Hi Helen I was waiting for an email which I think was wrong something you mentioned so I went into it my DPD and my Health summary came up so I could complete it all. So thanks so much I could not have done this my self.
Hi Helen, top video! Why can i not input the health information or vaccine info in the dpd?? I am in a hurry before departure and do not want to submit it with incomplete health info
Hi @Fatima Elfeil - apologies for the late reply, my mother suffered a severe brain bleed hence the delay. I hope you were able to get it all sorted and that you now in Australia. Take care and all the best. 🙏🙂

Thank You for your video, just one question, what if you cant upload your vaccination cert? Do u just click no and fill it out manually and show your printed cert to the check in counter? thank you
Hi @Dion Thulborn - apologies for the late reply, my mother suffered a severe brain bleed hence the delay. I hope you were able to get your query answered and travel to Australia safely. And it's probably too late now - but the answer would be YES just enter your vaccination details manually and take your hard copy to present on request. Take care and all the best. 🙏🙂
Hi Helen, I'm traveling from Istanbul to Dubai and then from Dubai to Australia , I've completed my dpd and entered both flights but when I print out the dpd it only has 1 flight listed on the main page ( Istanbul to Dubai ) is this normal ? When i go into the flight details it has both the flights listed just not on the main printed DPD page. any help would be appreciated
Hi @Aras Cevik - YES that's normal! 👍🙂 Here's what the DPD FAQ's say: What flight details are required if I have multiple flights (stops) before arriving in Australia? If you have multiple flights (stops) before arriving in Australia, enter your first flight, and the one that lands in Australia. *The DPD Summary screen only displays one flight. What if you do not wish to share your health records or quarantine requirements and leave both blank? Both of which should not be on the passenger declaration!!
Hello Helen, after I submitted and got emailed that I completed, when I view the document it only show my first departure flight w/c is mnl-sg, but I also put the othe rflight w/c is SG-SYD however it does not show on the document. I didnt put the flight for my final destination w/c is new zealand.

Hi Helen, I am an Australian Permanent resident living abroad. I haven't been back since COVID began. I want to come back on holiday for 2 weeks. I am a dual national. My Australian residency is on one passport (with the other one declared), and my vaccination certificate is based on the second passport where my name appears slightly differently. Do you have any suggestions on how to approach this. If I enter Australia on my residency passport I could enter as unvaccinated and leave again? Without quarantine?

Hello Helen from GER, great video and perfect explanation! Thanks a lot !!! Just one Q: If I make a holiday in Australia in a rented car/camper and have no "intended address" but travel every day from one place to the next, not knowing which stop will be the next, what address should one enter? Maybe the address of the rental company?? Thanks again and have a wonderful day.

Hi @Tipratpom30 - Here's what the Australian Govt says: *Overview* All passengers arriving by air into Australia should complete the DPD. You can start a DPD seven days before your flight, but you must submit it before you depart for Australia. Passengers who do not complete a DPD before departing may face unnecessary delays on arrival in Australia. When filling out the DPD, you will need to: provide your contact details, including a contact phone number in Australia make a legally binding declaration in relation to your vaccination status make a declaration about your travel history in the last 14 days make a declaration that you are aware of the quarantine and testing requirements that apply when coming to Australia and in the state or territory you are landing and the penalties for non-compliance. Note: Before you complete your DPD, check all other travel requirements for Australia. For a list of all documents you need before you travel see the information for Vaccinated travellers and Unvaccinated travellers. *Penalties and enforcement* The DPD requests critical health information. You must be able to provide evidence that the critical information was completed before boarding the aircraft. This is an enforceable requirement. A person who fails to comply with the requirement may be liable to a civil penalty (fine) of 30 penalty units (currently $6,660 AUD). This is set out in section 46 of the Biosecurity Act 2015. Giving false or misleading information to the Australian Government is a serious offence. If convicted, the maximum penalty is imprisonment for 12 months. States and territories may also apply penalties in order to enforce compliance with public health orders. This may include COVID-19 testing and self-isolation or quarantine requirements. If you do not comply, including any requirements after you enter, you may face serious penalties, including jail time or significant fines. Requirements may change at short notice. For more information see State and territory arrival requirements. Visa holders who arrive in Australia may have their visa cancelled and be detained and removed if they: are not fully vaccinated for international travel purposes in accordance with Australia's border entry requirements; or do not have a medical contraindication to a COVID-19 vaccine as defined by the Australian Government; or are not in an exempt category or hold an individual travel exemption. www.homeaffairs.gov.au/covid19/digital-passenger-declaration Here's what the DPD FAQ's say regarding the Incoming Passenger Card: *Do I still need to complete an incoming passenger card?* Yes, you still need to complete an incoming passenger card (IPC). This is in addition to the DPD. We are working to include the IPC information within the DPD in the future. immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/help-text/dpd/Pages/faq-english.aspx If you need to reach out to Global Service Centre - their contact details are: Phone: +61 2 6196 0196 (outside Australia) for advice as needed. As per the FAQ's and the information you've provided (a) If this is a direct flight to Melbourne - you should be able to commence your DPD application on 14 May 2022 at 8.30 pm - this being 7 days from your departure flight to Melbourne. *What flight details are required if I have multiple flights (stops) before arriving in Australia?* If you have multiple flights (stops) before arriving in Australia, please enter your first flight, and the one that lands in Australia. Hi Helen, to the question at 4:45 'have you been to any other country 14 days before entering Australia' - in which circumstance will your answer ever be NO? If you are entering Australia, you are coming from another country no?
@Judie Janse van Rensburg - I must admit your comment had me giggling lol 1. Maybe it's just me - but after doing 3 versions of the DPD and answering queries from all 3 (a) In the older app version it said to include all the countries you had been to 14 days prior to your travel including the ones you had transited (b) in the one before that it said to include any countries you had travelled to '14 days before your flight to Australia' - this didn't include any transit countries (c) so for the latest version - this version - I just interpreted it to 'include' your home country that you had flown from - however I could be totally wrong and maybe it does just mean any transiting countries and if you're not transiting any countries - maybe that's where the 'no' might come in? To be honest I really don't know? Well - thanks for giving me a laugh - I don't know if I just confused you even more - but you go ahead and put in what you understand that question to mean. You can't be wrong in interpreting the question in the way that you did. Again, all the best @Judie Janse van Rensburg - hope it all goes well, you take care and safe travels and don't forget to reach out to the Global Service Centre - they'll be the ones to give you expert advice. 🙏😊

