    Excellent presentation, I was searching all around youtube to see how the live segment is working and you are the only one who did a really in dept review. Based on your review I ordered mine and waiting to arrive. I'm sorry I could not order it from your link to help you out (because of my country), but you earned a subscriber, I hope it compensates. :)

      Hey Desfit, to see live Strava tracking do you have to upload specific segments from computer to Garmin or just simply connect Garmin device to Strava?

    • @DesFit
      @DesFit  4 роки тому +1

      Connect Strava to Garmin Connect and then you’ll need to make sure you “star” or “favorite” the segments that you want to use in Strava. Also double check in your Garmin device settings that Live Segments are enabled (they usually are by default).

    Thank you for the video. I been thinking which one should I get the Garmin explore or the 130. After this video I am going to get the 130. I will finally be replacing my polar 450.

    • @DesFit
      @DesFit  5 років тому +1

      Actually the Explore is a phenomenal deal, but it’s big. Super good value for what you get. If size is a concern, you may want to consider the 130 or 520 Plus.

      @@smugala88 I'm also using an M450 since more than three years and no issues with the GPS at all. A really good device so far, but it's already outdated in terms of features. That Edge 130 would be a perfect upgrade for me if the battery life would be better. Currently with the M450 I have approx. 15hrs (with 3 connected sensors), so that would be a drawback for me with the130.

    Great review! I’ve been contemplating on getting a dedicated bike computer(something small in size). I currently use my Fenix 5+ and it’s been doing great but the bouncing around on the wrist during longer rides starts to bother me due to the weight of the device. Might have to check this one out, thanks!

      Ya, wearables aren’t exactly the best thing for cycling and especially mtn biking both for wearability as well as seeing your data while you’re actually riding. This is a great option as it’s rather inexpensive and also has the extended display feature which would work with your 5 Plus. Thanks!

    Simple question: on the smaller Edge 25, you can select the lap duration as either 1 mile or 5 miles (or km, I assume). How do you set it on the 130. Mine seems to default to something like 5 miles, but only displays the data every 15 miles! I am sure I hit something incorrectly during set up, but just cannot figure out how to reset it. Thanks- and thanks for a great video...

    I've been trying to find a good review of this device of someone who uses it outside of cellphone coverage. It has so many features, but do any of them work when your cellphone doesn't have a signal? For instance, the contact emergency poeople thing. Does this work when your phone doesn't have a signal? If not, then whats even the point of it. Seems way easier to just use my phone for that... kind of a solution looking for a problem if you ask me.
