The SEC has been impacted more by the portal and legal NIL than others. Bama overrecruited for years while forcing players ,that didn't work out, to transfer. And legal NIL has evened the field for those that ran a clean program.. The SEC never traveled much while scheduling a easy game late in the year as they only play 8 conference games. Can't wait to see a southern team in the cold for once. I wish the forecast was snow.

Penn State absolutely should be in the playoff, but to say that they are getting what they deserve is wrong! Penn State is getting what Oregon deserves! You can’t compare this playoff to NCAA basketball. How many games are in a basketball season? A lot more than that are in a football season. Joel Klatt is completely correct! Penn State is going to agree with how it turned out, they are the beneficiary!

Reseeding is absolutely necessary. This guy talks about the NCAA basketball tournament, but this isn't basketball. The only reason they can't reseed is because half the regional bracket is in one city and half the regional bracket is in an entirely different one. If the 15th seed wins, you can't reseed it because they are in a different city from the 1 seed. You *must* reseed the CFP.
If the goal is a national championship we lucked out. If we won we we would have got the hardest path. If we didn't go to the big10 game we'd have got the 5 seed - still not great. Instead we got the easiest path.
I love your program and analysis, but you're falling into the same old PSU media trap - looking ahead. On T-frank's program yesterday one of the commentators was clear that there are no gimmes in this playoff. That SMU is a good and worthy opponent and if PSU doesn't have it's act together could lose. I agree with him. This talk of easiest paths and who has the best talent as a defining feature of who wins is nonsense. Everything changes and everyone gets better in a playoff format. 1 and 0.

But Penn State shouldn’t start looking ahead, nor should SMU start forgetting coverage assignments in the first quarter putting us in a major hole because we couldn’t hear the play 😮. As an Oregon fan I still can't believe Penn St kept it so close. Oregon made a calculated mistake in defending the pass with a 2 score lead and it backfired bigtime. Nittany Lions I think played like they had nothing to lose once they got behind. It should help them going forward. I was very impressed with the resilience and their offensive line.

No, they have two different cities per region where they play the first and second rounds. They can't reseed because of the different cities.