Hi @ELEENUS - here's some DPD FAQ's that you might find helpful: *ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT* *DPD account* To complete and submit a DPD, travellers will need to create a DPD account. Travellers can complete a DPD for more than one traveller using the same DPD account. For example, a family with two or more persons, or a person travelling with dependents can use the same DPD account, but each traveller will need their own DPD to be submitted for that travel event. Anyone who is 16 years old or over can create their own DPD account and declaration. *Can I access my DPD account from the online form and the mobile app?* Yes. You can use the same log in details for both the online web form and mobile application versions. You can access the same information using either the online form or the mobile app. *I’ve forgotten my username or password, what do I do?* If you cannot remember your username or password, you can select the Forgot password? link and follow the steps below: - On the Login Details screen, select the Forgot password? link. - Enter the email address you registered the account with. You will receive a one-time passcode from Microsoft. - Enter the passcode within the following 4 minutes. - Set the new password. You will be logged in once the password is reset. Note: If you do not receive a one-time passcode, please check your email address is entered correctly and check your spam/junk mail folder *What if the DPD won't accept a new password?* The DPD requires a complex password that meets the following criteria: - 10 characters or longer - contains at least 3 from the following sets: - capital letters - lowercase letters - special characters - numbers - does not contain sequences of 3 or more (i.e.123, abc) or 3 or more repeated characters (i.e. 111, aaa). *Can I update my account details?* Yes. Once logged in, select the menu at the top right of the screen, then select *My Account* Before updating the information, the system will require authentication through a one-time passcode sent to the mobile or email address provided. The following details can be updated: - password - mobile phone - landline phone - e-mail address - preferred contact method - preferred two-factor security authentication method *Why can’t I log into my DPD account?* If you are unable to log into your DPD, you should reset your password. To reset your password, follow the above steps at ‘I’ve forgotten my username or password, what do I do?’ immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/help-text/dpd/Pages/faq-english.aspx If you need to reach out to Global Service Centre - their contact details are: Phone: +61 2 6196 0196 (outside Australia) for advice as needed. @ELEENUS hope that helps you out! Hi Helen, first of all thank you for such a detailed great video - super helpful! I have a question - I plan to be in Melbourne for 3 weeks visiting friends and family. On the question - do you intend to live in Australia for the next 12 months, would this be a yes or no for me? I saw options in your video to choose ‘Visitor’, but I wasn’t sure about the wording of the question as technically I’m not visiting to live it’s just for a holiday? Thanks, Farah.
Hi @Farah Surjadi - you're most welcome! 1. Great point there! @Farah Surjadi (a).I 'think' I chose 'YES' for this question - because in the past with the original ATD it wouldn't accept a 'NO' (b). However, I've selected 'NO' for this question - and the questions remain the same ie (i) your intended length of stay; (ii) your country of residence; (iii) your main reason for travel; and (iv) your occupation. 2. Yes @Farah Suijadi - go ahead and put 'NO' - as you correctly stated, technically you're not living in Melbourne for 3 weeks, you're visiting. Thanks for bringing that to my attention. Hope that helps - all the best, safe travels, take care and happy reuniting with family and friends! 🙏😊
Hi thanks so much for the DPD demo. I am worried as 72 hours have passed and I haven’t received an email to do the health part. I leave 8th June Wednesday at 6.10am it’s 5th June now 7.10 pm. I think it’s after the 72 hours not sure what to do it’s Queens Birthday tomorrow. Help please. Rachel
Hi @Rachel Kincaid - that doesn't sound good 1. Have you 'submitted' each section? (a) Did it show up that you had 'completed' each of the sub sections under (i) Trip details; (ii) Quarantine details; (iii) Health Information 2. In my one - I noticed that there were no time barriers. Meaning - after I had completed the (i) Trip details; the (ii) Quarantine details section had commenced - meaning I could begin that section; and then (iii) Health section had commenced - meaning I could begin that section as well. (a) Double check that you can't just begin filling in those sections - let me know how you get on. IF you still haven't been able to have it sorted by tomorrow - try and get in touch with the Global Service Centre ASAP (Tuesday if they're not open tomorrow) and get them to help you out - even if that means staying up late or getting up earlier local time to contact them, I believe they open at 9.30am NSW time. All the best Rachel, I hope you're able to get all sorted. Take care. 🙏😊

