Watergate salad is jello pistachio pudding, doesn't have lime jello in it. You are right about it being green jello 'salad'; a jello mold salad which was also all the rage in the 60s. The "Watergate salad" I make because you can tweak the recipe. I call mine Toxic Sludge due to the color/dyes in it, but it is VERY delicious. 😂

At our family Passover Seder, we hit each other with scallions too. It's a Persian Jewish tradition, and so fun.
