"After nearly nine years away, Jon Stewart made his long-awaited return to The Daily Show desk on Monday night, delivering a scathing 20-minute monologue in which he relentlessly mocked the two leading presidential candidates for their age-related gaffes and missteps.
Stewart’s criticism of President Joe Biden, however, did not sit well with the majority of The View’s hosts on Tuesday, who complained that it was “offensive” and ageist. At the same time, they groused that focusing attention on the president’s increasingly frequent public miscues only helps Donald Trump, who they described as a “stupid fascist” who would lead America into a world war."

Bernie however is on point when I see him in the Senate. Great memory and everything. Clearly Bernie was the better choice and we should have made him president. I understand your point HOWEVER, Sunny Hostin did make a great point in that this country is SO quick to make fun of old people for things that they can't help because they are old, rather than respect them for the vast amount of wisdom that they possess from their life experiences. The way those in generations younger than them treat and talk about them sounds just like the way kids and teens talk as if THEY are the ones with all the answers and their parents are clueless - the kids are the know-it-all's. Ana and Cenk sound like these kids to me here - no respect, just think they have all the answers, as if they totally understand all the ins and outs about being the president. Just because someone isn't able to articulate with the quickness and amount of energy as you guys and other younger people do, does not automatically mean that they are incompetent. I agree that it is a concern, but no matter who is running, most candidates would have some area of concern, since unfortunately, there are no candidates presented to us that are 100% perfect or anywhere close to it. You spend a lot of time, along with the right-wingnuts, tearing down Biden for age-related things, yet also like the right, you purposely and glaringly omit all the good things he's done. While I'm not totally democrat and don't agree with or support Biden's every move, I can at least see that his term so far has made a lot of positive changes in our country at a time that's been extremely difficult to do so. It's stuff like this that feed into his low satisfactory ratings. When the reps build up trump and tear down Biden NO MATTER WHAT, then the dems and progressives try to be "fair" and show no bias, you ALL end up trashing Biden and building up trump (who is a bazillion times worse!!!!), even when done subtly, and it makes a difference. John Stewart's comments were along the lines of (paraphrased), "I'd rather have a nice 'old man with memory problems' who wants to do good for our country than a psychotic dictator 'old man with memory problems' who wants to destroy our country."

Have you personally sat down with him and had a substantive conversation with the guy ? How can you make such bold and affirmative statements Anna , as if you’re speaking factually ? Your speaking from your opinion based on internet videos that have been cut and clipped and edited to suit this narrative that the guy who has literally accomplished more successful foreign policy advancement and bipartisan legislation and policy reform here at home then any other president in modern memory has in their first term alone. And he did it from a place of total catastrophe and shambles left behind by the trump administration- not only did he put it all back together and he did it with ease- he also is going out of his way to ensure the public can see he is not interfering in places where his hands don’t belong like the justice department, special counsel investigations, his sons legal issues- he has been incredibly thoughtful and honest and has kept a positive attitude and he has put in place a dream team around himself that looks like America ! So diverse and so talented and everyday America witnesses first hand how much the Republican Party is not only dysfunctional but also lacks any diversity- and it’s glaringly obvious - every day in your face you can see their racism just by watching how stark the difference is between dems and republicans. Joe Biden’s age is an asset bc with his integrity and honour and desire to truly do right by the American people and our allies, he has the unique ability to not have to worry about his political future or his personal finances or his anything . It’s all about what’s best for the world and best for America bc he doesn’t have to worry about what’s best for himself bc he is literally fulfilled his life already and doesn’t have to even worry about dying bc he knows he is gonna die eventually sooner then later so he can be radically sharpe in his change making choices with none of the typical restraint most others would have . We have seen many politicians who were sharp and articulate, now as they are above 80 mumble and fumble their way through the press conference. They are capable people who have reached a point in life where they should not hold high offices where their decisions would affects millions of citizens.

I thought Stewart's commentary was hilarious on both Trump and Biden.
Funny, yes, but Stewart has the power and influence to discourage young voters to NOT vote for Biden, but people who have already chosen to vote for trump will still do so and will not be dissuaded like left wing voters could be. It's concerning that we could be doing 2016 all over again. It's 7 months till the election. No one else is going to swoop in and charm everyone and take over for Biden. It's Biden or trump, and that's it. In 2016, the left split, and the right all held their noses and united behind trump, and that's why he won. And he put children, some as young as 12 months old, in cages and overturned roe. No one believed he actually would, but he did, and he said he would. He seated three uber supreme court justices, all of whom will be on the bench for at least the next 25 years. Now, trump is saying he will pull support from Ukraine, hand them over to putin, pull out of NATO and step aside while putin attacks poland. trump said that if (when) he takes office again, that's what he is going to do. Only a fool would refuse to believe him.

Throw around ageism all you like BUT educated/trained people correlate symptoms with other factors to make an assessment of mental acuity.