Hi @Jan Hepworth - hope you're well! 😊 1. If you use the DPD App - it does reflect the updated changes. I've just looked at it and it has been updated. 👍 (a). What you see on the online version is what you'll see on the app version - I personally think the online version is easier as a lot of people find scanning the RFID chip stressful and too fiddly - whereas the online version you just take a picture of the passport page and enter a handful of details. (b) So - for anyone, if you're finding the app version stressful - just do the online version. 2. I haven't posted up a DPD App version as yet - due to work commitments, but I will need to due to the requests. Hope that helps @Jan Hepworth - all the best, take care and it'll be out *hopefully by the end of the week! 😊🙏
Hi Helen, Thank you for the detailed video. It is very helpful. I have a question I am an Australian citizen returning to Sydney, but I have not been vaccinated yet. So I am confused what to select when it comes to Quarantine details section of DPD. There are three options but in my case, I am not sure what I should select. I am aware that from 30 April, unvaccinated international arrivals will note be required to undertake hotel quarantine and follow the same guidelines as fully vaccinated international arrivals. Should I select ‘Quarantine free arrival’? but it said ‘fully vaccinated only’ in a bracket.
Hi @hae park - you're most welcome! 😊 As per the NSW Govt website: *International arrivals* From 30 April 2022, international arrivals who are not fully vaccinated will *not be required to enter hotel quarantine.* They will be required to comply with the same requirements as fully vaccinated international arrivals, including having a rapid antigen test within 24 hours of arrival and self-isolating until they receive a negative result. *All passengers arriving from overseas* All international passengers travelling to Australia must comply with Australian Government entry requirements Upon arrival into NSW, passengers must: 1. *Go straight to your home or accommodation* 2. Take a COVID-19 rapid antigen test 3. Self-isolate until you get a negative test result 4. You must not visit high-risk places for at least 7 days after arrival High-risk places include aged care, disability care, healthcare and correctional facilities. You must not visit these places unless you are seeking personal care, or are a resident of a facility. For the next 7 days, a negative rapid antigen test in the 24 hours prior to visiting the facility is strongly recommended. Please check with the facility before visiting. www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/travel-restrictions/international-travel-rules @hae park - going off the above information from the NSW Govt - 1. In regards to your situation, this is my personal interpretation as follows: (a) Govt managed (*not applicable* - due to the NSW Govt announcement) (b) Quarantine free arrival (fully vaccinated) - these are normally flights with all fully vaccinated passengers - *not applicable* (c) Other quarantine arrangements including home quarantine *APPLICABLE TO YOU* - I would definitely opt for this one As I'm no expert - if you need to reach out to Global Service Centre - their contact details are: Phone: +61 2 6196 0196 (outside Australia) for advice as needed. @11;38, where is the option for unvaccinated travelers? NSW does not require vaccination anymore, but has given me no option to select an appropriate response.
Hi! @Biskuterpa - another viewer had a similar question - I'll paste my reply to that viewer below for you - in the hope that what's relevant to you will be of some help: 1. Based on the NSW Govt announcement that: "From 30 April 2022, international arrivals who are not fully vaccinated will not be required to enter hotel quarantine. They will be required to comply with the same requirements as fully vaccinated international arrivals, including having a rapid antigen test within 24 hours of arrival and self-isolating until they receive a negative result." (a) As per the above announcement - for the Quarantine section I would select 'Other quarantine arrangements including home quarantine' - as this will be the closest option that aligns with the NSW announcement (b) If for some reason you get pulled up for it - you can explain this was the closest option that aligned with your situation and the NSW Govt announcement. 2. For the Health Declaration section - based on the information you've provided, you'd answer the following questions like so: (a) Are you are an Australian Citizen - YES (b) I am U18 ... not fully vaccinated - (I'm assuming) this is NO (c) I am over 18 yrs ... cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons ... (I'm assuming) this is NO (d) I do not meet Australia's vaccination requirements - (I'm assuming) this is NO (e) Proceed to CONTINUE 3. The next step is: REVIEW HEALTH INFORMATION - (a) you now have the option to 'SUBMIT' your Health declaration. 4. Once you submit your DPD - you'll receive an email that your DPD is complete. (a) Your DPD Summary which you need to present will say: "Confirmation required at check-in". (b) Because the airline staff flying into NSW "should be" familiar with the update for unvaccinated travellers travelling into NSW - they shouldn't have any issues with allowing you to board the flight as NSW has clearly stated on their Govt website the update. --- If you need to seek assistance from the Global Service Centre - their contact details are: Phone: +61 2 6196 0196 (outside Australia) for advice as needed. Hope that helps @Biskuterpa - all the best, safe travels and you take care. 😊🙏
Hey Helen, Thanks for this detailed video. Such a helpful. I just want to ask how much earlier I can submit my dpd ?? Can I submit it 50 days prior travelling back to Australia?? Thank you
Hi @Naveed Qureshi - You're most welcome! The short answer to your question is 'NO'. Heres what the DPD FAQ'S say: *When do I submit my DPD?* You can start a DPD *seven days before your flight,* but you must submit it before you depart for Australia. If you do not complete a DPD before check-in, you may face unnecessary delays on arrival in Australia. 1. As per your question - you can't submit the DPD 50 days before you travel to Australia, but you can submit it 7 days before your departure flight for Australia. If you need to reach out to the Global Service Centre - their contact details are: Phone: +61 2 6196 0196 (outside Australia) for advice as needed. Hi @Crystal yyeeahh 1. I received mine immediately. 2. Did you need to enter flight details manually? Did you 'Submit' the travel details section? (a). Thanks Helen! Has the ‘Health information’ section changed since your previous video? The PCR test requirement has been removed so I wonder if that’s reflected in the DPD. Thanks!
Hi @Deshan Mallawa - 1. The Health Information section has changed from the previous tutorial in that there is no longer a requirement to upload a negative RAT/PCR test result before departure flight for Australia. 2. Hi Helen, As of today, non vaccinated Australian citizens no longer have to quarantine when arriving to NSW. THE DPD form still asks for vaccination status and there is no-where to fill in unvaccinated and be allowed to enter the country. Can you please tell us how to manage this? I have been phoning the Home Affairs office for the past few days and have been on hold each time for 59 minutes and 59 seconds before being cut off! It has become quite stressful. We hope to come this week two weeks to visit our sick (very sick) brother. To whom do we turn? Will the DPD form allow us to fill in being unvaccinated and have no problems entering the country or boarding the flights to arrive?
Hi @Jill Kuchar - sorry to hear that your brother is very sick - prayers and blessings out to your brother and your family. 1. @@HelenHotaiFormHelpFounder Thankyou so much Helen. The answer for 2 (d) would be YES, that we do not meet the Australian vaccination requirements. Will we be able to proceed after a YES response?
Hi @@jillkuchar3172 - that's interesting you could essentially answer the same question two ways: 1. 'NO' I do not meet Australia's vaccination requirements; and 2. 'YES' I do not meet Australia's vaccination requirements 3. Hi Helen, for the part where it asks “have you been in any other countries in the 14 days prior to your flight?” i’m flying from America so should I put United States or just leave it empty? Thanks again for this very informative video!
Hi @ayeshx_ 1. Yes this is a common query - the question is asking: have you been or will you be in other countries 14 days prior to your flight to Australia? (a). Some ppl interpret to mean that if they are flying directly from their country to Australia then it's a 'NO', whereas (b). Some ppl interpret to mean that if they are flying directly from their country to Australia then 'YES' they have been in another country - the one they've just flown from. As far as I'm concerned, as it states "other" countries and you have already provided your Flight Details from the US, it means anywhere "other" than the inbound flight's departure country. So I would choose "No". Otherwise what is the purpose of the "No" option at all, given everyone completing a DPD is flying into Australia from an international destination ??.
Hi Helen, thanks for the updated video. We are coming to OZ on Monday on a temporary sponsored parent visa for 1 month returning to the UK and the returning to OZ on The 1St of September for 4 1/2 years to live so for the length of stay should We select staying for the next 12months option??
@Barbara Strongitharm - you're most welcome! 1. Based on the information you've provided: (a) You are arriving into Australia on Monday 09 May? (b) You're here on a temporary visa for 1 month. (c) You're leaving Australia and returning to the UK after 1 month (d) You're returning to Australia on 01 September and will be staying for 4.5 years 2. For the DPD you'll be applying for - for Monday 09 May, based on the information you've provided: (a) In my example for 'do you intend to live in Australia for 12 months' - put in "NO" (it will still work if you choose YES, but I think 'NO' is more technically correct) (b) Select that you're a 'Visitor or temporary resident' (c) Select You're intended length or stay: either 1 month OR 4 weeks or whatever it is 3. Hi Helen Hotai, a question in Vaccination details is Do you have vaccination certificate or evident of vaccination to up load? -if we answer Yes , we can up load it -If we answer No , how can we declare it by manual in case we do not know how to up load it, although we have got full original Australia Vaccination Certificate , thanks and regards
Hi @tuyen nguyen - 1. Answer 'YES' 2. Then upload your Australian Vaccination Certificate (it looks like you need to do this for Australian vaccination certificate and any other vaccination certificate/ or evidence regardless of which country it's from) (a) If you can save your Australian Vaccination Certificate as a pdf - then (b) Upload it by selecting 'Upload vaccination certificate or evidence' then (c) Fill in the vaccination details as per the video. I'll try and put together a quick little video on how to upload - as I've had a few viewers asking to show how to upload the Vaccination certificate and the Passport details. Hope that helps - all the best, take care and safe travels 😊🙏
Hi @Daryl Cheah 1. If you have proof of vaccination and meet Australia's definition of fully vaccinated - (a) you only need to upload your certificate; (b) select the number of doses you've had; and (c) then manually input the information as per the tutorial ie: (i) date of vaccination; (ii) country of vaccination; (iii) vaccine brand 2. In NZ we have/had: (a) vaccination pass - for travel within NZ; (now obsolete) and (b) vaccination certificate - for international travel (this certificate complies with EU Digital COVID Certificate standards) 3. If your vaccination certificate/document is the one your country issues for international travel - then ensure you use that one - 4. Double check that you meet Australia's definition of fully vaccinated: www.homeaffairs.gov.au/covid19/vaccination-testing As I'm no expert - please reach out to Global Service Centre - their contact details are: Phone: +61 2 6196 0196 (outside Australia) for advice as needed. Hi @Tan le - see the reply given to another viewer with the same query: 1. See time stamp in the tutorial: "18:16" If you're under 18 years of age and not fully vaccinated 2. This is where you can put that your child is under 18 and not vaccinated. From memory, there will be a section for you to provide details as to why your child is not vaccinated. Here's what the FAQs for International travellers say: What travel restrictions apply to children in relation to vaccination? Children aged under 12 years and 3 months, as demonstrated by their passport, travelling to Australia do not need to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination. Hello Helen, I have a question. Yesterday, I fullfilled my trip detail section then I wanted to continue with quarantine details but when I tried to open it the website just closed, i tried it again and again, i also tried to do this in DPD app but it never loads the page and it always closes. Not sure what to do, should i wait till monday or something like that? I’m travelling with my dad and friends to australia, so we tried multiple devices and accounts and it just doesnt work. Thank you
Hi! @Marika Hudcová 1. Hopefully it's working now? 2. Is your flight within the next 7 days? The system will only recognise flights flying within 7 days. If it's not within the next 7 days - try again within 7 days of your departure flight to Australia. 3. In my example - (a) I did notice that following the completion of my flight trip details, (b) I received an email to inform me that I could commence my Quarantine details section. Once I had finished filling in the quarantine section (c) I received an email to inform me that I could commence my Health information section. Once I had finished filling the Health section (d) I received an email to inform me that I had completed my DPD If you need to reach out to Global Service Centre - their contact details are: Phone: +61 2 6196 0196 (outside Australia) for advice as needed. Is it ok to make a new one, even though its already been submitted?
Hey! @ClayMax Channel - Here's what the DPD FAQs say: *Does a DPD require updating if flight date has changed but the flight number is still the same?* Yes. The date of departure is critical to the DPD. *If your Trip details have been submitted, and the date change is greater than 3 days, a new DPD must be created.* immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/help-text/dpd/Pages/faq-english.aspx 1. Hi Helen^^ It says there the Health Declaration part will unlock 72 hours before flight..I finished my DPD today and my flight is Saturday. I don't understand how it is unlocked early :-))
Hey! @Theena린 1. I just looked it up - there's no longer a FAQ that says the Health Declaration will unlock "72 hours" before your departure flight - meaning it will likely just show up like the other 2 sections. 2. This makes sense - as those 3 days were more to allow people to upload their negative PCR / RAT's before travel - but now that that requirement no longer exists it makes sense not to have it locked until 3 days before departure. Thanks for bringing that to my attention @Theena린 - all the best, safe travels and you take care! 🙏😊

