Thank you for this VIDEO. I am using hostinger as my host. Have a website on WIX and I had to create a completely new domain to host my tours. But for me the hard part to get my head around was that you had to put an absolete URL before you publish/export the tour. So basically what it does is, 3D Vista embeds that URL to where in needs, to make the tour run online. And it embeds that URL that you wrote in the index.htm file if you will open it with notepad you will see it. I mean now it makes sense. Thank you Nick. 3D Vista was not showing this. But anyways now it works. I will do more tests to figure it out fully. Thanks Nick.
Thanks so much for this Nick! I just spent all day trying to embed a 3DVista tour into a WP page with no luck. Finally got it working now after watching your video. 3DVista keeps telling people (having trouble embedding) on other channels to “See FAQ #11” which gives code to insert into a text box in your WP site, but never mentions the “URL”. Your info on URL when publishing is gold. Also, as you mentioned, keep everything LOWERCASE... I mean lowercase, I accidentally had a directory with a cap, and kept getting 404 errors until I simply renamed the directory using all lowercase. Thanks again, and cheers from the Colonies :)
@@kirknash3646 yes yes... that's true! I was looking for the answer in the video and then I read your comment first, I tried, and BOOM... the magic happened!! I don't understand why 3D Vista people are not clear about such important details in their tutorials! Thank you Nick!! :)
Thanks for the video Nick! In case anyone has my issue: Currently, my primary domain is tied to a WIX account so I spent some time troubleshooting FTP with my secondary add on domain. Turns out I was not using my administrative ftp account and was transferring files in the wrong folder. Once I used my administrative ftp account I was able to locate the correct folder (public_html) and uploaded my tour successfully. Thanks for the video keep them coming.
Thanks. After publishing the tour on this funny domainname, is it possble to embed the tour on an existing Website??? In this case i woult be possible to show multible tours on one Homepage.
Hi Nick! How do you generate the code for the client put the Tour on HIS SITE? Like a Embed Code, not the URL. How you share the tour with your clients?
Nick, I'm struggling to successfully host my 3D Vista tours. I'm using Bluehost and File Zilla. I am placing the published tour folder in the public html folder within blue host via file zilla. When i enter the URL for the index.htm file, my web brower just tries to download the index.htm file, it doesn't launch the tour. I've been struggling with this for days. If I try 20i, should I just use their web hosting service? Thanks!
Hey Nick, great video! I just uploaded my first 3dvista tour to my wordpress site this way. I just wondered if i can make an umbed code so i can make the tour immediately visible on my website as an example instead of linking to the specific webpage?
Hi Nick, I was wondering which hosting package you used to access public_html file? I am currently hosting with godaddy and on my hosting package there is no access to public_html so I am wondering which package you are subscribed to in order to upload these tours.
Nick , thank you so much for your video. I have transfer my 3dvista folder to the public_htlml folder in FIlezella , it luanch the VR only first panaroma , it show no hotspot link , i can't link to the next panaroma, Thanks
Hey Nick¡ Thanks for this video but i have a Question.. If after using the 3d vista hosting to generate the access link for the web or to send it to the client for any reason I remove the tour from the hosting because I need space for another tour. Will the link I have embedded in the web also disappear? I don't have clear with the 3d vista hosting is 1GB for a year or 1GB per day. how many tours could i put in the hosting? Thank you very much in advance.
I don't use the 3D Vista hosting, however I know that it's an annual payment depending on how much storage you need. I recommend that if you are doing quite a few tours, then you use your own hosting. I have done a separate video on this.
Hi Nick, thank you for covering this content! I'm currently struggling to host my 3D Vista tours online. I've been trying to host using a FileZilla server with no luck. With just FileZilla it seems I can't generate an HTTP to insert into the 3D Vista URL publishing settings like you've done at 10:50, only an FTP which is not supported. Is using a third party hosting service the only way to generate the correct pathway or do you think I'm missing something important here?
Hi Katelyn, I normally just type the URL in manually. It would depend on what your directories are called, but for me it's www.nickpowellphotography.com/clienttours/oaklandcare-lambwoodheights/index.htm
@@NickPowellPhotography I really enjoyed it. Which camera you used for that tour, All that with 3dvista?, lightroom, photoshop route or affinity, topaz route. Really clean work.
i think it matters with the size of your panoramas and how many you have in your tour. not an expert here, just starting out myself. my last tour is 365mb compressed (...tar.bz2 file) with 11 panos...just saying
Hi Nick how does the client see the tour via you site do you give them the full URL and how do you stop other from seeing there tour ? sorry im sure its simple just a bit confused where the tour goes to
I host all of my tours on my own server. Just give the client the URL, or give them the files to host on their own server. I am not sure about how to stop others from seeing the tour, but am sure you can put some kind of password on it or something.
Hey Nick great video. i followed all the steps (using 3d vista as well) and when i try to open the new page its just blank, not an error page. Help please
It's really hard to give support on this without seeing what you are doing. I would suggest contacting your hosting company, they are normally really useful.
I was wondering if you use the 3dvista hosting do the clients see "3dvista" anywhere in the URL, that would be a dealbreaker as the clients would see it and maybe go look at that company. I think the FTP is the way to go. Thanks mate
Hi Martin... No I don't use the 3D Vista hosting as it's quite expensive, but you don't see 3D Vista in the URL. Definitely go down the self hosted route. 👍
The software is far too advanced to have an app. I suppose it would be convenient, but there's no way you could accurately design it tour on a phone or tablet.
Sweet Jesus . I have been using 3dvista for over a year. I have completed many projects and have expert level knowledge of the software. The ONE thing that has scuppered my entire business is the file sharing aspect. It has completely left me dumb founded. The 3dvista hosting is off the charts expensive. The alternative hosting would require a masters degree in computing to overcome. I am about to give up to be honest.

Nick Powell Photography How much ram, storage, cpu, and bandwidth do you recommend to host virtual tours for clients?
This doesn't make a difference because you aren't hosting tours on your computer.
Nick Powell Photography So all I need when uploading a tour is a dedicated server?

Can I use my DropBox for hosting 3DVista?

need to be careful; FTP is not secure
