Base align was actually much better because every single play looked the same. In College Football if you use the disguise coverage feature you are often leaving large openings in your Defense. For example, if I disguise my cover 2 in a cover 3 one safety will be too low in the box to cover anything.
Best bet would be to cover 4 shell with an actual cover 2 or 6. Safties will be close enough and not way out of alignment. Maybe for a cover 1 you show a blitz but don't actually blitz. You'd need to mix things up to confuse them.
Great video. It's really confusing to try to understand these defenses but you break it down. Start with the safeties and read from there; 1 or 2 safeties. I'm going to make a breakdown of what type of passes are effective for each defensive scheme.
Don’t really like, comment subscribe much but I will here. I appreciate it man. I took notes and slowed the speed and walked away feeling like I definitely learned some new stuff. Thanks for the great video. Earned a subscription.
Yes maybe no base align but they have show man 3 2 4 6 etc. so presnap won’t be as easy as you think. Post snap FS movement will be much more important.
Yeah surprised match didn’t get any time in this video. I love running it but it has its flaws like any defense (flats and bunch sets). Also surprised there wasn’t anything on Cov 1 robber vs Cov 2 man and reading CB leverage
Can you do a video showing the best plays to call versus a 1 high and 2 high man or zone defense? Also best plays to call when CBs are 7-10 yards off and when they're 5-7 yards off?
But what plays work best against each one of these defenses and which ones work best against the different CB depths and what about if they're right up on our Wrs and their's no gap in between them?
You’re right. However 90% of player won’t do this. If they do, they’re putting themselves in a bad position. Imagine if you ran a single high cover 2. The low safety would be useless to cover the sideline.
@@Swolosimo depends on who’s doing what… also where you are doing on the field. And I’m only playing with the 10% types that play online leagues. Not the 90% 10 year olds that don’t know what they are doing
brother this is great but do you have that flow chart with what plays/routes to run against certain coverages? thats the missing part for me. i get that corner route is good, but what other options do we have
yeah man. I was going to add it to this video but it would make it too long. I’ll be making lots of videos on how to beat every coverage in the game this year, so stay tuned.
@@Swolosimo what other routes should I have? See for zone I had slot onna zig, outside reciever onna curl just incase they play standard I can hit the zig but if they play aggressive I can hit the curl but thats just 2 outta four
But how is this going to work when your opponent picks different shells to hide their defense. For example. Picking a cover 4 shell while running a man, cover 3 or cover 2 defense?
You’re right kdubb! Your opponents can disguise their shells, but doing so makes their defense out of balance and leaves huge holds that we can take advantage of. However, 95%+ of the opponents you’ll face online do not do this so we can take advantage of this system.
🤣🤣🤣 Unless they actually know ball. All you gamers are in for a rude awakening if this game doesn't have glitches you can take advantage of (like Madden and MLB The Show). The real football heads are coming back for this game to school you all.
@@kdubb864 I've been waiting for a game that allows you to disguise your defense realistically. If that is possible, those of us who know ball won't have "huge holes" in our defense. This video is great, don't get me wrong. He's teaching a basic level of reading defenses and that's helpful for most people. I disagree that 95% of opponents won't be trying to disguise their shells and roll safeties though.
Match is based out of a cover 4 Defense. If you see cover 4 it could be either match or cover 4 drop. It is impossible to decipher this pre-play however there are many plays that beat match and cover 4 drop. For example, you could have 4 eligible receivers on one side of the field and it would turn match off, forcing it to be a cover 4 drop.
The Mac Miller in the background was so nostalgic i forgot i was learning lol. This was like being back in 2010...great vid, great advice brotha 👏
I’m happy you enjoyed it man!
They added shells, though, which makes it a lot easier to disguise coverages than it ever was in base align.

Indeed
@@Swolosimohow do you then adjust once it’s disguised? Like, how do you proceed if they are disguising?
I guess I’m saying. Is it even worth reading pre snap? Or just read man or zone and react.

Saban’s pattern match zone is a tricky one to deal with - which of course it is in real football too

Probably the easiest to follow and understand video that I've seen.
Thank you Michael! I’m happy you liked it.
Single high can also be a cover 2 invert post snap. The safety will drop towards his deep blue zone....
A regular single High cover 3 they peddle back
Great vid man what are some routs that expose a lot of the zone coverages and man defense?
Please check out some of my other videos as I go over a lot of this!
What are the cover and man beater plays?
can you do a how to beat certain defense's as well as playbooks in NCAA 25

UA-cam is weird honestly. I’ve only been madden for 4 days and I can read coverages almost instantly thanks to your video
Great video
How do I know which plays are man/zone beaters?
Apparently it’s always a corner route haha
I think he said zigs or posts also corner routes look very overpowered
@Swolossino ok, what do I do now?
Senior Skip day beat on this vid, MAC!
I like that you used a track from NCAA Football 06!
You can’t base align but you can disguise your defense. You can show c2 and be in c3 or c1 and be in c4 etc

@Swolosimo high risk high reward 😎 plus for match D this can be great assuming college game has all match plays
@@Swolosimodepens, messing up a cover 2 and 4 can be a bad decision. Mixing up cover 6 and cover 2 can be just as bad. Mixing up cover 3 and 6 etc.

@@Swolosimo Good players are going to eat up this assumption by playing complementary shells, just like real defenses do.
but on google it says ncaa removed base align so we can disguise our coverages, so wouldn’t that mean it’s harder ta read defenses
That was their goal. The problem though is that a base aligned defense will ALWAYS look the same, so it’s much harder to read.
Is there a defense that running the ball against is most effective? Also, do you have a chart that shows beaters for each coverage?
yah, good question. Trying to figure out what D to use against the run.

I beat somebody by 40 after this on cfb thanks😂😂😂
Let’s go Eli!
What about Cover 0, How does one find out?
Cover 0 can come from many looks.
Most cases cover 0, looks exactly like cover 1 but has extra blitzers. You can attack it the same way.
How do you know who to pass to
Lol I love when I see base align because 9 times out 10 it's a zone....people rarely base align and run man
100% true. Man isn’t good from a base alignment.
Wait you can’t base align in madden 25. I don’t know wtf beta EA gave me. Cause I could baseline.
In College Football 25 there is no base align lol.
Thks your the goat
Happy to help
Background song? Ive been trying to remember the name but i cant
Update: found it, (not just) knee deep. Now I can shower in peace
I actually forgot what it was sorry bro!
Are you going to have a e-book for college?
Yes VictoryFormation.GG will cover College and Madden!
Do the drags and post beat just man or both zone and man in cover 1?
They’ll beat both depending on the other routes you have on the field.

does the removal of base align in ncaa make any reads easier
Yes!
anyone know the exact plays to beat these defenses
Check out VictoryFormation.GG. I just dropped a full Gameplan over there that goes over how to beat everything in the Tight Doubles Offense.
How to beat a 4-2-5?
You missed a 2 high look you can spin to cover 3 so almost that simple.
Yeah this works if your opponent is a noob and doesn't disguise their looks.
What if he in zone and presses ?
Pre snap motion would show if it's zone or man regardless of a press.
i mean just a SWOLE vid!
CBs 💯 pct of the time will always 3 play Different shades. Inside. Outside. Even.
W mans
Why would they take that away? If it's not in there it's probably because the forgot
They explicitly wanted to remove it. It’s in the gridiron notes.
lol why even identify what kind of zone they are in if you just throw corner routes regardless 😂
50% code is not working my guy.
