I'm from Canada, and I drove long haul coach for 43 years. Our new buses also used this FAS Tronic Automated manual from Germany. But I prefered the older 6 and 7 speed manual transmission. You have more control. I have also driven in Germany. I lover the Autobahn to Berlin.

Many buses here are actually beautifully designed and super comfy, but the traffic conditions are chaotic and competition between bus companies and drivers are intense so the drivers sometimes drive in a rush and wildly in order to achieve time and passenger density targets.

În Germania ai voie să mergi pe autostradă cu 110 km pe oră dacă ai inspecția tehnică în țara lor.
Munca pe autocar este prost plătită pentru răspunderea pe care o ai în Europa.

As a bus driver, I wish we Americans had more Mercedes-Benz buses on our fleets. They’re pretty great actually and the engines are amazing. I didn’t know Mercedes-Benz made Buses or Trucks until You hopped behind the wheel of one a few years ago. They’re just as great at big vehicles as they are at their automobile market. I’m sold….
Note; while I know this is Germany (I plan to visit in 2 years), this area looks very much like the region of the United States I live. Surprising that the world can look like home and be on the other side of the world or ocean at the same time
Europeans make fantastic trucks & Buses (coaches). Scannia, Mercedes, volvo et al. Most Americans are ignorants of many things outside America. Lol.
I'd like to see them enter the school bus market and learn from the domestic side here in the states.

You also could tell us your taste about busses. Which one you like the most, which is better than another, good sides or bad sides of some models. Just keep filming. You can check our busses/coach park at www.cegmira.lt (in main page) and choose. To drive other vehicles is more difficult, because I have to ask for our collegues and partners to borrow :)
My favourite bus is VDL Futura 13m length. I like that loooong wheel basis. It has very soft suspension and steering wheel rotates easily. Also VDL design is so futuristic:))

I wonder why there aren't many new Coaches using Manual Transmission?
I really hope that one day I can experience Manual Transmission Coaches and buses in the future.
Though that time is running out in Europe and everything will be transitioning to Electric and Automatic transmission.
Yeah, it’s sad for me too, like almost every coach is automatic gearbox. I like manual more..

Thank you! The speed is limited to 100kmh. This bus have traveled 615.000 km in 10 years :)
