Use painters tape to tape down your backing and it stays nice and flat. Then layer your batting and Top and spray the layers. Thanks for the video. Love your tops.

I tried using painters tape on the backing of the other quilt and my painters tape didn't stick to my tables. I don't know if it was my painter's tape or the finish on my tables. But I liked it at first before the tape stopped sticking. LOL.

@@aprilscraftroom I usually use the blue painters tape. It sticks enough but not hard to get up off the flour. I like your table idea better then crawling around the quilt on the floor. I have used bigger binder clips that fit on the edge of the table if you don't have a lip on the edge of the table that is to wide. I got mine at Walmart a few years ago.

I’m exhausted just watching you sandwich that quilt!!! Great video!!! My Christmas tree is still in the hallway waiting to go upstairs. I just put garbage bags over it to keep dust out instead of taking apart!!! It’s upright year round!!! It’s your sewing room - if you want a Christmas tree up year round - so be it!!!! I know your grand children love it!!!

My current sandwich technique is doing it on my design board. May not work well for those with mobility issues as larger quilts requires using a step assist. I have found this method to take much of the dread out of this dreaded chore. With gravity working with me, it is so much easier to square things up.

I like using the powder. I used to use the spray. I didn't like all the overspray and smell that I had to deal with. I prefer the glue method over pinning because I don't get any shifting or puckers. Spraying is much faster, but I have never had a problem with my needle gumming up with the powder.

So my question is, have your cats ever jumped up there on it while you’re trying to assemble it and what do you do if they get glue on their paws?
