    Great to see your vertical rows. I made my first t-shirt quilt last weekend and did vertical rows as each picture were different sizes so the same width for each column was easy and no seam matching. It felt like it went together quicker. I used my son's concert t-shirts and we are so happy with the finish.
    As always such pretty kits and patterns♥️🇦🇺

    Thanks for the cutting hints on the Lickity Split pattern. I've avoided that pattern because of the fear of cutting the long units wonky.

    This is inspirational. I'm ready to try the vertical row assembly. I was not comfortable with them and have been avoiding them concentrating on others with straight seams. Sigh, I hope soon I'll be inspired to tackle half square triangles too. I have all 10 books so plenty to choose from. Thank you for for turning the light on in the room for all of us still wondering around in the dark☺😉

    Love your videos & tutorials, always helpful & well done. But Please, please, please, consider calling vertical rows COLUMNS which is more clear & much less confusing. Like Excel or Word's Table Format, Rows are always Horizonal & Columns are always Vertical, by definition.

    Hi from South Africa. Thanks for these delightful video's. Do you send your books internationally?
    Just a quick question from a new quilter...Why was the middle block on the perfect match not just cut wider to avoid the extra seam?

    Do you recommend washing fabric prior to using?

    • @FabricCafe
      @FabricCafe  2 роки тому +2

      Pre washing is such a personal preference. I prewashed for years, but no longer do so. I like to have the sizing in the fabric. I also like the way a quilt looks when I launder it after it's all finished. A couple of cautions: Use good quality fabrics and never leave a wet quilt lying bunched up in the washer.

  • @NanaKathy47

    I was watching your first example and thought those vertical rows would be a perfect time to do Quilt-as-you-go if you're like me and need to use a domestic sewing machine. You would have very little under the machine at any one time.

    • @FabricCafe

      Hi Bonnie! So glad you have enjoyed Hannah's videos! The fabric from her first quilt were Michael Miller fabrics, you may still be able to find them in stock at a fabric shop. Morning Meadow, Garden Cat and Stripe were some of the names from that line.

      Hi Lisa! The individual pattern is only a lap size, however the book that it comes from has instructions to make it into a twin or queen/king size - www.fabriccafe.com/Easy-Peasy-3-Yard-Quilts-book-p/031740.htm

    I guess 9 books x8patterns each is 72 quilts x 3 yards each=216 yards(front only) and each of those 216 is it’s own “block” .- that’s is a lot of potential!

    Can you make baby quilts with this book?

    • @FabricCafe
      @FabricCafe  Рік тому

      Hi Pam! Though we do not give direct instruction on how to make the pattern smaller, we actually have had several requests for smaller baby sized quilts. We are planning a video for January where we will be looking at making baby sized quilts out of the patterns in our books. But with some creativity and adjustments many of our patterns could be made smaller by leaving off the number of blocks/rows in the quilt. It would adjust other measurements, but it can be done.

    • @FabricCafe
      @FabricCafe  2 роки тому

      You can find lots of information on the web on how to prevent colors from "bleeding". Also, never leave a damp or wet quilt in your washer. Set a timer and remove it at once.

    Rows are by definition horizontal. Columns are vertical.
