 100s of years ago, don’t you see he clearly wants to be set apart and be exotic by having European blood, even if it 2%, to even call himself Spanish? You can’t pull blood from 2% and call yourself shit! 2% is fucking nothing! Literally all the genes from his Spanish ancestors have died out. And yeah we’re attacking Filipinos because they claim to be Latinos ALL the fucking time! Most of them aren’t even any % Spanish, they are pure Asian. Colourism is clear in the Philippines as they are the #1 leading skin bleaching country. Racism is much alive and well in the Philippines too😂. Nobody does that shit, if they’re Spanish, then so is everybody else on the fuckin planet.

Saw Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 in my dna on my grandmas native Indian side that’s 3% . I did found out that my grandmother was taken away by her mother and put in a church and the nuns in Canada treated her very badly and later found her family but I’m very confused. Can I pass for Sri Lankan if my dna 🧬 is 3% or more ?. I want to buy 23 and me and I am confused about my dna . I’m not sure what’s the truth who I am . I am born in America Georgia. I was originally from Taiwan. These are my Wegene results: 97.92% of the Chinese nation
      69.09% Southern Han
      22.85% Northern Han
      2.79% Tibetan
      2.42% Miao-Yao language group
      0.74% Gaoshan ethnic group
      0.03% other
      1.86% South Asia
      0.19% Northeast Asia
      0.02% other
The Indian and Korean ancestry are interesting but there is no SE Asian detected as you can see. Wegene supposed trace genetic history much farther down than 23andme. I do trust 23andme.
My 23andme updated results are 96.8% Chinese-Taiwan, China(down from 99.2%), 1.1% Indonesia, Thai, Khmer&Myanma-Malaysia(up from 0.6% SE Asian), 1.8% Broadly Chinese & SE Asian, and 0.3% European(same). There is no know ancestry actually from SE Asia. My family on both sides emigrated to Taiwan from Fujeng Provine early 1600’s. But I realized the Southern Han people has been mixing with SE Asian ancestry for much longer time.

Assuming minimal cousin couplings, that means that one of his 32 to 64 ancestors 5-6 generations ago was a full blooded Spaniard. That is not to say he's a Spaniard, just that there was a Spaniard at some point in his lineage likely towards the end of the Spanish period in the Philippines. This is totally expected since Spanish colonization and immigration to the Philippines ended 125 years ago. That's about 6 generations.

I don't believe 23andME, Ancestry.com DNA, or MyHeritage DNA when it comes to Asian ancestry. They have the least reference panel of Asian ethnic groups in the world. I took a DNA test from
DNAConsultants.com back in 2007, and they said that I am predominately Filipino with Japanese, Chinese, and Cambodian ancestry. I also took a DNA test from National Geographic Helix DNA test, and it to said that I am 40% Southeast Asian&10% East Asian descent (I'm half Filipino half European American btw). Which makes sense b/c my mom said she had an ancestor who came from China to the Philippines back in the 1800's. Plus mytrueancestry.com also detected my Asian DNA matching with ancient people living in Japan, China, and Southeast Asia over 1,000-2,000 years ago. So I know for a fact I have Japanese, Chinese and Filipino ancestry because DNA companies like dnaconsultants.com get their reference populations directly from Asian countries showing it me on my DNA Fingerprint Report, and they even publish their data reference populations on their website.
Anyway, there is one DNA company that tests specifically for people of Asian descent, and that company is called GeneLife (based in Japan). So if you want to know if you have any other Asian ancestry other than Filipino, next time your in Asia, you should test with GeneLife. I plan to take their DNA test next time I go to Philippines. They have more reference populations from Asia (obviously since it's based in Japan), where as 23andME, Ancestry.com DNA, and MyHeritage DNA does not. Here are the links for GeneLife DNA test and a youtube video of Singaporeans discussing their results (these Chinese Singaporeans have more diverse Asian ancestry than they thought). Since Filipinos were trading with people from Japan, China, and Mainland SE Asia over 1,000 years ago (as depicted in the Boxer Codex), we Filipinos are also ethnically diverse (even Jose Rizal had Japanese and Chinese ancestry). So you should check GeneLife out sometime.

@Clara de Vera I think you are confused! Here in Latin America, we are a mix of races European Amerindian and Black. Some have more than others of each race. As people, we all love each other like cousins since most of us have Spanish roots and connect Linguistically historically, and genetically, Whether you are from Mexico or Argentina we are brothers and sisters. Now if we start speaking about European ancestry in Latin America because the Spanish concentrated in immigration to Mexico, Puerto Rico, Cuba, and South America they genetically mixed with the natives. Most Latin Americans have at least half of Spanish ancestry. I am proud the only way to be proud is to know your history. I still speak the native tongue of my grandfather and his grandfather all the way back for 100s of years. Also from my understanding, the Spanish never sailed directly from Spain to the Philippines. The Philippines was actually a Viceroyalty of New Spain which is now Mexico Just like New Spain which is now Mexico was a Viceroyalty of The Motherland Spain. Basically, The Philippines was governed by Mexico via Acapulco. Look it up on google. They had Trade routes from Acapulco Mexico to The Philippines. This is why the genetic distribution of European DNA Spanish ancestry is so low in the Philippines. And this is why only a small percentage of the Philippines speak Spanish and have Spanish surnames. The Philipinos who do have Spanish surnames and speak Spanish are probably located in the town where they had shipping ports or trade directly with Acapulco. Sorry, I forgot to mention to you I have a Masters's degree in Latin American History and Another In Iberian history post-conquest of the Americas and Iberian History pre-conquest of the Americas.

vietnamese means absolutely nothing. Chinese names the region "Southerners" which is vietnam in Chinese language. Vietnam is just a name that Chinese gives to that region when Chinese general arrived there about 2500 years ago.

The native American part of Filipinos often comes from Acapulco.
Many Acapulco people have Mindanao blood and many Mindanao people have Mexican- Acapulco (Spanish-Native American mix)
