The Skyline is using a standard road spec transmission, helical. The M3 GTR is using a straight cut one, which cuts weight down by half. Moreover, the gearing on the M GTR is more racing spec and competitive, compared to the factory stock gearing of the R34. The M GTR is also using 2 more cylinders than the 6 cylinder Skyline, and its still right on its tail. Give the R34 a straight cut transmission like an actual racecar, and gear it accordingly, it would very, very quickly bridge that 2-3 second gap.
This is nfs if you upgrade the transmission they switch gears at the same speed
Also the bmw m3 gtr is a full fledge race car made street legal
The Nissan also has less hp

Since u need help u just gotta check some vídeos about both Cars, in my opinión the Skyline its just famous because of fast and furious, its not that fast and remarcable like the m3 or some other Cars, in my opinión theres 3 jdms that are worth It, the supra, the s2000, and the integra type-r.

I should've left the stock engine on the M3, it sounds better and looks like it's faster. Can't remember which one I swapped it with, I think it was the very last engine option.

I dont think so, the m3 its a race car that uses a straight cut gear, that means that the power transimition delay = 0.
And the m3 its using its stock engine so It wouldnt be fair to change the skyline's engine, if you're wondering how i know bout the m3 stock engine its because theres an issue un the game that when u change the engine tecnichally the trans changes too so u wouldnt be able to Hear the whine, in a few words if u Hear the whine then its the m3 gtr stock engine.
