def leppard still rocks from their first album until now. and joe elliott still knows how to rock,he is still one handsome man. def leppard keep on putting the hot driven fire to your music cause it keeps me coming back for more. love you, debbie from walnut cove,n.c.
this is a awesome video by def leppard, it shows that they have keep their promise to keep us entertained all these years and they are still as strong as ever, i still love def leppard and i will keep my promise to always love these guys especially joe elliott.keep the music coming. love you debbie from walnut cove,n.c.
rick Allen looks as if he hasn't aged since the time they began as a band. Sav is still beautiful Phil is still the greatest guitarist and Joe still has the best voice ever. Rock On Def Leppard.

Get Ready last night on Eddie Trunk Live on XM Joe, Phil, and Viv were on and told that there is a LIVE album coming in2011, they're mixing it now, Cant wait
Pretty sure I heard Joe Elliott say in an interview that Promises is one of the 3 songs they did with Mutt Lange on Euphoria. Def Leppard plus Mutt Lange equals gold. So wonderful. Love DL. Saw them in July 2014 at the Los Angeles Forum. Did VIP tix, got to meet the band. They were amazing. Favorite band since 1983, when I was 13.
Hahah im only 17 and Def Leppard is one of my favorite bands to listen to and in my opinion they are the best metal band from the 80s and this song is there best(*in my opinion)
Steve Clark and Pete Willis put the hard in the "hard rock" sound that Def Leppard had in their first 2 albums. And Pete helped write a few songs on Pyromania before he was fired. No disrepsect to Phil Collen, who is technically a great guitarist. I'm sure Vivian Campbell is also but I bet Phil contributes more to the sound since Steve passed away.
Marilyn, 7 Year Itch: It is'nt fair.... Every time I hear it I go to pieces... It shakes me... It quakes me... It makes me go goosepimpley all over... I don't know who I am... Or where I am... Or what I'm doing.... Don't stop... DON'T EVER STOP!!! Oh, it stopped. DANG
I think it's because it was so different from their hard rock/heavy metal roots in the 1980s and early 90s. This is more like a power pop/soft rock song.
@drksnt18 Well, personally, I think this is definitely their Best Song ever! I'm not kidding. I crank this song every day multiple times... Listen to it a few more times and play it kind of loud... It really gets you going! I'm an old Def Leppard fan from the 80's...
I do think that Steve Clark was the heart of the band. They are just not the same. They should not have replaced him. They had said, "you can't replace a family member". So Don't ! I also think it was a wake-up call for the rest of the band to clean up and get there act together. To bad it cost them the live of a "friend" to do it.
It's all rock that's where it originates from and rock originates fom blues. Great band have seen them through all their changes.Have all their albums. It is from Euphoria 1999.
I believe the main riff in this song was originally written by Steve Clark. If you listen to the song Gods of War off of the Hysteria album (Steve wrote that entire song) You will here the similarities. Different tempo, aranged bit different, but very very similar. The very beginning sound effects in Promises is almost identical to Gods of War as well. ...Give it a listen.
Promise’s is a beautiful song. I would love for Joe Elliott to whisper something to me in his sleep! Def Leppard is the very best band ever in my lifetime. I have been trying to scream out for my Facebook friends. I am in a terrible place. It will eventually come together but, not fast enough for me. I have been locked out from everyone by the very same person, as always! Don’t count me down, resting! I will get my way back to you! Angie ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🎶🇬🇧🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤💫😢
Wish they'd have another comeback song THIS good and catchy! They stuck with their typical sound and just added a little 1999 pop onto it, but not enough to make it sound like they were jumping on a bandwagon either.
@leftdust Def Leppard hasn't had a charting single on the Billboard Hot 100 since 1995 "When Love and Hate Collide". But that doesn't mean they don't still make great music.
@leftdust Promises" is a 1999 song by British hard rock band Def Leppard from their Euphoria. It was released as a single later that year and reached #1 on the Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart and #38 on the Top 40 Mainstream.
@MrTheguyofbigbite Steve Clark was AWESOME,...But Vivian really stepped in and kept Def Leppard alive. I actually have a Poloroid of Def Leppard With Steve Clark and my Dad standing beside the tour bus,..My Dad Drove the bus during the Hysteria Tour....The were soooo fucking cool!!
I think a very important part of the Def leppard sound is John Lange. He produced some tracks of the Euphoria album, clearly you can tell wich ones he produced .
What a GREAT song this was! Also, a BIG RADIO hit for them! The #1 Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks song for 3 weeks (Billboard)! They should have had MANY more since then ('99)! Regardless...the music is still GREAT!
@classicmetalhead88 Are you serious? Because lately i have been listening to a lot of 80's music on pandora and right here on youtube... This song seriously rocks... is this a new song or is this from the past? Is def leppard coming back????
@mjm8686 this song actually was a pretty big hit off the Euphoria album and was a Top 10 song on ROCK charts. I think it might have even been in the Top 40 briefly in 1999 but I could be mistaken on that.
@RupertNotoy Thirdly, I agree with the above. It is a selection of the Euphoria album and Steve Clark was the man. 50% of the Terror Twins (Steve Clark & Phil Collin), they rocked the house!!!!
@JamesJoycesLiver Fuck, yes. They're a rare breed. There weren't too many bands that took Queen-like harmonies and combined it with Zeppelin-like crunch. Apart from maybe Bon Jovi, I don't think there was a bigger pop metal band in the 80's. They sold a shit ton of records. And the songs...the songs themselves have held up.
Thanx to god we still have real music makers like def leppard ...... and by to way this song rocks!
def leppard still rocks from their first album until now. and joe elliott still knows how to rock,he is still one handsome man. def leppard keep on putting the hot driven fire to your music cause it keeps me coming back for more. love you, debbie from walnut cove,n.c.
EUPHORIA is classic Def Leppard and in my opinion one of their best if not their best album!
this is a awesome video by def leppard, it shows that they have keep their promise to keep us entertained all these years and they are still as strong as ever, i still love def leppard and i will keep my promise to always love these guys especially joe elliott.keep the music coming. love you debbie from walnut cove,n.c.
These guys are the kings of the melodic, monster riff!
seriously, these bands Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, Queen, Aerosmith, are evergreen.... i thank god for them and their songs!
That vocal yell at 3:37 is incredible!!! It's absolutely perfect!
Their drummer is AMAZING!!!! Doing this song with only one hand. I am impressed!! Def Leppard will live forever!
Holy crap! Def Leppard had some emotional stuff.
rick Allen looks as if he hasn't aged since the time they began as a band. Sav is still beautiful Phil is still the greatest guitarist and Joe still has the best voice ever. Rock On Def Leppard.
If this had been released in 1989 would have gone top 5 without question - brilliant pop rock track.
i may be 19, but even after steve clarks passing they still made great music! Rock on Def Leppard!
This is simply called Magic! :) Oh yeah, that's what it is....
It is beyond me why this music video does not have more views.
Kick ass song, Def hasn't lost a step.
Def Leppard ROCKS!!!!Yeah!!!
Def Leppard never went any where!!!
I don't get how this song did not put these guys back on top. It's as good (or better in my opinion) as anything off of Hysteria.
Funniest comment I have read re Def Leppard vids ! You have impeccable taste for someone so young. Brilliant !
REAL MUSIC IS COMING BACK FOLKS!!!!!!!!THE 80'S ARE INDEED BACK.LOOK AT ALL THE 80'S BANDS REUNITING.

