- Do you want to hire an early career occupational therapist who will stay with you long term?
Finding an OT to hire can be difficult; finding the RIGHT OT who fits well with your team, produces high quality work, and who STAYS is next level difficult.
But it isn't about trying to find a unicorn. There are lots of things you can do to maximise the chances that hiring an early career OT will be a winning decision for you.
You need to:
Carefully map out the type of OT services you will provide and know why you want to provide them
Be patient with your recruitment processes to find out how much support the OT will really need to provide those services
Be prepared to invest time and money upfront to get them off to a good start - no shortcuts
Choose the right supervisors and training options so that your OTs feel confident and competent quickly
Give them the right opportunities for growth so they are excited by their career progression opportunities, not overwhelmed
That's a lot to get your head around, so we're helping you out with this free webinar recording that covers all these things and more.
We - Clare Batkin, Angie Contreras, and Nicole de la Perrelle - came together as a collaboration to work on the project "Saving OTs."
We want everyone to be able to know how to support early career OTs well so we can save them from stress, burnout and job-hopping. And ultimately, do a better job at supporting our clients as a result.
So now you can do your bit - watch the video, then get in touch with one of us to find out more about how we can help you to hire, support and retain early career OTs!