@@HelenHotaiFormHelpFounder Thank you. I thought a lot about this and I added the first domestic flight because the first departure is important to submit DPD before 72 hours. @@umarimran7943 - here's what the DPD FAQ's say: *Do I need to include countries I’ve transited on my way to Australia in my travel history?* Yes. If your flight to Australia involves one or more stops, you should include the transit countries in the travel history section of the DPD. So for example, if a flight was taken from Norway to Australia, with stops in Amsterdam and Kuala Lumpur, you should include the Netherlands and Malaysia in the travel history section of the DPD. 1. In your situation @Umar Imran - if you've transited any countries on your way to Australia then add those to your travel history. (a). Personally I would also add the country I originally flew from - in my example because I was flying from NZ, I added NZ. (b). Hi Helen! I am having problems entering my flight number from Philippines to Singapore. (This is my layover flight before the one which lands in Australia). I can't enter it manually as well as it says only numbers are accepted. Do I have to enter my flight from PHL to SIN? Is this necessary? Or just the one from SIN to Australia? Please answer
Hi @Jonielyn Salazar 1. Is your flight flying within the next 7 days? The DPD flight section will only recognise flights flying within 7 days of your departure flight. 2. I know of some ppl who have just entered their landing flight into Australia. However, the DPD FAQ's does state that you need to enter your first flight (departure) and your landing flight into Australia. Here's what the DPD FAQ's say: *What if the DPD can't find my flight?* A DPD can only be created if the flight is within seven (7) days of the departure date. The DPD will not return a result for a flight that is more than seven (7) days away. When adding flight details, check the format for the flight number is correct, e.g. NZ103 not NZ0103, or QF2 not QF002. If the flight is within the seven day limit, and the system doesn't recognise the flight number, you should select the link Can't find your flight? and enter the details in the fields provided. *What flight details are required if I have multiple flights (stops) before arriving in Australia?* If you have multiple flights (stops) before arriving in Australia, please enter your first flight, and the one that lands in Australia. Hey Helen, I have a connecting flight while going to Sydney but i didn’t know how to mention it. So i just selected the last flight that I’m going to Australia with. Is that ok or should i create another DPD mention the transit countries in my travel history?
Hi @Faisal Khan - 1. I know some people have mentioned that they didn't include their first flight - just their flight landing into Australia for their DPD (a) Be mindful of the question regarding the countries you have transited to get to Australia - you'll need to put these in your DPD 2. You can start a new DPD if you have made an error that can't be corrected. IF you're not sure how to enter your first and second flight - see the tutorial below at the time stamps: "5:20" and "6:06" - it will give you an idea as to how to enter 2 flights (this is the App version an older version) ua-cam.com/video/lFmmUdwXcR8/v-deo.html 3. See what the FAQ's say regarding multiple flights and travel history: *What flight details are required if I have multiple flights (stops) before arriving in Australia?* If you have multiple flights (stops) before arriving in Australia, please enter your first flight, and the one that lands in Australia. The DPD Summary screen only displays one flight. If you have entered multiple flights, it will display the first flight. *Do I need to include countries I’ve transited on my way to Australia in my travel history?* Yes. If your flight to Australia involves one or more stops, you should include the transit countries in the travel history section of the DPD. So for example, if a flight was taken from Norway to Australia, with stops in Amsterdam and Kuala Lumpur, you should include the Netherlands and Malaysia in the travel history section of the DPD. immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/help-text/dpd/Pages/faq-english.aspx If you need to speak to the experts - reach out to the Global Service Centre for their advice as you need, their contact details are: Phone: +61 2 6196 0196 (outside Australia). @Faisal Khan - personally I would create a new DPD to reflect my first flight and landing flight into Australia as that is what the DPD has stated. Hope that helps, all the best, safe travels and take care. 🙏😊
Hey! @Hey Jays - Here's what the DPD FAQ's say: I am transiting Australia, what address do I enter when completing my DPD? If you are transiting Australia, you will need to enter an address under the contact details section of the DPD. For the Intended address in Australia, *select the option to Enter address manually.* If your transit time is less than eight (8) hours, enter the name of the airport you are transiting through as your intended address. If your transit time is between 8 and 72 hours and you are intending to leave the airport, enter the address of the location you will be spending most of your transit time. If you are not intending to leave the airport, enter the name of the airport you are transiting through. immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/help-text/dpd/Pages/faq-english.aspx If you need to reach out to Global Service Centre - their contact details are: Phone: +61 2 6196 0196 (outside Australia) for advice as needed. Hey, I am facing a problem in vaccination details sector..This section is different from yours... it's asking me to scan my vaccination certificate which is totally fine but when I am doing scan it shows invalid....I am from Bangladesh... definitely my vaccination certificate is issued in Bangladesh... Plz help....plzzzz
Hi @Shanila yunus - 1. The only vaccination certificates it will scan are the 'Australian' issued ones with the Australian QR codes 2. Everyone else that has another vaccination certificate from another country other than Australia, needs to upload their certificate and then enter their details manually - like the example in the tutorial. If you need to reach out to Global Service Centre - their contact details are: Phone: +61 2 6196 0196 (outside Australia) for advice as needed. All the best, take care and safe travels. 🙏😊
Hi Helen, last year my 485 visa got expired and I came back to my country. Now I got a 485 visa (temporary resident visa) extension from Aus Govt recently. My visa is till 30 September 2022. I'm flying on 15th May. I might (not sure though) want to apply for another visa before the current one expires. So what should I select for- Do you intend to live in Australia for the next 12 months? Yes or No? And am I a temporary entrant or resident returning to Aus?
Hi @Anis Siddique Chowdhury 1. Based on the information you've provided: (a) It depends on your intention? Do you intend to live there for a few months or years? OR just visiting for a few months or years? And then select which one fits your situation: YES or NO. (one of the viewers pointed out that technically he was only visiting and wouldn't it be better if he selected 'NO' as he wasn't intending on living here for 3 weeks - he was only visiting family. He was was right - he wasn't intending on living here, just visiting as a temporary entrant). (b). I know of another viewer who was returning after lock down on their Visa - they had lived in Australia for a few years but were advised to put down that they were a temporary entrant as per their visa conditions. Because they weren't a permanent resident - they were considered a temporary entrant. Resident? OR visitor/temporary entrant? It depends on what the conditions of your Visa are. If you're not a permanent resident - then go ahead and select visitor/entrant. You should also reach out to the Global Service Centre and seek some guidance and clarification from them as you need, as they're the experts. Their contact details are: Phone: +61 2 6196 0196 (outside Australia). Hope that helps @Anis Siddique Chowdhury - safe travels, all the best and take care. 😊🙏
I had covid on 19 April. What should I do? Do I have to bring medical certificate with me? Or any requirements, I should know. I will be traveling on the 6th of May. Thanks 🙏🏻
Hey! @The JunieX 1. You would've noticed in the tutorial that the question of whether you've had covid or been a close contact no longer appears in the DPD; (a) And that there is no longer a requirement to present a negative PCR or RAT test before boarding your flight for Australia; (b) However, depending on which State/Territory you travel to - you will need to know what their entry requirements are; (c) Some states may require you to have a test PCR/RAT within 24 hrs of arrival into Australia and then isolate at your accomodation until you test negative. Hope that helps @The JunieX - all the best and safe travels! 😊🙏
Hi @Marivel Galitguit - here's what the DPD FAQs say: *Completing a DPD* A DPD can only be created if the flight is within seven (7) days of the departure date. The DPD will not return a result for a flight that is more than seven (7) days away. immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/help-text/dpd/Pages/faq-english.aspx 1. NO - you cannot apply for your DPD weeks before your departure flight. (a). It needs to be within 7 days of your departure date. Hope that helps - all the best and take care. 😊🙏
Hi @Xiantee 1. When you manually enter your passport details - (a) You still need to upload your passport page (page with passport photo and personal details). Hi Helen, thanks for the video. I have a few questions, For contact details, can I put in my brother's Australian Phone Number who is currently living there? Or is it better to enter my current overseas number? (This number will no longer contactable once I depart my country) Also, for the question 'Are you an Australian Citizen, permanent resident or immediate family member?' My aunt and uncle are Permanent Residents, and their children (my cousins) are Australian Citizens. Do they count as immediate family? Do I choose 'Yes' or 'No' in this case? For length of intended stay, I will be staying Australia for a total of 21 months, so is it alright if I enter it as 21 months directly? Or should it be in years (1.75 years) Thank you so much in advance!
Hi @STORM - apologies, I was quite unwell and ended up in hospital with pneumonia. Im still in hospital but have some energy now and you're the first on my list (I’d prefer to be on laptop answering as it’ll be a lot quicker - but all I have is my phone) 1. You can use your brothers contact number as your contact number 2. You can select that you’re an immediate family member. Your brother is immediate family. I personally consider my aunts/uncles and first cousins immediate family too. 3. And putting in 21 mths is fine. 4. Don't forget you can also seek assistance from the Global Service Centre as well if needed. Apologies for the late reply, take care, safe travels and all the best 🙏😊
Hi Ms Helen I just wanna ask regarding the travel intent.my husbansd is holding temporary skill visa 482.what we should type?migrating permanently to Australia or visitor or temporary entrant?thanks
Hi @Donna 1. I had a similar query from another viewer who was returning after the lockdown to Australia, (this person was on a visa living in Australia) (a) From memory they were advised by the Global Service Centre to select 'visitor or temporary resident' (this was dependent on the person's visa conditions) (b) However - my memory could have totally failed me! @Donna - I would reach out to the Global Service and seek their advice or confirmation. Their contact details are: Phone: +61 2 6196 0196 (outside Australia). Sorry I couldn't be of more help - you take care, safe travels and all the best to you and hubby. 😊🙏
Hi! @Onkar Sharma - Here's what the FAQ's say: *What if my passport has been updated since I submitted my DPD?* You will need to create a new DPD based upon the new passport details. 1. As per the FAQ's you'll need to provide your current passport details. If you need to reach out to the Global Service Centre - their contact details are: Phone: +61 2 6196 0196 (outside Australia) for advice as needed. Hope that helps, all the best, safe travels and take care. 😊🙏
Hi @Lakers fan 1. It looks like entry requirements for each of the States/Territories are easing ie (a). In some states - if you're unvaccinated - you aren't required to quarantine, you just isolate until you receive a negative PCR/RAT result. 2. For the DPD - If you're unvaccinated and don't have an exemption - you're email outcome will likely be: "You'll need to be confirmed at check in" - I wouldn't be concerned at all about this outcome with the easing of restrictions - it sounds like everyone will be able to board even if you're unvaccinated due to the easing of restrictions. If you need to reach out to the Global Service Centre - their contact details are: Phone: +61 2 6196 0196 (outside Australia). All the best on your travels - should you decide to! Take care! 😊🙏
Hi @Lakers fan - FYI, I just saw this: INTERNATIONAL TRAVELLERS INTO AND OUT OF AUSTRALIA will STILL BE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE PROOF OF DOUBLE VACCINATION against COVID-19. Travellers will also still be required to wear a mask while on international flights based on medical advice. Hi @notispanos32 - here's what I've found: *I have not been vaccinated. Can I still travel?* Yes. Hi Helen, is a Permanent Resident/Aus Citizen in a different category to a International traveller, ie if I am travelling Internationally as an Aus Citizen, am I considered a Citizen or a International traveller? I am asking as the gov websites looks to have different vaccine requirements for Citizens (none) than it does for International travellers. Just clarifying that Citizens returning from abroad to Australia is not classed as an International traveller for these purposes?
@@judiejansevanrensburg133 1. If you're an Australian citizen and a question asks whether you're an 'Australian citizen' - (a) Select 'Australian citizen' as that's what your citizenship status is. 2. Regarding the Department of Health website: *I HAVE NOT BEEN VACCINATED. CAN I STILL TRAVEL?* *Yes. Australian permanent residents and citizens can travel to Australia regardless of their vaccination status, subject to passenger caps and state and territory quarantine requirements.* www.health.gov.au/sites/default/files/documents/2022/04/coronavirus-covid-19-frequently-asked-questions-international-travellers_0.pdf www.health.gov.au/health-alerts/covid-19/international-travel/inbound @Judie Janse van Rensburg - as per the above information from the Department of Health's website, my interpretation is that if you're a citizen or permanent resident of Australia - you can return home to Australia regardless of your vaccination. However, this will depend on passenger caps. However, if you're an international traveller (non-resident/citizen) and you're unvaccinated and don't have an exemption, then at this stage it will be hard to enter Australia. Until this requirement is scrapped. You'll also notice that the Health website refers to people coming into the country: citizens/residents and non citizens as 'inbound travellers'. However, when addressing vaccination requirements - there is a clear distinction in that it does not include anyone other than permanent residents of Australia or citizens of Australia.
If you need to reach out to Global Service Centre - their contact details are: Phone: +61 2 6196 0196 (outside Australia) for advice as needed. I hope that makes sense @Judie Janse van Rensburg - all the best, take care and safe travels. 😊🙏
Hey! @di brentley - it depends on which State / Territory you travel to 1. I know for NSW - there's no requirement for unvaxxed to go into mandatory quarantine anymore 👏 2. WA - has scrapped the G2G Pass 👏 I'm not sure about the rest - but restrictions are definitely easing all around the world - which is great! You take care! @di brentley 😊🙏
19:28 "I do not meet Australia's vaccination requirements" - Yes or no I don't know why they worded it this way but it is causing a lot of people unnecessary headaches and anxiety. Surely the government wouldn't fine you for answering this statement incorrectly... If you do not meet the requirements, the answer is = NO If you do meet the requirements, the answer is = YES
Hi again @Biskuterpa - great question! 1. When I first read this question and looking at it from the perspective of someone who is unvaccinated (a) I instinctively would have answered 'NO - I do not meet Australia's vaccination requirements' (b) I didn't think twice about how to answer this query until another viewer who was unvaccinated answered it as 'YES'. When you think about it, everyone sees or interprets questions differently - I answered with a 'NO' - this person answered with a 'YES' - (c) what we were both getting at is: "NO" I do not meet Australia's vaccination requirements OR 'YES' I agree with the statement: I don't meet Australia's vaccination requirement. 2. To make it clearer, I personally would have worded the question: "Do you meet Australia's vaccination requirement" YES or NO 3. The second question: "I declare I am fully vaccinated with an Australian approved or recognised Covid 19 vaccine" - YES or NO. (a) IF you answer "NO" to this question - based on this information they likely already know that you are unvaccinated; (b) Now they want to know why ... medical, age etc ... If you need to seek further clarification from the experts at the Global Service Centre - they can be contacted on: Phone: +61 2 6196 0196 (outside Australia) for advice as needed. @Biskuterpa - hope that's of some help - you take care and all the best with your DPD and safe travels. 😊🙏

