    Hello, watched a few of your videos now. Very impressed with your work ethic, ideas and workmanship. Hats off to you and your employees. Wish you lived in Australia, cause I'm just about to put a pond in my backyard.

      Thanks Helena and good luck with your build! I’d love to do such work in Oz, but I’d prob spend most of my time looking for and videoing spiders, snakes and other cool creatures Australia has to offer instead of actually working!!

    The music sounds great Ed I enjoy listening. I believe I have found why I like your videos so much. Your artistry and ability to paint the picture with shovels and back breaking work right up to the point of gentle hand work with the fines and plants is an amazing thing to see, all the while teaching the viewer in great detail how and why you are doing it. You are not only a pond builder but an artist as well. One can listen to the music you've made and the earthen pictures you create to realize this. Keep up the awesome work my friend, I am grateful that you've chosen to share it with us

      What an awesome comment Tony- thank you so much, although i’m not sure I deserve such compliments! I hope you’re picking up your guitar now and again- having a strum on a guitar is instant therapy- so good for the soul!
      Cheers,
      Ed

    Wouldn't native plants have been better for a wildlife pond. But still 3 great episodes.

    • @CrystalClearAquatics
      @CrystalClearAquatics  10 місяців тому

      Hi Steve, this is a very good point- and yes, I guess if this was a strict out and out wildlife pond the use of natives would be a no brainier. However the addition of a few non natives (such as the Pickerels which I love!) amongst a collection of natives plants won’t take anything away from the local fauna but will make for a more interesting and appealing pond for the owners. There was room for a little bit of ‘artistic license’ to make the pond just a bit more of a feature in the garden!!
      Thanks for watching and commenting!

      The natives are just great right?! But using some extra pond plants that our wildlife also enjoy and are attracted to is not that bad.
      (Sometimes a lot of our natives are plain and subtle or just monsters that take over!
      Sometimes very hard to source only native plants too as many only available for a small part of the year to buy).

    Use a sanding disc on your angle grinder for the 4inch, it's better, and harder to cut into the pipe. Also If you don't chamfer the ends you can trap the rubber seal, which means it's harder to to take it off again if you need too(in my experience). Pond looks fantastic ,it's the small nuggets of knowledge that are amazing to me. Thank you for all your content.

    It turned out great! I can’t wait to see what it looks like in the future! I grew up in the country with a lot of venomous snakes so I am terrified of them, but surprisingly I enjoyed seeing the baby grass snakes here and a lot of that was your attitude towards them.

    • @CrystalClearAquatics
      @CrystalClearAquatics  10 місяців тому

      Thanks Gigi! For me the wildlife I encounter with my job is most of the appeal of what I do and I was so pleased to be able to get up close and personal with the adult and baby grass snakes this summer! Where were you brought up if venomous snakes were an issue?..

    Thanks again Ed for another wonderful and informative build. I have a huge lawn, not a pristine one, and you have given me ideas of creating a natural wildlife pond in part of it🙂. Hope you don’t disappear through the winter months, I’ll get withdrawal symptoms 😳😉🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

    • @CrystalClearAquatics
      @CrystalClearAquatics  10 місяців тому

      Thanks Maria and my apologies for the slow response to your comment. If you have space to designate a small area of your lawn to a pond then go for it!! Your local fauna will thank you for it I’m sure and its such a fun project to undertake.
      Hopefully I wont go into total youtube hibernation during the winter months, but I’m afraid I’ll be a lot less productive on the video front- you’ll just have to dip into the back catalogue and watch some of the oldies until next spring….😉
      Thanks for your continued support to the channel!

    Great job Ed as usual, and not long to wait between parts 2 and 3. I am sure it will soon be inhabited by many many wildlife creatures a full eco system and food chain. as well as learning all the creatures that have made a home in there, as a bird watcher l would be very interested in what species visit the pond to drink bathe and eat. Well done again
