1 Befriending your vassals. Friend modifier gives 60 positive opinion. Befriend scheme is the first perk in patriarch tree. Nice to grab it early. 2. If there are troublesome vassal, get rid them on the battlefield. Make a one army with the said vassal and feed them to the enemies. Hope he will die in the encounter. 3. If your character is dying, try to imprison and revoke titles of some troublesome vassals. Let the heir grant titles to close relatives and character with content trait once your character dies. Also add dread on your heir, by executing some prisoners on the heir's first day.
This is my first paradox game. I work hard to keep my vassals happy and then when I die. All my vassals are -100 opinion on me. And they start independence wars against me. I’m so tired of it, how tf do you stop that.
1.Imprision everyone with claim on ur main title before dying so ur heir can ask them to renounce their claims 2. save a lot of gold if ur near death to hire mercs when required 3.concentrate more on internal expansion/affairs rather than external and don't expand too much 4. Develop ur holding and men at arms 5.use external alliances to help during conflict 6. Have a good heir with him being a councilmen to unlock perks and also ruling a vast domain so he brings in his gold and his domain goes to his children who won't revolt 7. Create a lot of kingdom titles and give it off to people with less internal domain in that kingdom
Yeah, it becomes problematic when your current character dies and heir comes in. There should be a court position that allows your heir to support the realm like your spouse does and then at the same time help adapting good relationships with your councilors. I think this would add a lot of gameplay.
Or you can do the opposite and scare the bejesus out of your vassals by using dread mechanics, different playstile I know but an interesting one nonetheless. Also the diplo skill tree has perks that will help you with making everyone love you.
I actually found vassals to be much more manageable in CK3 almost to the point of it being too easy... Not sure if its me doing something right or the mechanic needing a nerf.
Great video. One question: i have a vassal with negative opinion and he is not paying me taxes. This is because Vassals with negative opinion will refuse to pay you taxes?
But how do you prevent them from joining the independence faction every time your heir becomes your new emperor? No matter how happy they are with me, as long as I'm not allied to them, they can still join. Plus when my empire is too largle, I don't have enough children or siblings to marry out, neither can I negotiate an alliance with many.
how do I get more territories within my kingdom? Im down to 1 and my vassals are more powerful than me. How do I make my heir inherit a district in my already existing kingdom.
I just gave a gift and a ward to my biggest threat (my uncle) when my father died and I was finally able to get him to note rebel which is good cuz he has 9k levies and I only have 5k
im almost controlling half of the map, and im dealing with vassals rebellion every 5 mins. I mean I get it paradox is trying to make the game harder through process, but it gets to the point where im so annoyed. Like how do you keep almost 100 powerful vassals happy at the same time? The shitt is not fun anymore lol. If anybody know a mod that can shut their whining asses down please let me me know

I'm having the same problem -_-
I'm sure that's the same question dynasties asked themselves in the past lol. That's the kind of "real" game they played I guess.
Yeah I just go the route of the tyrant, I kill and execute everything and everyone in sight, family included. Done the nice route, it does not work.

I've been wondering for a while how to keep peace in my empire! This will help me.
I saw someone the other day talk about imprisoning every vassal(this sounds like it works)
Yes great help! I really understand granting land to better vassals now

True that works too, although impossible to do when your ruler is a minor for example.
Thank you this was very helpful
I had this problem since ck2 😅

Thank you kindly
Great video.

Yes, vassals with high negative relations will refuse to provide you any tax and levies.
But how do you prevent them from joining the independence faction every time your heir becomes your new emperor?
No matter how happy they are with me, as long as I'm not allied to them, they can still join.

Should you keep your domain limit at max even if it means having land inside of a friendly dukes de jure? or should you keep the duke happy
depends on his power, if it might end up costing you a civil war maybe just give it to him, if it doesn't really matter just keep it :p
Thanks ! this video really helped me 🙂😊 .

It is so fucking boring that every time that your king dies and his son success him you need to fight a rebellion
I just gave a gift and a ward to my biggest threat (my uncle) when my father died and I was finally able to get him to note rebel which is good cuz he has 9k levies and I only have 5k