Hi @Parvinder singh
1. See time stamp in the tutorial: "18:16" If you're under 18 years of age and not fully vaccinated
2. This is where you can put that your child is under 18 and not vaccinated. From memory, there will be a section for you to provide details as to why your child is not vaccinated.
Here's what the FAQs for International travellers say:
*What travel restrictions apply to children in relation to vaccination?*
Children aged under 12 years and 3 months, as demonstrated by their passport, travelling to Australia do not need to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination. States and territories may vary in their quarantine requirements for children. Please check the local health department website of the state or territory of your first arrival for applicable quarantine requirements.

Can you refuse the DPD and just fill in the declaration card like before?
Hi @Tipratpom30 - Here's what the Australian Govt says:
*Overview*
All passengers arriving by air into Australia should complete the DPD. You can start a DPD seven days before your flight, but you must submit it before you depart for Australia. Passengers who do not complete a DPD before departing may face unnecessary delays on arrival in Australia.
When filling out the DPD, you will need to:
provide your contact details, including a contact phone number in Australia
make a legally binding declaration in relation to your vaccination status
make a declaration about your travel history in the last 14 days
make a declaration that you are aware of the quarantine and testing requirements that apply when coming to Australia and in the state or territory you are landing and the penalties for non-compliance.
Note: Before you complete your DPD, check all other travel requirements for Australia. For a list of all documents you need before you travel see the information for Vaccinated travellers and Unvaccinated travellers.
*Penalties and enforcement*
The DPD requests critical health information.
Visa holders who arrive in Australia may have their visa cancelled and be detained and removed if they:
are not fully vaccinated for international travel purposes in accordance with Australia's border entry requirements; or
do not have a medical contraindication to a COVID-19 vaccine as defined by the Australian Government; or
are not in an exempt category or hold an individual travel exemption.
www.homeaffairs.gov.au/covid19/digital-passenger-declaration
Here's what the DPD FAQ's say regarding the Incoming Passenger Card:
*Do I still need to complete an incoming passenger card?*
Yes, you still need to complete an incoming passenger card (IPC). This is in addition to the DPD. We are working to include the IPC information within the DPD in the future.

