    I went to an ACE school and graduated 18 years ago. I still use the goal chart concept in my life... it is fantastic.

      I am so glad there is good reports out there about it! It is such a great curriculum but so old lots of people want something newer. And love to complain about the old:). Any curriculum is scary but someone told me the hardest part of starting homeschooling is choosing the curriculum. So when I realized I already knew ACE and was inclined to use it...well that took the hardest part away!!!🙌

    Love this! I love hearing from the perspective of someone who came through the school and is using it while homeschooling your children. I found you on the ACE fb page. We will be using ACE this coming year for the 2nd time, and I've decided to stick with it through high school. When we did it the 1st time, I set the goals and checked their work. Having watched several yt videos from people who used it as a child and emphasized the benefits of setting their own goals and scoring their own work, we're definitely going to incorporate that this year! Thanks for all your videos!

    I just ordered the 5th grade A.C.E. curriculum for my daughter as our first home school curriculum. We are currently waiting for it to come in. I have friends that use it and was introduced to it that way. It seems like it is going to be a good fit for my daughter and for us to travel more and see the places in the USA while we can.

    I’m just starting my 3 older kids in ace: 8,7, and 5 yr olds. The couple videos I watched were so helpful. I have no idea what I am doing♥️.

    How can I get a hold of you for questions? This is our first year ever doing homeschooling with our son and getting a hold of how things work and how much to do has been quite a struggle, knowing only a little about ACE. Watching a few of your videos has shown me how much I have missed and needed to do properly. Do you have a video on how it all works for first-grade and second-grade? I am needing some guidance and would love to hear from you.

    So helpful! I am considering ACE for my rising 4th grader. If you have time, could you please answer: how would you adjust organization, goal setting, and record keeping if you were only teaching one child? Thank you!

    • @Handkerchiefgal
      @Handkerchiefgal  3 роки тому +1

      This is a great question! I would really make sure you and the child are a team. How much do they think they can get done and is that a realistic amount? I like to remind them that every little bit they do gets them closer to finishing all their paces...and now they can see that as their sister is only 14 paces from finishing up and she is just 17 years old! SO keep your eyes on the final goal! But be encouraging all the time. Call grandparents when there is a neat page or a 100% on a hard subject. You could try things like, if one subject is finished then they can work anywhere (upside down on the couch, in their bed, outside...)for the next subject. Many times this teaches them how and where they can be the most effective at working.
      But to be very basic I would have them do 5 pages a day for 4 days a week. Have your fourth grader fill out their own goal card, and I would keep records the same as I do now. Just have a notebook and with the test and fill it out as you go along.
      Hope this helps!

    Are they supposed to set goals for the whole week or one day at a time?

    • @Handkerchiefgal
      @Handkerchiefgal  Рік тому

      We do 1-2 days at a time. Sometimes the whole week if we are trying to make sure a pace test falls on the last day of the week.

  • @sarahinhere

    Do you fill out all the days for the week at one time? Or day by day?

    • @Handkerchiefgal
      @Handkerchiefgal  4 роки тому +2

      Mostly day by day. Ideally as you finish one subject you set the goal for the next day before moving on
