I like seeing kids getting involved helping out with their parents. It's good fundamentals for life and beings great memories as well. Keep up the good work and God bless you and your family.

It did weld up pretty nice. The thin stuff can be tough to do since it likes to cool off quick. Thanks for stopping by!

Sweet forge weld Jayce. That's not easy forge welding smaller material. You've got a good daughter and helper there! Take it easy!

Thanks! Ya it was really cooling off on me. If I hadn't been filming I probably would have just done a one heat weld. She is a good shop helper!

Thanks Bob! Yup we made it through the cold snap and now it feels like spring out there, it is 64 degrees and I'm building sheep fence for my wife. I do hope it cools off and we get some moisture though!

Very nice. I have machined a thrust washer & I have cast one from aluminum. Next time I might have to forge one.
I miss my kids being in the shop with me. .. I'm in the shop with my dad as often as I can.

Thanks for watching! Ya the plane got a pretty wild paint job but she was proud of it. I might need to check my spray paint inventory now though...

Great video! Just received my Daddy- inlaws Blacksmiths leg vise and looking to restore it. Missing the thrust washer and needs a little adjustment on the spring to push open jaws. I'll have to try to locate a Blacksmith to make me one or go to the Amish in Tennessee and see if they make me one. As I'm here in Alabama. Vise you have looks identical to the one i have but mine has the corner built up about an inch to hold small stuff and I've not seen one like it. May have been something Daddy in Law added. As he was a Blacksmith.

I've never seen one like that but a lot of tools are modified to suit ones personal use. Good luck getting it restored, if you are ever in Central Montana you could drop it by and I'd be happy to fix it for you!
