This performance and song (my fav by her) is the reason why I have rocked with Anita Baker for years. She's one of my favs, and I'll never get tired of hearing her. Much love and respect to the songstress!
She's so beautiful, and so strong and stylish- and in my view, the best vocalist from the 80's, her recordings give me goosebumps. What an amazing voice. She was, and is completely unique, in a sea of other 'famous' singers. She really should have become much more widely recognized for her greatness. This tune, is my favorite of all her work. The musicians are killer on it.

I'mAustralian & would never had heard of her except for her performance on SNL. I recorded it & she sang this song & I LOVE YOU JUST BECAUSE, with 4 back up singers & the house band i think its even better than this. Simply wonderful.

I had the chance to Anita Baker in a small venue in Cleveland way back in the day. Tickets where 5.00, no one would go with me they didn't know who she was. When she returned to Cleveland everyone knew who she was and the Tickets were 50.00.

Had such a great life and woman back then.
We saw her in concert and i was completely memorized by her presences and such a pretty woman, thee rows back from center stage.
Concert tickets in 2018 start at $200.00 on up, concert in 1989 Florida Max was $20.00, my how times change. But not this woman voice.
Amen man, 20's in the 80's here as well. Wish I could go back and re-live them.
