This is great, I would periodically watch these to try and mimic the simplicity and effectiveness of their dribbles, never thought someone would make a real breakdown of it.
@@chasingmypotential If possible I think a video about managing distance or 'controlling the 1 on 1' would be great, it's something I would've wanted someone to break down for me back when I was starting that I don't see alot of people make in much depth. Great videos, been loving these 🙏
With Alaba, when you cover the space behind you in a committed stance like that, there’s no need to keep your hips facing the attacker/ ball. You’ve only allowed to go down the line so orient your hips in a way that allows you to keep up when the attacker does decide to sprint down the line
Great analysis! Holding the ground like that is really risky for the knock and run as the attacker always has the momentum advantage of your hips are facing him like you said
Since I have started too watch you my knowledge has gotten better by x100 from how to run with the ball. Before I used to just copy the way people ‘ran’ or just moved the ball without the knowledge and the fact that this is free I can’t imagine how well your payed products are. Good work. From a 16 year old left winger aspiring professional ❤

Glad you enjoyed it! Not everyone can afford paid products, I can assure you that the return on investment will be transformational for your game, but the free stuff allows everyone to get some ball knowledge 🙌🏼
This is pure gold, thanks for adding the arrows, it makes you think in distance + time, where to put the ball so the defender legs+movement can't reach it.
the modric examples are brilliant because in 1st case he feigns going to the right so defender has to turn his hips to follow yet he drops the shoulder a couple of times and roots him to the spot.. while 2nd time its roughly the same without the fakes and straight up turning to the right, defender reacts the same way and modric is cut off, we see 2 versions of the same run up basically which is great. tchouameni vs scamavinga is funny, camavinga is so bad man.. fascinates me how madrid fans love him. that 2nd one his hips are so twisted come on.. the art of defense is to react only when necessary thats what i've been taught although its always very tempting ot take the bait. maintain your distance for as long as possible until they move the ball in front of their body and not under it, thats your only opportunity to take advantage of because if its in front of their body then they have to run to it. if its under their body(inbetween their feet) then it can be moved in any direction and if you reach best you can hope in most cases is comitting a foul. when is a defender in an unfavourable position? modric wouldnt need 3-4 moves to get past me, definitely not.. he'll blow past me like im a traffic cone with 1 move but against seasoned defenders he needs more preparation. recently came across a vid of ronaldinho from 2007 where he trains with kids and told them he copied moves from others but adapted them to his own style because exact copies slowed him down.. and the point of dribbling is simple you need to get past your man, sometimes with 1 move, sometimes you need more.. so clearly top level pros know and can spot the timing, thats the real skill the rest is trickery. i think the simplest way to put it is like this - you have to get behind your marker's back.. you either use bait to move them forcefully or merely change the angle and accelerate if they are a shit defender. if its bait you're using then you need to get the ball behind the leg thats been reached out to take the ball from you so if their reach their right leg then you need to move to your left and vice versa. the easiest trap to fall in is if you think you need to move the ball there, no, you need to move your BODY there.. and take the ball with you, thats the catch.. you cant do that in 1 step, you need 2 or 3 and in that time ball needs to be out of defender's reach
We need more videos like this bro! Keep up the good work .Like this is so useful for people like me no coach ,self learner but i have passion and this help alot
You need to mention more about what the defender does. What the attacker is doing is making a move to see how the defender reacts and then simply doing the opposite in a quick-enough way that the defender stands no chance to get the ball. The attacker needs to remain in control the whole time, by making the defender do what they want (ie put them off balance).
Yo thank you bro, you are a legend. I really love seeing your videos. I found about you like 3 days and I already watched like 10 videos. 1 recommendation I have for you is to show some drills for dribbling or shooting that is really affective. First show a clip of a winger/st/cm doing that dribble or shot then tell us a drill that we can do to replicate that. Hope you found my recommendation useful thanks!
@@Palmermogger Amazing to hear ! I wish I had stuff like this when I was playing, if you apply all the lessons you learnt from this vid alone you should see a huge difference 🙌🏼
Have watches your channel since the very first videos. Very appriciate the knowledge you brought. Just a simple request, could you make more video about pressing as attackers or midfielders (cuz pressing is what both teams does most of the time in a match)? Thank you very much.
It would be good if you did an analysis of how the wingers play without the ball in different formations, such as: 433, 442, 343, etc., mentioning things like what types of runs they make towards the spaces to get away, how to position themselves in a certain way to receive the ball in different situations among others. Postscript: thank you for what you do, this helps many of us who want to learn every day about the sport we love, and I think this addition that I mentioned in the comment would be very useful to us(If there is any spelling error in the comment, it is because I am using a translator.)
im horrible in 1v1 training, however im great in game, i find that sometimes a defender doesnt have as much space to navigate in 1v1 situations, so i try and find a space to shoot between 2 or 3 defenders, and it usually results in a shot on target.
Very helpful, Looking forward to more videos with 1v1 analysis. I have a question: In Modric's last 1v1, how exactly does his final instep touch make all the difference? Also, what would be the perfect distance to maintain between yourself and the defender?
As it is a cue for the defender he’s going that way, he will slightly push off or begin to and he does another body feint back against his momentum. It helps his really throw the defender off
I’m so bad at 1v1s but I can dribble multiple players and play a pass in the midfield I use other players as bait for passes and simple turns and change of pace do I need to train my 1v1s still?
Love it, the fake pass is an easy way to beat people in the midfield, and yes the better you get at 1v1’s the easier you game will be and the more impact you’ll have when the games tight
I love your content but i do have some things to ask, especially regarding the game analysis videos not this video. How do i get to actually think of these stuff in game 😅? You seem to know everything your saying but like these players definetly don't think of any of that, its all their instincts. And when i play i also rely on my instincts, like i of course analyse players positions and stuff, so i do use some like thinking, like actively thinking of stuff, but for example i don't think of a skill i wanna do lol, i just randomly do it lol. By the way I'm a really good dribbler but i struggle under pressure in central areas a bit (I'm a winger), I'm best at dribbling when i receive the ball and run towards someone, i can take on 1, 2 or 3 players at a time if i need too but under pressure with 1 player i usually end up passing back, and when i think of the situation again i realise it wasn't like that difficult for me to be forced to pass back like i did lol, like i could've carried the ball forward and made a dangerous attack so what can i do to improve that? Finally, genuinely I'm curious how players who are top dribblers like messi that never had access to such detailed courses like yours get an idea of how like to anticipate situations so quickly in game? Like is it just their natural talent, because like i mean, at the end of the day no matter how much videos and practice someone can do, it doesn't guarantee they even become professional football players nevertheless get to the level of players you do analysis on 😭?
You’re right you won’t be thinking this specifically in game, but instinct is still stored knowledge that is accessed in the flow state. You can’t get good instinct without knowing this stuff ( although some get it naturally) it’s a process of learning this stuff and trying to spot in in training in real time, or looking back on your training clips and games ect. It’s a process
@@chasingmypotential alright thanks, btw just seen your decision making and game iq course it is literally one of the best things I've seen, like not even exaggerating, I've never seen someone actually teach in detail how to scan and what to look for in scanning.