1. As per the FAQ's and the information you've provided
(a) If this is a direct flight to Melbourne - you should be able to commence your DPD application on 14 May 2022 at 8.30 pm - this being 7 days from your departure flight to Melbourne.
*What flight details are required if I have multiple flights (stops) before arriving in Australia?*
If you have multiple flights (stops) before arriving in Australia, please enter your first flight, and the one that lands in Australia.
The DPD Summary screen only displays one flight. If you have entered multiple flights, it will display the first flight.
immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/help-text/dpd/Pages/faq-english.aspx
2. If your flight is not a direct flight to Melbourne - you can commence your DPD 7 days from your departure flight -
(a) eg if you were flying from India to Singapore to Melbourne - then you would add 'India' as your departing flight and Singapore as your arrival flight into Australia
(b) In this example - you would commence your DPD 7 days from your departure flight from India to Singapore.
Hope that all makes sense @JoyJoy Dela Paz - all the best, take care and safe travels. 😊🙏

Hi Helen, to the question at 4:45 'have you been to any other country 14 days before entering Australia' - in which circumstance will your answer ever be NO? If you are entering Australia, you are coming from another country no?
@Judie Janse van Rensburg - I must admit your comment had me giggling lol
1. Maybe it's just me - but after doing 3 versions of the DPD and answering queries from all 3
(a) In the older app version it said to include all the countries you had been to 14 days prior to your travel including the ones you had transited
(b) in the one before that it said to include any countries you had travelled to '14 days before your flight to Australia' - this didn't include any transit countries
(c) so for the latest version - this version - I just interpreted it to 'include' your home country that you had flown from - however I could be totally wrong and maybe it does just mean any transiting countries and if you're not transiting any countries - maybe that's where the 'no' might come in? To be honest I really don't know?
Well - thanks for giving me a laugh - I don't know if I just confused you even more - but you go ahead and put in what you understand that question to mean. You can't be wrong in interpreting the question in the way that you did.
Again, all the best @Judie Janse van Rensburg - hope it all goes well, you take care and safe travels and don't forget to reach out to the Global Service Centre - they'll be the ones to give you expert advice. 🙏😊

Hi @Blink Intervention - apologies for the delay, I'm playing catch up! Here's what the DPD FAQ's say:
*I am transiting Australia, do I need to submit a DPD?*
Yes. Travellers who are transiting Australia to another destination should complete a DPD.
*I am transiting Australia, what address do I enter when completing my DPD?*
If you are transiting Australia, you will need to enter an address under the contact details section of the DPD.
For the Intended address in Australia, select the option to Enter address manually.
If your transit time is less than eight (8) hours, enter the name of the airport you are transiting through as your intended address.

It wont send me a verification code to my email address so therefore can't fill it out, what do i do
Hi @ELEENUS - here's some DPD FAQ's that you might find helpful:
*ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT*
*DPD account*
To complete and submit a DPD, travellers will need to create a DPD account.
*Can I access my DPD account from the online form and the mobile app?*
Yes. You can use the same log in details for both the online web form and mobile application versions. You can access the same information using either the online form or the mobile app.
*I’ve forgotten my username or password, what do I do?*
If you cannot remember your username or password, you can select the Forgot password? link and follow the steps below:
- On the Login Details screen, select the Forgot password? link.
- Enter the email address you registered the account with. You will receive a one-time passcode from Microsoft.
- Enter the passcode within the following 4 minutes.
- Set the new password. You will be logged in once the password is reset.
Note: If you do not receive a one-time passcode, please check your email address is entered correctly and check your spam/junk mail folder
*What if the DPD won't accept a new password?*
The DPD requires a complex password that meets the following criteria:
- 10 characters or longer
- contains at least 3 from the following sets:
- capital letters
- lowercase letters
- special characters
- numbers
- does not contain sequences of 3 or more (i.e.123, abc) or 3 or more repeated characters (i.e. 111, aaa).
*Can I update my account details?*
Yes.
Once logged in, select the menu at the top right of the screen, then select *My Account*
Before updating the information, the system will require authentication through a one-time passcode sent to the mobile or email address provided.
The following details can be updated:
- password
- mobile phone
- landline phone
- e-mail address
- preferred contact method
- preferred two-factor security authentication method
*Why can’t I log into my DPD account?*
If you are unable to log into your DPD, you should reset your password. To reset your password, follow the above steps at ‘I’ve forgotten my username or password, what do I do?’

@Farah Surjadi
(a).I 'think' I chose 'YES' for this question - because in the past with the original ATD it wouldn't accept a 'NO'
Rachel
Hi @Rachel Kincaid - that doesn't sound good
1. Have you 'submitted' each section?
(a) Did it show up that you had 'completed' each of the sub sections under (i) Trip details; (ii) Quarantine details; (iii) Health Information

Hi Helen, do you know if the DPD App has an updated version
Hi @Jan Hepworth - hope you're well! 😊
1. If you use the DPD App - it does reflect the updated changes. I've just looked at it and it has been updated. 👍

Hi Helen,
Thank you for the detailed video. It is very helpful.
I have a question
I am an Australian citizen returning to Sydney, but I have not been vaccinated yet.
😊 As per the NSW Govt website:
*International arrivals*
From 30 April 2022, international arrivals who are not fully vaccinated will *not be required to enter hotel quarantine.* They will be required to comply with the same requirements as fully vaccinated international arrivals, including having a rapid antigen test within 24 hours of arrival and self-isolating until they receive a negative result.
*All passengers arriving from overseas*
All international passengers travelling to Australia must comply with Australian Government entry requirements
Upon arrival into NSW, passengers must:
1. *Go straight to your home or accommodation*
2. Take a COVID-19 rapid antigen test
3. Self-isolate until you get a negative test result
4. You must not visit high-risk places for at least 7 days after arrival
High-risk places include aged care, disability care, healthcare and correctional facilities. You must not visit these places unless you are seeking personal care, or are a resident of a facility. For the next 7 days, a negative rapid antigen test in the 24 hours prior to visiting the facility is strongly recommended. Please check with the facility before visiting.
www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/travel-restrictions/international-travel-rules
@hae park - going off the above information from the NSW Govt -
1. In regards to your situation, this is my personal interpretation as follows:
(a) Govt managed (*not applicable* - due to the NSW Govt announcement)
(b) Quarantine free arrival (fully vaccinated) - these are normally flights with all fully vaccinated passengers - *not applicable*
(c) Other quarantine arrangements including home quarantine *APPLICABLE TO YOU* - I would definitely opt for this one

Hi @Termites are not good for homes - here's what the DPD FAQ's say:

Yes.
If your Trip details have commenced, but not submitted, changes can be made to flight details section of the DPD.
If your Trip details have been submitted, changes cannot be made and a new DPD will need to be created.
*Can a DPD be deleted?*

@11;38, where is the option for unvaccinated travelers? NSW does not require vaccination anymore, but has given me no option to select an appropriate response.
Hi! @Biskuterpa - another viewer had a similar question - I'll paste my reply to that viewer below for you - in the hope that what's relevant to you will be of some help:
1. Based on the NSW Govt announcement that: "From 30 April 2022, international arrivals who are not fully vaccinated will not be required to enter hotel quarantine. They will be required to comply with the same requirements as fully vaccinated international arrivals, including having a rapid antigen test within 24 hours of arrival and self-isolating until they receive a negative result."
(a) As per the above announcement - for the Quarantine section I would select 'Other quarantine arrangements including home quarantine' - as this will be the closest option that aligns with the NSW announcement
(b) If for some reason you get pulled up for it - you can explain this was the closest option that aligned with your situation and the NSW Govt announcement.
2. For the Health Declaration section - based on the information you've provided, you'd answer the following questions like so:
(a) Are you are an Australian Citizen - YES
(b) I am U18 ... not fully vaccinated - (I'm assuming) this is NO
(c) I am over 18 yrs ... cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons ... (I'm assuming) this is NO
(d) I do not meet Australia's vaccination requirements - (I'm assuming) this is NO
(e) Proceed to CONTINUE
3. The next step is: REVIEW HEALTH INFORMATION -
(a) you now have the option to 'SUBMIT' your Health declaration.

1. Based on the NSW Govt announcement that: *"From 30 April 2022, international arrivals who are not fully vaccinated will not be required to enter hotel quarantine. They will be required to comply with the same requirements as fully vaccinated international arrivals, including having a rapid antigen test within 24 hours of arrival and self-isolating until they receive a negative result."*
@Jill Kuchar - I'm no expert by any means, however based on your personal circumstances and the update from the NSW Govt - this is how one would think the process would go - however I could be wrong.
Hope that helps @Jill Kuchar, all the best, hope you get to reunite with your loved ones soon. You take care, thoughts, prayers and blessings out to your brother an your family. 🙏❤
@@HelenHotaiFormHelpFounder Thankyou so much Helen. The answer for 2 (d) would be YES, that we do not meet the Australian vaccination requirements. Will we be able to proceed after a YES response?
Hi @@jillkuchar3172 - that's interesting you could essentially answer the same question two ways:
1. 'NO' I do not meet Australia's vaccination requirements; and
2. 'YES' I do not meet Australia's vaccination requirements
3. I tried with 'YES' I do not meet Australia's vaccination requirements and it was the same outcome from steps 2(e) onwards -
(a) I omitted to include the paragraph that appears at the top of the DPD Summary which reads:
*Attention*
You should print or download this page and store it safely for use when requested on your day of travel. Ensure you have evidence of your vaccination information for presentation before boarding and at the Australian border as required.
The Global Service Centre should be open from 9.30 am onwards (NSW time) - if I were you I would ring them as soon as their lines are open and ask the experts - at least you'll receive a clear answer from them and know what steps to take from there.
I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help - I really hope that all will turn out in your favour and that you can get to Australia soon. All the best @Jill Kuchar - let me know how you get on. Bless you and your family 🙏❤

I tried other times but only had time to wait about 20 minutes. I'm ringing the number that you have to call from overseas.
I'll try them again tomorrow, though not sure what to expect re getting the phone answered. Seems we'll probably be flying Tuesday night.
Hi Helene is pre departure test not required anymore travelling to Australia?. Many thanks
Hi @johnny aponte - that's correct!