doesnt matter if its 2 late 4 luv- its not 2 late 4 remaining best friends- ur stuck with me as your best friend 4 eternity- im not letting u throw away our lifelong friendship- im behind u in everything you do as ur best friend- a lot of ppl could learn from u- u demonstrate that just bcz a relationship ends the friendship doesnt have to end- if u werer 2 look up friend and class in the dictionary ur picture would be there

Awesome riff!!
I LIKE BACKING VOCALS (Sav, Phil, Vivian and Rick).
OF COURSE, JOE HAS A BEAUTIFUL VOICE.

After Slang, I was so happy to hear this. It was like a return to the old days.
f'n great tune by a f'n amazing band
The beginning of this video reminds me of the Space Mountain ride at Disneyland...need to get back there this summer :)
Great song!
This is like one of their least popular songs but like one of the best.
like yeah
I think it's because it was so different from their hard rock/heavy metal roots in the 1980s and early 90s. This is more like a power pop/soft rock song.
Yes very underrated song.
Viv's so cute! Reminds me of an old buddy of mine who played guitar...
@drksnt18 Well, personally, I think this is definitely their Best Song ever! I'm not kidding. I crank this song every day multiple times... Listen to it a few more times and play it kind of loud... It really gets you going!
I'm an old Def Leppard fan from the 80's...
When I first heard this song at my local Marsh back in 99 I though this was some bonus track or something off of Hysteria that I overlooked.
Yeah. Rock music sounded VERY different of course in ‘87 compared to ‘99.
I do think that Steve Clark was the heart of the band. They are just not the same. They should not have replaced him. They had said, "you can't replace a family member". So Don't ! 🖤AWESOME SONG AMAZING VID 🖤 THANK YOU GUYS FOR LOVING MUSIC🖤
🖤I LOVE YOU GUYS 🖤🎸🖤👣🖤🌻🖤
My favorite song from Def is Hysteria
Best leppard album with Vivian Campbell
alot of people don't give Viv enough credit, I think he's great
Def is the best
Likewise! In my opinion, if band or a solo artist is gonna' play "loud and rebellious" music, they or he or she should have the "look to match."
This is an amazing song and I love it =D
This video includes a great tribute to LASERIUM at Griffith Observatory! thanks!!!
this what maid me have a big crush on him
This has got to the be the best song on earth. If I were the NASA I would send a copy of this song for aliens to find.

@cheffy84
Really?
Real music never died:) Def Leppard is real music;)
What a GREAT song this was! Also, a BIG RADIO hit for them! The #1 Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks song for 3 weeks (Billboard)! They should have had MANY more since then ('99)! Regardless...the music is still GREAT!
Rick Allen still sounds great on drums !!!!
@classicmetalhead88 Are you serious? Because lately i have been listening to a lot of 80's music on pandora and right here on youtube... This song seriously rocks... is this a new song or is this from the past? Is def leppard coming back????
I went to their concert last September, and yes, their hair is back, except for Phil, cause... well you know.
Laserium laser concerts are featured in this video, dont miss seeing Laserium Live!
@mjm8686 this song actually was a pretty big hit off the Euphoria album and was a Top 10 song on ROCK charts. I think it might have even been in the Top 40 briefly in 1999 but I could be mistaken on that.
I got it this Def Cover Album limited collector CD in hologram... and I luv it ♥
@JJon808 This song was actually made in the late 1990s, but I agree.
@RupertNotoy Thirdly, I agree with the above. It is a selection of the Euphoria album and Steve Clark was the man. 50% of the Terror Twins (Steve Clark & Phil Collin), they rocked the house!!!!
I want YOU !
Perfect
Probably!