Hi Helen, for the part where it asks “have you been in any other countries in the 14 days prior to your flight?” i’m flying from America so should I put United States or just leave it empty? Thanks again for this very informative video!
Hi @ayeshx_
1. Yes this is a common query - the question is asking: have you been or will you be in other countries 14 days prior to your flight to Australia?
(a). Some ppl interpret to mean that if they are flying directly from their country to Australia then it's a 'NO', whereas
(b). Some ppl interpret to mean that if they are flying directly from their country to Australia then 'YES' they have been in another country - the one they've just flown from.
(c) Personally, I would go option (b) - but you go with your interpretation of the question, I think it works either way.

@Barbara Strongitharm - you're most welcome!
1. Based on the information you've provided:
(a) You are arriving into Australia on Monday 09 May?
(b) You're here on a temporary visa for 1 month.
(c) You're leaving Australia and returning to the UK after 1 month
(d) You're returning to Australia on 01 September and will be staying for 4.5 years
2. For the DPD you'll be applying for - for Monday 09 May, based on the information you've provided:
(a) In my example for 'do you intend to live in Australia for 12 months' - put in "NO" (it will still work if you choose YES, but I think 'NO' is more technically correct)
(b) Select that you're a 'Visitor or temporary resident'
(c) Select You're intended length or stay: either 1 month OR 4 weeks or whatever it is
3. When you return in September and IF the DPD is still a thing - then just follow the same process but opt for the 'Years' option and then put in 4

2. Another viewer did mention that she contacted the Global Service Centre and they did confirm there were some technical issues with the system - as she couldn't progress her DPD application after the travel details section.
(a). I'm not sure what the tech issues are? But I hope they're resolved soon - I know this can be very stressful for many people.
(b). Maybe check with the airline that you're flying with to see if they are assisting people as part of the boarding process to complete their DPD's.
(c). It sounds like airline staff are doing this - for those who couldn't finish their DPD's due to technical issues - it pays to call them to confirm.

Hi @Gothic Cherry
1. I've done a few DPD's on behalf of family and friends and I haven't encountered the 'locked' situation as yet.
2. When applying for your DPD - was it within 7 days of your departure flight?
(a). that's the only thing I can think of that may be causing 'locked' to show up;
(b). however, I don't think the system will let you enter flight details that are outside the 7 days departure flight time frame ...
I would call the Global Service Centre and seek their advice. Their contact details are: Phone: +61 2 6196 0196 (outside Australia) for advice as needed.

If you have multiple flights (stops) before arriving in Australia, please enter your *first flight, and the one that lands in Australia.*
The DPD Summary screen only displays one flight. If you have entered multiple flights, it will display the first flight.

Hi Helen, can we enter more than three vaccine dose details? I saw in your video that there was only space to fill maximum of three doses of vaccine details. The reason is my parents received booster shots 4 and 5 to comply with certified vaccine requirements approved by Australian government!
Hi @Yashar Rahmati
1. If you select the 3 or more doses option
(a) and it only gives you the option to put in 3 doses, I would go ahead and add them in the order that I received them
(b) If there is no option to 'add more doses' then I would just leave it as it is
(c) Keep in mind that when you upload your vaccination document(s) - that they will have access to these records and see all the information on your certificate even if it wasn't able to be added in the vaccination section (due to not having an option - if this was the case)
(d) If there was no option for you to add more doses - then you worked with the only option that you had - you can only work with what you've been given.

If you are transiting through Australia you must secure an onwards ticket on a flight that departs Australia no more than 72 hours after your initial entry. If a suitable connecting flight is not available, transit through Australia will not be possible.
Visa requirements:
To transit through Australia you must hold a valid visa or be from an eligible country to Transit without a visa (TWOV).
If you don’t hold a valid visa or are not eligible to TWOV you must apply for a visa to enter Australia. The Australian Transit visa (subclass 711) permits eligible persons to transit through Australia for up to 72 hours. You can use our visa finder to explore visa options to see what visa may be suitable for you.

@Akash Sharma - regarding the facial recognition - if you're doing the online version of the DPD you only need to upload your passport page with your photo (and provide all the details as per the online version). Doing the App version requires you to scan the chip and do the facial recognition part - some people have difficulty with the app version when they get to this part - if you're one of these people I would just do the online version.

Hi Helen, my baby boy lest then 2 yr old, and we get stuck at the near last question which say proof of your vaccination he's not even 2, do we still need to answer the question for him?
Hi @Tan le - see the reply given to another viewer with the same query:
What travel restrictions apply to children in relation to vaccination?
Children aged under 12 years and 3 months, as demonstrated by their passport, travelling to Australia do not need to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination. States and territories may vary in their quarantine requirements for children. Please check the local health department website of the state or territory of your first arrival for applicable quarantine requirements.

Hi Helen, I'm transiting in Australia for 2 hours only. Re the travel Intent, I will choose "visitor or temporary entrant" ? What will I choose on the intended length in Australia? It only shows options like years. month and days. There's no hours option. Thanks in Advance, really appreciate it.
To add - Do you have an idea the street number that I can put in the Sydney Kingsford address? Is requires a street number.
Hi @Wesley Ronquillo - great question!
1. I would select 1 day - as that would be the closest option to your scenario (you're there for only 2 hours - so less than a day)
Here's what the FAQ's say:
*I am transiting Australia, what address do I enter when completing my DPD?*
If you are transiting Australia, you will need to enter an address under the contact details section of the DPD.
For the Intended address in Australia, select the option to Enter address manually.
If your transit time is less than eight (8) hours, enter the name of the airport you are transiting through as your intended address.
If your transit time is between 8 and 72 hours and you are intending to leave the airport, enter the address of the location you will be spending most of your transit time. If you are not intending to leave the airport, enter the name of the airport you are transiting through.
immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/help-text/dpd/Pages/faq-english.aspx
2. As per the information you've provided:
(a) Enter your address *manually*
(b) As your transit time is less than 8 hrs - enter the *name* of the airport you're transiting through as your intended address - in your case you will need to *manually* enter "Sydney Kingsford Airport".

Hello Helen, I have a question.
Yesterday, I fullfilled my trip detail section then I wanted to continue with quarantine details but when I tried to open it the website just closed, i tried it again and again, i also tried to do this in DPD app but it never loads the page and it always closes.
I’m not sure why. Am I supposed to wait for some email or is it something else?
I read the coments and you said that you recieved the email in few minutes but i fullfilled it yesterday and yet I’ve not recieved anything.
Not sure what to do, should i wait till monday or something like that?
I’m travelling with my dad and friends to australia, so we tried multiple devices and accounts and it just doesnt work.
Thank you
Hi! @Marika Hudcová
1. Hopefully it's working now?
2. Is your flight within the next 7 days? The system will only recognise flights flying within 7 days. If it's not within the next 7 days - try again within 7 days of your departure flight to Australia.
3. In my example -
(a) I did notice that following the completion of my flight trip details,
(b) I received an email to inform me that I could commence my Quarantine details section. Once I had finished filling in the quarantine section
(c) I received an email to inform me that I could commence my Health information section. Once I had finished filling the Health section
(d) I received an email to inform me that I had completed my DPD

Is it ok to make a new one, even though its already been submitted?
Hey! @ClayMax Channel - Here's what the DPD FAQs say:
*Does a DPD require updating if flight date has changed but the flight number is still the same?*
Yes. The date of departure is critical to the DPD.
*If your Trip details have been submitted, and the date change is greater than 3 days, a new DPD must be created.*

Hi Helen^^ It says there the Health Declaration part will unlock 72 hours before flight..I finished my DPD today and my flight is Saturday. I don't understand how it is unlocked early :-))
Hey! @Theena린

(a) the number of doses you've had;
(b) date of vaccination;

Thank you. I thought a lot about this and I added the first domestic flight because the first departure is important to submit DPD before 72 hours. There should be a reference for 72 hours and I think it should be the first departure as all flights are bonded.
Thanks a lot. :) :)
@@umarimran7943 - here's what the DPD FAQ's say:
*Do I need to include countries I’ve transited on my way to Australia in my travel history?*
Yes.
(b). So for my example (NZ-Australia) - I selected 'YES' to include NZ in my travel history. This can be a confusing question for those flying directly to Australia from their question - I interpreted the question to mean that, so that's how I answered it. Others may have their own interpretation.

How about my unvaccinated son (10yrs old), I can't submit his dpd because of the health declaration. Can anyone help me what to do?
Hi @Lenie Llamera

(a) ... I am fully vaccinated ... based on the information you've provided for your 10 yr old son - you will answer "NO"
(b) I am under 18 years of age and not fully vaccinated - you will answer "YES"
(c) You can then proceed to the "CONTINUE" button;
(d) You should now be able to "SUBMIT" your Health Information
(e) Expect to receive an email that says "Confirmation required at check in"
2. Depending on what state you're entering as well - you need to ensure you meet their entry requirements - I know for NSW there is no longer a requirement for the unvaccinated to quarantine on arrival.

Again, thank you for your time and help
Hi @davimartinsivad - you're most welcome!

Do I have to enter my flight from PHL to SIN? Is this necessary? Or just the one from SIN to Australia? Please answer
Hi @Jonielyn Salazar
Here's what the DPD FAQ's say:
*What if the DPD can't find my flight?*
A DPD can only be created if the flight is within seven (7) days of the departure date.

If you are transiting Australia, you will need to enter an address under the contact details section of the DPD.
For the Intended address in Australia, *select the option to Enter address manually.*

Hi @Shanila yunus -
1. The only vaccination certificates it will scan are the 'Australian' issued ones with the Australian QR codes
2. Everyone else that has another vaccination certificate from another country other than Australia, needs to upload their certificate and then enter their details manually - like the example in the tutorial.

Hi @Anis Siddique Chowdhury
1. Based on the information you've provided:
(a) It depends on your intention?

Thanks 🙏🏻
Hey! @The JunieX
1. You would've noticed in the tutorial that the question of whether you've had covid or been a close contact no longer appears in the DPD;
(a) And that there is no longer a requirement to present a negative PCR or RAT test before boarding your flight for Australia;
(b) However, depending on which State/Territory you travel to - you will need to know what their entry requirements are;
(c) Some states may require you to have a test PCR/RAT within 24 hrs of arrival into Australia and then isolate at your accomodation until you test negative.
Hope that helps @The JunieX - all the best and safe travels! 😊🙏
Can I fill up DPD form 3 weeks before my departure ?
Hi @Marivel Galitguit - here's what the DPD FAQs say:
*Completing a DPD*
A DPD can only be created if the flight is within seven (7) days of the departure date. The DPD will not return a result for a flight that is more than seven (7) days away.
immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/help-text/dpd/Pages/faq-english.aspx
1. NO - you cannot apply for your DPD weeks before your departure flight.
(a). It needs to be within 7 days of your departure date.
Hope that helps - all the best and take care. 😊🙏

Hi Helen, thanks for the video. I have a few questions,
For contact details, can I put in my brother's Australian Phone Number who is currently living there? Or is it better to enter my current overseas number? (This number will no longer contactable once I depart my country)
Also, for the question 'Are you an Australian Citizen, permanent resident or immediate family member?'
My aunt and uncle are Permanent Residents, and their children (my cousins) are Australian Citizens. Do they count as immediate family? Do I choose 'Yes' or 'No' in this case?
For length of intended stay, I will be staying Australia for a total of 21 months, so is it alright if I enter it as 21 months directly? Or should it be in years (1.75 years)
Thank you so much in advance!
Hi @STORM - apologies, I was quite unwell and ended up in hospital with pneumonia. Im still in hospital but have some energy now and you're the first on my list (I’d prefer to be on laptop answering as it’ll be a lot quicker - but all I have is my phone)
1. You can use your brothers contact number as your contact number
2. You can select that you’re an immediate family member. Your brother is immediate family. I personally consider my aunts/uncles and first cousins immediate family too.
3. And putting in 21 mths is fine.
4. Don't forget you can also seek assistance from the Global Service Centre as well if needed.

Hi @Donna
1. I had a similar query from another viewer who was returning after the lockdown to Australia, (this person was on a visa living in Australia)
(a) From memory they were advised by the Global Service Centre to select 'visitor or temporary resident' (this was dependent on the person's visa conditions)

Can I travel to Australia from New Zealand if I am a unvaccinated New Zealand citizen?
Hi @Lakers fan
1. It looks like entry requirements for each of the States/Territories are easing ie

Hi @Lakers fan - FYI, I just saw this:
INTERNATIONAL TRAVELLERS INTO AND OUT OF AUSTRALIA will STILL BE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE PROOF OF DOUBLE VACCINATION against COVID-19. Travellers will also still be required to wear a mask while on international flights based on medical advice. These measures will be implemented under the non-emergency provisions in the Biosecurity Act. The requirements for maritime arrivals will also be aligned with those on airlines, as part of the safety protocols for the resumption of cruising.

I have an Australian passport and I would want to enter australia without being vaccinated, can anyone tell me if i have the right to enter?
Hi @notispanos32 - here's what I've found:
*I have not been vaccinated. Can I still travel?*
Yes. Australian permanent residents and citizens can travel to Australia regardless of their vaccination
status, subject to *passenger caps and state and territory quarantine requirements.*
If you do not meet Australia’s definition of vaccinated, border restrictions apply to you, and you must
continue to follow the current border processes when coming to Australia. This may include seeking an
exemption to travel from Home Affairs, travelling within international passenger caps and/or *undertaking
mandatory managed quarantine (subject to state and territory requirements).*

@@judiejansevanrensburg133
1. If you're an Australian citizen and a question asks whether you're an 'Australian citizen' -
(a) Select 'Australian citizen' as that's what your citizenship status is.
2. Regarding the Department of Health website:
*I HAVE NOT BEEN VACCINATED. CAN I STILL TRAVEL?*
*Yes. Australian permanent residents and citizens can travel to Australia regardless of their vaccination
status, subject to passenger caps and state and territory quarantine requirements.*
www.health.gov.au/sites/default/files/documents/2022/04/coronavirus-covid-19-frequently-asked-questions-international-travellers_0.pdf
www.health.gov.au/health-alerts/covid-19/international-travel/inbound
@Judie Janse van Rensburg - as per the above information from the Department of Health's website, my interpretation is that if you're a citizen or permanent resident of Australia - you can return home to Australia regardless of your vaccination.

19:28 "I do not meet Australia's vaccination requirements" - Yes or no
I don't know why they worded it this way but it is causing a lot of people unnecessary headaches and anxiety. Surely the government wouldn't fine you for answering this statement incorrectly...
If you do not meet the requirements, the answer is = NO
If you do meet the requirements, the answer is = YES
Hi again @Biskuterpa - great question!
1. When I first read this question and looking at it from the perspective of someone who is unvaccinated
(a) I instinctively would have answered 'NO - I do not meet Australia's vaccination requirements'
(b) I didn't think twice about how to answer this query until another viewer who was unvaccinated answered it as 'YES'. When you think about it, everyone sees or interprets questions differently - I answered with a 'NO' - this person answered with a 'YES' -
(c) what we were both getting at is: "NO" I do not meet Australia's vaccination requirements OR 'YES' I agree with the statement: I don't meet Australia's vaccination requirement.
2. To make it clearer, I personally would have worded the question: "Do you meet Australia's vaccination requirement" YES or NO
3. The second question: "I declare I am fully vaccinated with an Australian approved or recognised Covid 19 vaccine" - YES or NO.
(a) IF you answer "NO" to this question - based on this information they likely already know that you are unvaccinated;
(b) Now they want to know why ... medical, age etc ...
If you need to seek further clarification from the experts at the Global Service Centre - they can be contacted on: Phone: +61 2 6196 0196 (outside Australia) for advice as needed.
